    Scaling Back

I have been there myself also. While I was on the pre-diet, I found myself constantly weighing myself! I had my husband hide mine, but appearantly he didn't get the concept of hiding it because he just slid it under our bed! LOL I am 3 days post-op and should be going home today! I hope that I have lost a little more - but have to remember not to live on the scale.

    3 Days Post Op

Well, I am 3 days post-op and feeling pretty good. The first couple of days were really rough but they are getting much better. It looks as though I will get to go home today! That makes me very happy Gas pains haven't been too terribly awful - just here and there. I am struggling getting the green kool-aide down but I am trying hard. I so bad want to know if I have lost anything yet - but don't want to get caught up in the #'s. Hope everyone else is doing well on their journey!

    2 Days Post-Op

Hi everyone! I am 2nd day post-op. Yeah, I have been sleeved! Yesterday and the first half of today were extremely rough. But things have started to even out this afternoon and am finally getting a little bit of clear liquid down. I hope to get to go home tomorrow but they haven't had me up walking yet so may be another day or so. I am very thankful to have this opportunity to change my life and become the mother I want to be and that my children deserve. I love reading about everyones journeys so keep the info and advice coming.

    Being Sleeved In 3 Days!

Good morning everyone! I am 3 days from being sleeved and getting really excited! I am ready to get this journey going into full swing. I have been on my pre-op since 7/2/12 and going good for the most part. I am finding it hard to get all six of my protein shakes in - usually about 9 or 10 before I get the final one in! Also having trouble getting my water in. Some days I do fairly well, and others are horrible. I just get busy with the kiddos and taking care of the house that I just don't do it. I have lost 13lbs since July 1st so that makes me happy, but can't help but wonder if it would be more if I was getting that last shake in earlier or if I was getting all of my water in? Any thoughts on this? Looking for good tips/advice/and take-alongs before I go to the hospital on Monday. What made your hospital journey easier for you? What would you have taken/not taken? I look forward to reading your suggestions and tips. Good bye for now.
  6. Nice job! Looking fantastic ... and thanks for the encouraging pics! Surgery on Monday and so ready to get this party started!!!!

    My Journey

  9. Hi everyone! My name is Tammy and this is my first posting. Looking for a supportive group that has been/is going through the same thing as myself. I have a wonderful family/friend support system but they haven't been through this so don't fully understand the whole thing. I am 36 years old and a stay-at-home mom of 4. The oldest (my step-son) is 15 and the youngest is 4 1/2 months. I am in Missouri and am under the care of Dr. Simpson. I have been heavy all of my life and have done the diets. Some have worked temporarily but it always comes back. My heighest non-pregnancy weight was last summer at 300lbs. I started my journey last year for the LapBand in January by attending a seminar, which is required here. I immediately started the process and steps of getting the procedure done. I finally received my approval on July 23rd 2011, but that was quickly heart-sank, because I had just found out on July 18th, 2011 that I was expecting- unexpectedly! This precious little girl has been a blessing and would not have changed anything - but now it is time to get back to my journey. I went back in May of this year and got the ball rolling again - this is when my doctor introduced me to the Sleeve. After much consideration - I have decided this is the better way to go. I am very excited about my new life. I weighed in at 281.4 on July 2nd, the night before my pre-op liquid diet started. I am now part way through week two of pre-op liquid and weighed in this morning at 269.8! My surgery is on July 16th at 6:15am. I just did my pre-admission last night and am getting very excited. I guess a little bit nervous - but not really that much. I will post on updates. I enjoy reading about everyones journey, success, and struggles. Thanks for allowing me to be part of a wonderful community. Here's to the beginning of a new life!!!!!
