I did not have a drain either -
This whole thread has made me laugh. I will give you some of my "unexpected" list 1. After surgery you will be amazed how hard it is to move in the bed I was pushed by my mother to get out of bed the first night to walk, I was glad I did, she had surgery 8 yrs ago and knew what wa right and wrong. Thank goodness I have her. 2. Gas pains, Omg... The worst part for me, it was worse than incision pain, gas x, and hot fluids and walking it out helped the most. It was rising to my shoulder when I laid down and made it hard to sleep. It took a good 16 days afte surgery til gone. 3. Having to remember NOT to tasty food I was cooking for others. 4. Getting in enough Water and Protein 5. Hormonal changes, wow, tears, getting impatient quick.

Friday Weigh-In!
nomorefat replied to KevinsBabyGirl85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am sorry to hear about those that have a lacking of support from family and friends. I have been very fortunate as both my mother and sister have had successful surgeries and my family has Seen how much healthier they are now. My lack of support came from my employer who fired me 10 days before the surgery with a bogus Claim. I am laughing as I collect unemployment and spend the summer healing and time with my son. I hated the job and the mangers sister had surgery and failed miserably. I love the support of this forum and wished we could all get together. I look forward to talking to people that are going through the same thing right here and now . Prayers to all of you. -

My scale isn't moving either, but I know inches are coming off ( 30.5 so far). I feel better each day. I attempt to get in my protein, everything I eat has protein, I try to get my 64 oz of fluids and I do protein shakes about every other day. It will happen, I try not to focus on the # -
I am single and have been for 2 years. Always felt my weight had a lot to do with that. I won't be looking anytime soon, but hope a few months down the road to meet someone.

Questions...
nomorefat replied to mamalovesfootball's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery weight was 245, date of surgery 6/4. 3 weeks post op today. In the first two weeks, I had alot of gas. Hot liquids, gas x and walking helped alot. I am currently 223. I did come home from the hospital at 256 due to fluids. My weight loss has slowed, I try to get in protein and water everyday, sometimes it's a struggle. My Doctor has me on regular food, I only eat it I'd I can mush it, everything I eat has protein. Most days have been. Good and each day gets better. Today was the first day I was really tired. -
Today the scale is moving and I am down 21.6 lbs since surgery, but emotionally I seem down, not sure why. Might have been the fact that my mom had us stop at McDonald's for my sons lunch and they both ate while I drank unsweetened tea, then i proceeded to drop the tea 3 times. Finally I threw it out!!! Does anyone else have bad days like this ??
-
I have been eating sf fudgsicles since I got home from surgery. I Have not eaten them since I went to regular food because everything I eat has protein now. But if you have a sweet tooth they are perfect
