For Those Who Weigh Every Day -
smb replied to KS Fort Worth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG I do the exact same thing!!! Hahahaha In fact, we have two scales and they never show the same number, it's maddening! I keep going back and forth until I get a better number on the scale that's always running heavier. -

I'm on day 2 of my two week liquid pre-op diet and I was in an all day meeting at work where they brought in lunch. TORTURE. I ate 5 dry lettuce leaves and 3 chunks of chicken from the inside of a wrap. Then 3 cups of chicken broth I brought from home. :-/ -
That's not nice.

Most Humiliating Fat Moment
smb replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No. What I meant is that autistic children were once sent away to a home and now they are celebrated for being unique and special, there is awareness now. They are readily employed. They are more accepted. Fat people are not accepted any more than they were 30 years ago. Sure there more clothing options, but that's only because someone can make money selling it. -

Most Humiliating Fat Moment

Well, the conception is that you can't DO anything about race and gender, so you have to accept people for what they are. Ditto with physical handicaps, birth defects, mental issues, etc. 35 years ago autistic kids were sent off to group homes, now they have parades for them! Society is just starting to accept that sexual orientation may just not be someone's choice, so yeah -- we are starting to accept gay people now too. But fatties? Sure it may be a genetic tendency but calories in < calories out. It's not rocket science. Get off the couch! Stop going to McD!! It's OK to bug us because we're doing it to ourselves. -
Next question, what's a DVT?

Most Humiliating Fat Moment

Me too. In fact, I kept the very first one I ever asked for. After that I lost a bunch of weight myself and happy gave it back one flight. A marriage and 2 kids later, I again kept the first one I asked for since regaining all the weight. I can't wait to give this one back once and for all! -

Me too! Exactly the same schedule. I am trying to drink chicken broth when I want something salty, but stuff we've had in the freezer for ages is starting to look good. UGH.

Mine was the same as a lot of people's. I had to take a computerized multiple choice test -- anyone with half a brain would know not to pick the answers that sound psychotic. Then we talked for about 45 min. It was clear that she was a dingbat from the getgo, and she kept apologizing for forgetting her train of thought. It was all right, though, with everyone she sees daily, there is no way any of my "personal" info made a dent in her brain.

Hi, I went to the seminar last December - kinda by chance. My primary care doctor mentioned surgery, I cried and felt like a failure. But in between tears, I looked online and saw a seminar was at my local office in like 2 weeks. So I signed up online and went. To my surprise (i guess), I was "in" the program and that's that. My insurance co. requires 6 months of dietician. I did that. I lost the same 10 lbs about 3 times over this 6 months. I start my pre-op diet Wed and have surgery scheduled for 8/29. Back in Dec, the idea of possibly waiting til AUGUST was ridiculous, but now the time is here faster than I knew it.

I start my two-week preop on Wednesday. I need to call the office because I am really not sure what I can have. It seemed like this day would never come so I didn't worry about it... but now I wish I paid more attention! I have lost the same 10 lbs over the last six months of nutrtion visits. *sigh* I hope the liquid diet goes well.
