I am 5 weeks out and I can't relate to the people who say they are stuffed after 1/2 chicken nugget. I try to eat protein only and lately I've been "filling up" with salad to cut the calories.

I know the feeling! My stomach seems like it is made of steel and I eat much less, but nothing bothers me!

I've been in a stall for 3 weeks now, but my clothes are fitting better so I'm trying not to think about it.

How many calories do you eat? Have you looked? I also don't do fat free and stuff, but my calories get high so quickly.

Feeling Hungary More Often
smb replied to katrina81's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ummm, in principle, yes? Why not? I probably wouldn't puree it because it's gross, but as soon as kids have some teeth, why not? -
Feeling Hungary More Often

I don't think this is a correct analogy. Babies don't eat hamburgers because they don't have teeth. Your stomach still "knows" how to digest stuff, but pureed foods go down easier during healing. -
I used to be a caffeine hound. But My new favorite is a small decaf non-fat latte Starbucks on the way to work.

What happens after it passes? You are just never hungry? I am 4 weeks out and I notice the hunger but it's not as severe as it was 2 weeks ago. I try to eat Protein only and it helps a lot. -
Where's The Beef ( And Chicken And Pork )
smb replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 4 weeks and the only thing I have problems with is ham and scrambled eggs, and it's because they are too dry. Steak, beef, chicken, pork, fish. All so far so good. -

Before surgery (3.5 weeks ago), I already had loose skin on my stomach from previous weight loss. As my largest incision has been healing, it freaking KILLS when my loose skin moves around. Like knives jabbing me. I have seen stars. I can feel the pulling inside. My surgeon says it's normal healing pain. Uuugh. I hope once all the stitches are dissolved, it won't hurt. How long do they take?? For now, I have my stomach taped up and I'm wearing a bella band from when I was pregnant. It helps A LOT to keep things from jiggling!!

Did Anyone Have A Leak?
smb replied to cantw8t2bme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too. I have it in 2 spots, actually. One is in the stomach area, one is the large incision on the other side where they pulled my stomach out. It aches, it burns, stabs me when I move or stretch, or if I walk too fast or hard (and my tummy bounces). But every day gets a tiny bit better. (I'm 2.75 weeks post op) -
Nobody at work knows. My weight has nothing to do with my job and I don't want it to even be a topic. Same with anyone else, really. I never talked about my weight before, why would it be a subject now?

9 days post-op, on pureed diet. I have had no issues with any food or liquid I've eaten so far and have been pureeing everything -- like I used to do for my kids for baby food. Anyway, because it's going SO well, I'm paranoid. What if I'm eating the wrong things? How do I know if I have a leak? Bust open staples? I did not have a leak test before I left hospital.

I'm 2.5 weeks out (8/29) and I'm on pureed/soft foods. I've lost 15 lbs since day of surgery and been hovering around there for a few days.
