    Best and worst "compliments"

Just gotta figure that's how they keep themselves satisfied with their sad lives, by talking trash about other people. Good for your wife for standing up for her former (yet same) self.

I Want To See Before & After Pics!

Have you ended up with any loose skin or is it keeping up well? From the pics it looks like you've never been heavy a day in your life!

    Calling Kaiser Patients

I'm currently in Options and will "graduate" on January 3rd. My question is, how long after graduating Options did you have surgery?

    Best and worst "compliments"

Aha! Finally someone with a filter on their mouth! And you could even hear it working. Lol

    SoCal kaiser harbor city

The Options classes do not have a co-payment, but I think the first orientation did have one. I won't have surgery until early next year so I am not on any liquid diet as of yet, but I'm sure it will just be stuff you buy from the store. For the actual surgery, from what I've been told with my specific insurance through Kaiser, there is only the in-patient co-payment of $200/day. And I think they want you there at least 3 days.

    SoCal kaiser harbor city

Yes, for So. Cal Kaiser there are 12 weeks of the "Options" classes. I am on week 3 of them. I actually had two orientations before they started though, that were required to move on to Options. Not sure if it's the same for Harbor City (I do Fontana). I am really enjoying the classes so far and I'm glad they are part of this journey. Best of luck

    In on week three

It's too bad they don't operate on our brains as well huh! Your tummy may be small, but will still allow you to eat the old stuff. This is the part of your journey where you start digging deep to really kick the junk food addiction. Do you have any bariatric support groups around you? Accountability helps a lot. At three weeks out I imagine the cravings are bad. But from what I've read they will subside. Please don't go back down that dark scary road! Best of luck to you!

    Southern California

Anyone go through Kaiser Fontana? And have surgery at St. Bernadine's?
  10. Amazing. What an inspiration! Thank you for telling your story.

    Kaiser question

I had my appt last month and they basically sit with you and ask you questions about your weight loss attempts history, any health problems, etc. They weigh you as well. It was probably a 20 min appointment. I start Options on Fri! Best of luck xx

    Encouragement Needed

I'm still pre-op, but just wanted to say to not give up and to stop the self-sabotage! No one is forcefully putting chocolate and other junk in your mouth. I know it is easy to try and justify it now by saying its "only a little bit" but it adds up. You are only hurting yourself! Maybe talking with a professional will help you. They can help you dig deep to find what exactly is causing the cheating. You got 3/4 of your stomach removed, why go back as if it didn't happen? It's not even been a month! Best of luck xx

    Has the sweating stopped?

I'm still pre-op, but just have to say this thread gives me soo much hope! I sweat SO. MUCH. And always down my back as well. So not going to miss that!

17 days post op / feel crappy

Is your heart fluttering? Because that could be a sign of low potassium/electrolytes. Maybe try a Powerade Zero or the no calorie Gatorade
  19. Hi there! I start my first Options class on Oct 11th in Fontana Ca. Should be finished by December and hoping for a New Years surgery!

  22. Are all your complications due directly from the sleeve? Genuine question. Is it because there is more room in the abdominal cavity that your other organs have more room to migrate? I'm healthy as well -- just fat -- and worry about these types of complications down the road.

Things I will NOT miss about being fat.

    1. That horrible moment when you walk by a larger window and catch your reflection. Ugh that side-view! 2. Wearing clothes that you only sort-of like, because that's all you can find that will fit. 3. Any kind of strenuous activity = a waterfall pouring off my face immediately. 4. Even showers are an exhausting chore. 5. I am only about 10 lbs from not being able to ride the rides at Disneyland anymore. It's a tight enough fit as it is. On rides like Star Tours where there is a belt that buckles across, I have to stand up, pull the belt out far, buckle it, THEN sit down and adjust. 6. Knowing that people are looking at you and all your fatness. 7. I want to enjoy sex again. My boyfriend and I used to be like rabbits, but now it's about every other month. 8. I feel bad for my boyfriend to be seen in public with me. He's 6'2" and only 170 lbs so you can imagine the weight difference. You can see the surprise on people's faces when they find out we are a couple. 9. I want to set a good example for my daughter. She starts kindergarten next year or the year after, and I would like to be smaller by then so the kids won't make fun of her mommy. 10. Being so freaking exhausted all the time on top of feeling like your brain is in a cloud all day. I feel like I am living my life on auto-pilot. I just want to enjoy life again.
