Your nerves are still healing. Which means that even though your stomach tolerated the fish just fine, it might be because your tummy is still a little numb from the surgery. Please follow your surgeon's recommendations because you don't want to risk causing a leak by putting too much pressure on your staple line this early out. I know it's hard, especially when you seem to tolerate food without any issues, but the guidelines really are there for a reason. Hang in there, you'll be able to eat solid food again before too long.

I'm always a little surprised when I read posts like this. I know we all want the weight to come flying off and I know that it seems like it should considering we eat so little. However, you are only 33 days out. In 33 days you have lost 27 pounds! Think about that, 27 pounds in 33 days! That is beyond incredible! Especially considering that your body during this time has also been recovering from a traumatic injury (surgery). So what if it takes a little longer to lose, you're still going to lose it. Try to have a little patience and let the sleeve do it's thing. It will work for you and your body will let go of the weight when it's ready. xoxo.

Wow. You look great! You're looking younger too which is a nice bonus! I agree that the right kind of carbs are important. It's not good to load up on refined sugary carbs, but the body was meant to use the good complex carbs for energy and fuel!!

I started my period a couple days before my surgery. I'm now 12 days out from the surgery and it's still going. So I feel ya. I pray to God it doesn't last six weeks! You poor thing!!

Sorry guys if you're reading this ---it is the powder room after all.
So I started my period a couple days before I was sleeved. Which sucked because that meant having to go through the surgery during my TOM. But now I've been sleeved for ELEVEN days and I'm still having my period!! Granted, it's not a heavy flow at all, but I'm used to a three day period not one that's THIRTEEN days and counting. What the heck is going on?!?

I don't know, but I know what you mean. I tend to isolate. It's one of the reasons I like this board because this surgery can be somewhat isolating in and of itself since our friends and family can't really relate to what we're going through.

So I'm ten days post op and every time I have a little ache or pain, my mind starts immediately imagining that I have a leak or some other complication. I really have no reason to think anything is wrong, I'm just totally paranoid. I mean, is it possible to have something pretty major wrong without knowing it? Is anyone else out there paranoid every time they have some unidentified physical sensation?

Alone?

I also went alone. The coordinators direct you every step of the way and there are nurses to help with the aftercare so you really don't need anyone there with you. I'm sure having your hubby would be a comfort, but it's really not necessary.
