Unfortunately after you lose the weight, they will still call you names...but at least they'll have to stop using your weight as ammo. -

Sorry To Ask But........
enigmachik replied to nichole33's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, it's very common not to have a BM for several days after surgery. Especially if you are on pain meds; they are known for blocking you up. At this point though, you should take something to make yourself have a BM, you don't want to go too long without one. -
Slow Weight Loss
enigmachik replied to pedsnurse120304's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You aren't even three weeks out yet. 8lbs may not be as fast as some, but it isn't slow. It's nearly three pounds a week. Three weeks out is a tough time to be at both mentally and physically. I promise you it gets better. You will lose this weight. Don't concentrate on how much/how fast, just concentrate on doing the right things and it will come off. It may not come off as fast as you think it should, but that doesn't mean your sleeve isn't working. Hang in there! -
I'm right there with you on the hair loss. It is definitely unnerving. Just keep reminding yourself that it is temporary. Other than the ones you've already mentioned, iron is also important for stopping hair loss.

I Don't Feel Hungry All Day Is This Normal
enigmachik replied to drelex210's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh okay, I would say it's totally normal then. When you are first sleeved, the nerves are severed during the surgery. It takes them awhile to heal and during that time most people don't experience hunger at all. Even those who think they do, are often only experiencing excess acid. Chances are you will feel hungry again after your tummy has fully healed, however it likely won't be like it was pre-op. I still get hungry, but it's a very manageable hunger now and it takes very little food to fill me up. I'm about five months out. -
I Don't Feel Hungry All Day Is This Normal

Some people don't really have hunger after the sleeve. Others do. It also tends to make a difference how far out from surgery you are. -
5 Confessions (Join In)
enigmachik replied to ebthompson2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are only 3.5 weeks out and you've averaged well over 3.5 lbs a week. This is not a slow loss! If you think it's a slow loss, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. I would LOVE to be losing over 3.5 lbs a week. -
From the album: Missing Teenager
This is a TRUE story --- it's not a scam or joke. The mother of this girl is an active poster on MFP (PlumCrazyGirl) Kimberly is 15 years old and attended high school in Tabernacle NJ. She ran away from a youth residential facility located in Trenton NJ on Friday, 11/16/2012 . It wasn't until Monday 11/19/2012 when the social worker informed her mother of the disappearance. She is approximately 5ft 6", 125-130lbs, long dark hair and blue eyes. We are reaching out to all social media sites we can for awareness. Your prayers for her safety and return is most appreciated. Thank you. -
Freaked Out About Losing Hair!
enigmachik replied to buffalogal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved in July also and my hair is falling out like crazy now. It is definitely unnerving. I've even had a couple of nightmares about going completely bald. lol! My hair is my signature. It's the thing people know me by because it is extremely long (almost to the floor) so losing it in huge clumps like this is traumatic. I'm consoling myself with the fact that it is temporary. Hang in there, we'll get through it! -
5 Months Out- Day 5 Of Diarreah Help
enigmachik replied to Looking Ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
aww, I hope you feel better! If it doesn't seem like a stomach bug, pay attention to what you eat and make note of any foods that cause you to have a worse problems. Have you ever had gallbladder issues? Diarrhea can be one of the symptoms of gallbladder troubles, that's why I ask. Hopefully, it's just a bug and it's almost run it's course and you'll wake up tomorrow feeling fabulous. -
Omg No Longer Obese!
enigmachik replied to Threetimesacharm's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Yayyy!!! -
Like most women, I have a range of sizes taking up space in the closet. Today I started going through clothes I haven't been able to wear in years. I was amazed at how many of them fit! Some of them I am sad to say I've nearly missed out on because they are basically already too big on me. Even my smallest clothes are oh so close to being publicly wearable. I can't believe it! When I look at myself in the mirror I can't really see much of a difference, but fitting into these clothes made it real to me. I really am losing this weight! I want to jump up and down!

Wow, that's great! I'm happy for you!!

Did you possibly eat or drink something that was red and might have just looked like blood? Have you ever had ulcers? I would definitely get this checked by a doctor. I know $500 is a lot of money, but your life is worth far more than that.

Clots And Flying, Great Idea!
enigmachik replied to coolmamma73's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I was worried about clots too. I flew from Boston all the way to San Diego; clear across the country! Thankfully, I had no issues. -
