    I Have f**king Had It!

I know you are frustrated, but you are only a week out from surgery. This early in the process, you will definitely have some discomfort. You just need to grin and bare it for awhile. I promise you, it will get better. I don't really believe you were happy when you were fat, at least not that happy. Otherwise, you wouldn't have decided to get sleeved in the first place. You might not be able to eat the way you want to, but soon your weight will start melting away and you'll remember why you did this in the first place. The sacrifices are worth it. Hang in there.

    Embarrassing....

I also went to Mexico and back without buckling my seat belt because I did not want to have to ask for an extender. I figure if the plane is going to crash, a seat belt probably won't help me much anyway.

    Guess What?!?

    That's fantastic!!!!
  6. I'm quite happy I was sleeved. It is definitely an adjustment to get used to, but I didn't have any bad experiences...the post-op pain was manageable, no complications, can eat any food without issues etc...

    Ladies Only Question...

I lost about 80 lbs a few years ago (prior to sleeve, gained back). The girls became big empty sacs. Not a pretty sight at all. They looked a little better when I gained the weight back, but still not as good as they did before the yo-yoing. Now they have begun the deflation process again. It's a one of the things I'm really really not looking forward to with this process. I hope I will be able to afford, and dare to go through with, a great boob job once I'm finished losing. It's the only hope these girls have for looking half-way decent. Sexy thought, I know!

I'm normal. It's a new normal, but it's normal in that I don't have diarrhea or constipation...it's new cuz now it's smaller and more ladylike. lol

I Spiced Up My Protein Shake!

I have done that as well. I like to use the pumpkin pie spice that has cinnamon and nutmeg. So yummy. Another thing I like to do sometimes is to add a scoop of caffeine free instant coffee to my shakes. It's to die for!

I Hate It When People Misuse "literally"!

It bugs me when people use irregardless instead of regardless.

Finding The Liquid Diet Easier To Handle?

I'm two and a half months out. I can eat anything I want...but, I often find myself still mostly sticking to my protein shakes and other liquids rather than eating solids. I tend to eat solids too quickly and not chew enough and end up feeling uncomfortable after eating so it's just easier to stick with liquids some days.
  13. Soy protein is fine. In some cases it is preferable.

    Breaking Out

Since I have been sleeved my skin has been breaking out with more pimples etc..It also just feels "yucky" in general (for lack of a better word to describe it). I know this is because of all the hormones wreaking havoc in my body right now (don't even ask about the effect this has had on my TOM). My question is, what have others done to minimize the breakouts and make their skin feel soft and smooth?
  15. I was told they were fine. Just be careful not to overdo it and not to swallow them.

    Hello Y'all

Welcome!! It will go by faster than you think. In the meantime you can start learning as much as possible about the sleeve (I'm sure you already have been) and get on an exercise routine, find a protein shake you like etc...make good use of this time and your sleeve date will be here before you know it! Good Luck!!!

    Not Being Able To Sleep

It took me several weeks to start sleeping normally again. The first two weeks post-op, I hardly slept at all. So while it may be frustrating, take heart in the fact that it is pretty common. It won't last forever. I hope you're sleeping soundly again soon!!

    Afraid This May Not Work

I only lost 5 lbs on my pre-op diet. Yes, there are plenty of people losing faster than me, but you know what? I'm losing I figure it really doesn't matter how long it takes, as long as it keeps moving in the right direction. Good luck with your surgery, you will do just fine!

    Getting Too Much Protein?

Are you taking a lot of antacids? They can have a negative effect on your kidneys.

    Embarrassing....

I broke a chair in front of company...TWICE! Shame, embarrassment, humiliation. The worst feeling of my life. And to think I had to go through that twice before I had the courage to do WLS. I can't wait to get small enough that I never again think about whether a chair will hold me.
  23. July 6th for me. Down 35 lbs. No complaints

    All The Single Ladies...

I'm 33 not married, no kids also. I totally understand what you mean about depressing and embarrassing. I'm not back on the dating scene yet, but here's to believing! We have to remember that we are worthy of love.
  25. I understand your concern that your blood sugar went up. However going up from 101 to 103 is negligible. Two different meters or two different test sticks from the exact same blood sample at the same time could have given you this difference. In all reality, your blood sugar hasn't changed at all since you've been sleeved, it has remained stable. Also, a blood sugar level of 103 really isn't that bad. It's something to watch, but it isn't considered a diabetic result.
