    RNY to RNY revision.

You are giving me courage. I hoping not to lose so much darn hair this time. First time was vary traumatic.
  2. Admittedly I have been more sedentary than i ever was. Couple that with feeling awful from GERD and depressed about the weight gain, I have been spiraling for awhile now. My sleeve was very successful and I even if I only gain the benefit of my GERD being gone, it will be worth it. My doc doesn't want me on omeprazole any longer. You are only 8 days out of surgery...are you feeling ok? I assume you are still on liquids. Keep in touch.
  3. You will do great. The medical reasons are the most important but I won't lie... having another bite of the weight loss proverbial apple makes it a win/win. Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing with recovery. I will join you on Dec. 2nd. Take care.

    RNY to RNY revision.

Wishing you both every success. I know it is easy to get down about a revision not working as well as the original but I dug into a bunch of scientific articles and most say the average person loses 10-15% less than the original weight loss surgery. I know when I had my gastric sleeve in 2012, I lost too much weight so I am hoping my revision to RNY just gets me within10 lbs of goal and helps my acid reflux. II'm having my revision 12/2/21 and keep you both in my thoughts.
  5. Dec. 2nd here! - although mine is a revision. The revision board seems to be kinda dead so thought I'd pipe in here. I hope everyone is uber successful!
  6. You should be so proud of yourself! You are an example on how to succeed. I hope you maintain and stay healthy and thank you for sharing! i will stay in touch and please post your progress. I'll look forward to reading your posts.
  7. Before I had my sleeve in late July of 2012 I was 199 lbs. By March of 2013, I was below 130 and I looked sickly. Kinda like a lollipop... my head seemed too big for my body. I do have pics - just ask. I hope you are healthy above all. I was happy when I regained and maintained in the 140-150 lb. range. Now I am doing a revision VSG to RNY and at a much higher re-gain weight (for many reasons). Be well.
  8. Hello all, Well this is 2nd bite at the apple. Here's my history... Sleeved on 07/27/2012 by Dr. Jaime Ramos-Kelly Before Pre-op Diet: 199 lbs (BMI 33.1) Weight Surgery Day: 188 lbs Sept. 1, 2012: 177 lbs. Oct. 1, 2012: 166 lbs. Nov. 1, 2012: 157 lbs. Dec. 1, 2012: 147 lbs. Jan. 1, 2013: 141 lbs. Feb. 1, 2013 138 lbs. (starting looking way too thin) Mar. 1, 2012 132 lbs. (between size 0-2) Horrible GERD/ Acid Reflux Infected gallbladder for most of 2015. Finally able to have removed in 08/2015 Maintained or gained 5-10 (138-148 lbs.) for about 4/5 years thru 2017 Back to pre-op weight of 199 lbs. by 2019/2020 Pandemic hit and now I am 230 lbs. before surgery (BMI 38.3) Scheduled for Sleeve to RNY: 12/2/2021 with same Dr. Ramos-Kelly in Tijuana, Mexico Looking for some kind souls that want to share the journey. Worried about how effective it is the 2nd time around. Looking forward to helping my GERD. The extra 30 lbs. means more months to reach goal. Oh yes and I am fretting about the hair loss. I did not enjoy that the first time around. If anyone has info they want to share, please do. Be well, Katrina
  9. Hello. I was going to be your revision buddy and I am so sorry you weren't able to have it done. I hope you are able to straighten it out and be back on track. Please look me up when you come back. Take good care. Katrina
  10. I am 9 days post op and also feeling really tired... we all know the reason but I am lucky to get in 2 Protein shakes and 40 oz. of liquid. But eating anything but watered down malt o meal is not even an option. I am so happy when people share their story years out. It puts these small road blocks into perspective!

    Hey July Sleevers!

And you look great James! So happy it's going so well for you... K.
  12. Don't be discouraged! I am 7 days post op and only lost 2 lbs. I started with a BMI of 31.3 (188) on surgery date and 33.1 (199) (before pre-op diet). I take a deep breath every time I get on the scale and wonder what did I do to myself.... BUT I know I have never succeeded in the past and drastic measures were called for!
