I have to do 3 weeks pre-Op and Im scared because I HATE protein shakes! My Doctor uses OptiFast and Bari-Essentials. Has anyone tried those? Which one is better tasting? I gag when I drink protein shakes so I have no idea how I'm going to make it thru three weeks, plus Post Op diet. Any recommendations on how to keep these down and make them palatable?

Well, I had my doctor appointment and we agreed that the sleeve is for me. Now I just need to arrange a date for the surgery. I'm not going thru insurance so it won't be as long of a process. I'm ready to start working on the new me!

I'll show you mine... (LBD's)
JLOR replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I don't think that is crazy at all. I'm still pre-Op and think that a LBD in a smaller size would be a great inspiration! Especially after seeing how these gals look! Congratulations...and here's me going shopping...lol -
Calling All Dfw And Surrounding Area Sleevers!
JLOR replied to tonibugg's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks for the referrals! I am going to see two doctors today, and I will add Dr Cribbins in as well. So...when are we all meeting for brunch/lunch/dinner? If your in McKinney and live close to me, I would love a workout buddy! I exercise early in the morning before work if anyone is interested. So far I'm just walking with a little bit of jogging thrown in. But I'm at 5 days a week for an hour. -
Any Ladies At 5'5"? What's Your Story?
JLOR replied to jhansen71's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I too am 5'5" and am considering surgery. I'm currently at 195 and would love to be at 150...135...heck why not dream about 125. lol Seriously though if I was 150 I would be happy. Today, I exercise 5 times a week walking/jogging for an hour, but I am not doing well with dieting, so the weight stays on. I go today for my first appointment. So we shall see! -
Thanks everyone for the support! I really needed it. I have my first Doctor appointment today, and I'm excited! Pia, good questions. I'll be curious to see the answers. I know for me, I was concerned about altering my body that much and what later side effects could come from malabsorption, but on the flip side I worry about the sleeve not being enough to keep my weight down permanently.
