  1. You might be ready. I'm only taking a little extra time because of the fatigue. If I were a desk jockie I would have been back by now.
  2. I am a 33 year old RN. I am evening shift Psych RN over a 21 male inpatient acute care ward. I was sleeved on the 19th. I'll be off 2 weeks and return on light duty on Thursday. I'll remain light duty until I'm confident I can go an entire shift without passing out. Edited to add: I have one year of experience. I also had a pretty significant hiatal hernia repair. He's pretty sure he's cured my GERD and honestly, I haven't had an issue with that. I was up, peeing, and walking 20 minutes after being brought to my room. I had pain controlled with morphine while in the hospital. Nausea, of course. At home Lortab Elixer, Phenergan gel, and Gas X Strips have been wonderful. I'm having my butt handed to me by fatigue. I'm sure this amazing Texas 103F heat isn't helping.

    Quwstions On Puree Food

No staws yet for me. I tried drinking out of a sports Water bottle and the extra air hurt my tummy. Maybe later. I do drink out of water bottles for crystal light and I haven't had the issue with colored lips.

Me too! I just do a little, take a break, do a little, take a break, wash, rinse, repeat. We can do this!

    Quwstions On Puree Food

I spoke with her and my doctors office. I'm off till Thursday then I'll go back light duty. I'm so relieved. I won't be able to have patient contact, and I miss my guys like crazy... But if I can't handle it, at least I won't be leaving my patients and staff high and dry. I have been taking my B12 and Multivitamin. I'm supposed to take the Calcium supplement twice daily but I keep forgetting. I guess I'll have to set an alarm on my phone to remind me. I'll check out the vitamin water zero. Sounds good. I bought New whey Protein shots at Wal-Mart yesterday. 42 grams per shot. I figure if I have a low protein day I'll sip on that for a while to help make up the difference. On the purée food front... I have been working my way through a chicken salad mush I made. Chicken, low fat mayo, relish. I've been enjoying it. I am thinking today I'll make refried black Beans.

I'm a psych nurse. My job is very hands off and I have staff that do most of my grunt work. I'm still just scared that it'll be a wild night and I'll just bottom out. I'm going to call my boss shortly and see what she thinks.

Thank you for this. I'm 11 days post-op. I went to Wal-Mart yesterday and it kicked my butt. I just wanted to cry! I hate being so fatigued. I'm glad it's normal. I'm supposed to return to work this evening and I'm slightly terrified that I'm going to pass out.

    Kids Menu Pass

I was given a card that requests them to allow me to order off the kids menu or be served a smaller portion with a reduced price. It explains that I've had surgery that reduces the stomach to 1/10th the normal size. I haven't used it yet since I'm only 10 days post op. I thought that was really cool of them.

    July Sleevers

Hello July Sleevers. This is my first post. I had my sleeve performed on July 19th with a "big hiatal hernia repair". Lol. I used Dr Clifton Thomas out of Houston/Nacogdoches, Texas. I'm down 14 pounds from my July 1st weigh in to my one week follow up. I noticed today my jeans are looser. I don't own a scale and I'm not sure that I want to. I am loving the post-op changes in myself... Like a lack of preoccupation with food and that I can apply my foodie interests to protein shakes! Yummmmmmmy! I've been lurking around the boards for a while. I didn't really talk to anyone about the surgery before hand. I don't know if I was she'll shocked that it was finally going to happen, nervous about being judged, or what. But it's done. I'm happy and I'm looking forward to making some sleever friends.
