  1. Happy 44th Birthday Tigger!

  2. 7 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 7th Anniversary Tigger!

  3. I think you need to up front and honest with your doctor- I too went through somewhat of a similar situation. I was doing great losing weight (a lot of people told me I was too thin!) However, I wasn't honest with myself- I didn't feel good, I was tired, dizzy, headaches, etc. I also had terrible heartburn and aweful burps! A friend asked if I might be anemic because I was always chewing ice so I searched the Internet on the symptoms- well, I had all of them! I finally made an appointment and told the doctor my symptoms and told the doctor I thought I may be anemic- he all but blew me off about it but gave me some orders to have my blood drawn and I was set to have a Barrium swallow under floroscopy the next Friday (I went on a Tuesday). I went to get my bloodwork done on Friday of the same week as he told me I needed to have it taken 4 days prior to the procedure. Well, this was the 9th, on the 10th (Saturday) my doctor called me and asked if I was feeling ok, if I had passed out, blood in my stools, vomited blood, etc. Long story short, I am severly anemic- the hemoglobin levels should be between 12-15, mine were 6.2, apparently, anything under 8 should have a blood transfusion and under 6 is at risk for heart failure. The doctor was in a panic and totally freaked out that I was that anemic. I ended up requiring a endoscopy, colonoscopy and a barrium swallow to see if there are other issues, thankfully, the anemia is the biggest problem but I do have terrible acid reflux and a heital hernia. I did not realize how bad I felt until I started feeling better! So point being, don't wait to be put in the hospital, tell your doctor everything- he can't help if he doesn't know- you're not hurting anyone but yourself- and that's the worst one to hurt!

    Bruises???

Hello, I got a fill on Thursday, you should see the bruise I have! My doctor said he "busted a blood vessel" because my port was playing hide and seek! I have not had that happen before but it was very uncomfortable when it "busted". I bruise easily but I've never had a bruise like this~ this is even uglier than my post surgery bruise! If I could figure out how to post a picture, I would send the gross picture! Have a great evening!

    Thanksgiving Challenge

I'm thankful for so much, where do I begin? Here are a few: A wonderful husband and 3 awesome kids! An awesome God who loves me and understands me! My health and the health of my family! A job that I love and a wonderful boss! Although my Dad died this year, I'm thankful God is merciful and took him quickly, not letting him suffer! A roof over my head! Food to eat! Clothes to wear! My band!! No matter what we've been through this year, we always have so much to be thankful for!

    Diet coke

Momoffour, I was addicted to Coke, not diet which I know was so bad. I thought that would be sooo hard for me to give up Coke. It has been a little over 3 months and I have not had anything with carbonation! This is a major accomplishment for me. While I did not have 12 a day, I had about 3 or 4. You can do it if you just think about stretching out your pouch. Why would you go through all this to sabotage it? That's my thinking anyway. Best of luck to you!

    THE moment..

Wow! My first moment was when I was watching the video of our vacation and I saw myself, but didn't know it was me! I was soooo embarrassed! All I kept thinking was, am I really that fat? I just wanted my husband to turn it off! My second moment was in May of this year, when my wonderful dad passed away at only 58! He had a massive heart attack and boom, was gone in a split second. My dad had graduated with his second Masters Degree the night before. I knew I had to do something to be around for my kids! My dad was not overweight but if it could happen to him, someone we thought to be healthy, it could sure happen to me! My kids are still young, 7 and 4- I want to be here for my kids, to see them grow up into fine young men and God willing, see their kids! This is a great topic, we all have that "moment" and I thank God, for giving me an opportunity to be healthier, feel and look better!

    Finally!

Hello, I have been visiting this site since before I was banded but did not register until today. This is a great source for information and I love to read the questions/comments everyone has. I feel like I know everyone personally. I remember reading this at one point but would someone remind me how to put my picture on as well? Just wanted to say hi and thanks for a great place to come to!
