    Anyone Here Have Dr. Alvarez?

I am home now and healing. I have been so happy with this surgery. NO PAIN at all, NO nausea at all. I do not know what Dr, A does but he truly makes this very painless. Others have said the same thing, not just me. When you wake up and have to ask if you had surgery, that is amazing. I am tender at my incisions but not sore. I am 5 days out now, sleeping well and moving around without pain. The hardest part is getting out of bed alone (my hubby leaves for work usually before I am awake). I have figured out how to do it now without pain. He sends home pain meds for us for a few days. I am taking them but I do not feel like I need them. The worst part of the surgery for me was the oral antibiotic you have to take for three days. Goodness, that was nasty tasting. So glad to be done with that If you choose to go to Dr. A. (I personally would choose no one else), you will not be sorry. His assistants are wonderful and he truly cares about his patients. I recommend him highly!
  2. I saw the Unflavored Syntrax at Vitamin Shoppe in the KC area. Have never tried it. I have a tub of the Unjury sitting on my counter but I have not tried it yet.

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

We have an amazing surgical team and Dr, I am so very thankful for them. Even being home now, I have almost no pain. My worst day was the day we flew home, that about did me in. I am tender around the incisions but that is it. Just tender, not painful. I can swallow now, no longer having to sip and let it trickle down. The only hard thing is getting out of bed. That still hurts some. I have been able to sleep on my side, it has only been 5 days! So glad that you are doing so well, Jenn. Give Jessica a big hug from Joyce and Mark. Tell Dr. Amazing that I am feeling great!

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

Melly Don't push yourself, it will get easier each day to reach goal. I have never made it anywhere near 64 oz. I am going potty often and my urine is light in color, that is what matters. Before you know it, you will be drinking all you need each day. Our tummy is still very swollen and healing, be nice to it I have found that, for me, green tea goes down very easy and the Unjury chicken for protein. My DR says clear liquids only for 7 days, then the following week I can have the protein shakes again. I am not even remotely hungry, so I am thankful I am not expected to put much in my new tummy.

    Unjury- Soup?!?!

I finally opened my chicken Unjury yesterday, had put it off after reading all these postings. I did not think it smelled bad and I mixed it first with 1/4 cup cold water then added hot water and it was not lumpy at all. I really enjoyed the flavor and the warmth. Just shows that everyone has different tastes and we have to try things out for ourselves to see what we like and what we don't. I still have not braved the Isopure test, maybe today!

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

I cannot tell you how happy I was to meet you. My husband even said, boy, you gals sure have a bond because of this surgery! It was amazing to him to see us meet and act like we had known each other before in life. Please try to rest as you travel home, I got pretty wiped out from the airplane, as they were short flights with a layover and I did not get any rest at all. I was stressing my body by the time we made it home last night! Drink all the time, Susan says it helps so much. I feel SO much better being home today!! Home just makes us feel good . I look forward to a day when we will meet again and be able to spend time together big hugs!! I hope that you are feeling good too!

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

It was hard to stand up out of bed alone, my hubby would extend his arms, I would just grap on and he would gently pull as I swung my legs over the edge. I did get up one night to potty and another time myself to walk while he was sleeping. Just sit the head of the bed up and lower the bed to the floor as much as possible. The nurse could do the same thing for you if you don't have someone. The do not like for you to bend at the waist to pick up things either. That is a NO-NO. I also had an IV pole to push around and it was harder, mine seemed to know where it wanted to go!

TAIDYED, So glad you are awake and feeling as well as expected. The gas pains do hurt. Thank goodness, I did not have much of that after my surgery. You had a lot of work done inside so you probably will have more pain than normal. Hopefully they will keep it under good control for you. I wish you all the best, hopefully you can get a good night's rest tonight.
  13. I had surgery on Thursday , had to fly home from Texas yesterday and had a headache all day long. I also ran a very slight higher body temp last night. Today is MUCH better, no headache, no temperature. Just try to drink something. My new tummy does not prefer water, try green tea. That is going down very easy for me today. Get the pre bottled kind with sugar. My Dr. says regular (not SF) drinks and jello for the first week, our bodies need it. I hope that you feel better really quickly. I just can't imagine vomiting. I had the hiccups and that was really painful !!

Guidance Please 5 Days Post Op

I was sleeved on Thursday and just now really starting to work on liquids. I tried a clear protein drink that comes in a tube like Crystal light but it is not good. I added more water and half a tube of Crystal Light and it is in the fridge getting super cold. I had a small pre-made jello at lunchtime, been sipping cold green tea all day, Just now I had a Popsicle. I have been going to the bathroom a lot so I feel like I am doing OK. I do not see how I will get in 64 oz. today, but I am working on it.
  15. So hoping that you are doing much better and able to come home very soon. You have been through so much. God bless you!!
