Ladies - Top Incision What Did You Do?
flipflop replied to made2beme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I had breast surgery my surgeon told me to use maxi pads. Great call Foxbins! I think it would work for this too. -
My Onderland Finally!
flipflop replied to SpaceyCasey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Seems Easier Drinking From An 8Oz Coffee Cup
flipflop replied to GoState's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been drinking out of the 8oz cups too! You are right, it just feels more "do-able". -
Frustrated At 8 Weeks Post-Op
flipflop replied to carriecat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel the same way! I'm only 12 days out and have been stuck for three days! Hard to understand... -
I'm not sure if this is a common side effect of the surgery, but for the past few days I have been crying at the drop of a hat! I'm not walking around depressed or anything, just will full on sob at the smallest things! Could this be surgery related?
-
That is great! Proud for you!

Week 6, Nothing Staying Down.
flipflop replied to Looking Ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Prilosec did not work for me, but Protonix did. I wasn't able to keep anything down until my doctor changed me to the Protonix. Maybe you could ask for another kind or dose of PPI? I'm very sorry about your work situation. I've had a job that I hated and it was rough! I love my job now, but still dreading Monday. Praying things get better for you! -

9 Days After Surgery
flipflop replied to marleamay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm day 9 also, but I can only have mushy foods. I can eat about a 1/4 to 1/3 cup at a time, but that really just started yesterday. I'm mostly eating thick soups and re-fried beans. -
Glad to know I'm not alone : ) It does seem to start just as I get full! I've had the runny nose too, but did not make the connection. Thanks for the feedback!

Had Surgery On 7/27/12, Looking For The Same
flipflop replied to captgriggs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had mine on 7/27. I didn't come home from the hospital until Monday, doing ok, but keep running low grade fever. How are you doing? -
You look fantastic!

My surgery was Friday, the 27th of July and I just came home from the hospital tonight. I am having some pretty intense pain when trying to breathe deeply. Could this just be gas?

Help! Soda During Pre-Op Liquid?
flipflop replied to Shape_Shifter's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was allowed to drink soda during pre-op, but only diet soda! Sprite zero really helped get the magnesium citrate down the night before surgery. -
Fet Cycle - I'm Already Gaining Weight!
flipflop replied to clk's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
How was your ultrasound? -
Yes, I have been breathing into the device (probably just not enough) and walking. It is comforting to hear that I'm not the only one that has had this problem. How long did it take yours to resolve?

Sooooo Ticked! Should I Laugh Or Cry! Bmi 39.18!
flipflop replied to Silly Phylly's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have Blue Cross AL and was approved with BMI 38.7. I do have type 2 diabetes, but that is my only other co-morb. On the sixth month "diet", I went up and down. My pcp warned me not to lose too much if I wanted the surgery. I was approved the same day they submitted it. -
Congrats! I'm not far behind you...let us know how it goes!

Frustrated Urhhh ... Venting..
flipflop replied to babygirl_sandy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Uhm, I dealt with the same type thing! I was told I would be able to have my surgery by the last week in June, but the whole paperwork/submitting stuff/communication between doctors really slowed things down! I started this process in November of '11. I literally had to call doctors offices everyday for three weeks to get things done! I feel your pain! My surgery is a week from today, so now it feels totally worth it! -
Check with your insurance provider to be sure. With mine, you could do WW, but still had to see the doctor once a month. I just did the doctor diet, it was cheaper : )
