    June Roll Call

Good Afternoon Everyne, I was sleeved on June 11, 2012. I started out at 280lbs at 5'10" and with PCOS. A year later I'm down 90lbs and have been holding at that weight loss for a while now. How will I know when the weight loss is finished? I would love to get another 10lbs off but not sure if it will happen. Help...
  2. Hello everyone, I was sleeved on the June 11, 2012. I didn't know of this forum and I chose Dr. Garcia because of all the other research I did on other sites. There are alot of other doctors to choose from but every time I called to get answers to my questions, they never hesitated to reply. The level of customer service you receive is impeccable and unmatched in the US. Even after I returned to the States, they were available by phone and email. Please note they will bend over backwards for you in the hospital and at the Marriott, but they are not a tourist company. It's a hospital and a business. They are not there to retrieve souvenirs. There were some people staying at the time I was there who were upset that they would not cater to them about moving around the city. Really? You can bring your laptop because the internet is free in both places. They also have computers at the hotel for your use. Lastly, there is a shared phone on the floor that is free and you can call the states. Hope this helps...
  3. Girlfriday when you get there you will be at ease. I didn't get my jitters until I changed into my gown before the operation. I think it was because I've never been in the hospital before. I was just wanted it to be over with and to not be nauseated and not feel the pain from the gas. The key is to WALK WALK WALK!! You will do great!!
  4. Hello all, I am just posting an update to this forum for those who are looking for a more recent sleever. My surgery was on the 11th of June and I was up and at 'em as soon as I returned to the room from the OR. I was tired from the meds but my pain was minimal. Everyone's bedside manor there was wonderful and professional. My favorite nurse was Karen. Everyone was willing to answer all my questions and even assist with my friend who traveled along. Yes he was bored but he was uber prepared for the boredom. The Marriott was just that...the Marriott. I am extremely picky and very hard to please, so if I didn't have a complaint then you know things went very well. The level of customer service and professionalism was off the charts. I would recommend Dr. Fernando Garcia to anyone who needed it!!!!

    For The Slow Losers

Thank you to everyone for this post. I really needed to read this. It completely made my day!!! I'll just stay the course and not get discouraged.
  6. I have been off work since the 9th. My surgery was on the 11th of June. Although I am moving around just fine, I am swollen and get tired after alot of walking. I am scheduled to return to work on the 27th. I walk alot at work so I thought the extra week would be sufficient. It's all according to how you feel. The most important thing is take your time and listen to your body!!
  7. I received a leak test before I left my doctor in Mexico.

Congrats to everyone on your success. I am 17 days post -op. Still discovering what hurts goin down and all of that. I am currently doing full liquids and creamy soups but I have added mashed potatoes. I really find it hard to be creative. I find that the only thing I want is CHICKEN!! OMG I want a turkey sub or something. Haven't really lost that much weight but the inches are falling off significantly.
