I Thought These Would Go Away....
joiful replied to PerfectlyImperfect's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my 'vent' goes the other direction! I will be an 'A' before I know it and was a fabulous 'C' prior to surgery. you can be upset about what you want, everyone is differrent and thats okay!! -
I agree that you did the right thing. It def gets easier. I still have things I cannot eat like soft bread, eggs, tortilla and my fav.....watermelon. Just doesn't go down but everyone is different. I remember being in your shoes....you will get through this!

the icy orange and grape frost are not bad over ice. Just gotta brush teeth after drinking, they leave a groaa film in your mouth. Not my fav though

Had my surgery July 16th too! Same thing here and I was told by a sleever 4 mos out that I am prob not getting enough calories. I am soooo sick of the protein shakes and isopure though I'm not sure what to do. -

How Long After Surgery Did You Wait To Have Sex?
joiful replied to jennrus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
6 days! -
my husband does this, but I can guarantee the first 4-6 weeks (maybe more) you will not be able to eat enough of anything to get the protein you need. It is a wonderful plan for when you can eat well again.

yes, don't forget about the fluid retention and swelling from the surgery. Also an 'older' sleever said they would stall or have slower weightloss when not getting enough calories. Your body hangs on to everything I was told. And I, at 4 weeks post-op am lucky to be hetting 500 calories a day! Its hard the first few weeks. Hoping it gets easier! Good Luck!

joiful replied to choc_thicktothin's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats on your decision! You will do great!! My family was not supportive either so I ended up not telling them! I am 4 weeks post-op and down 27 lbs and saw them for the first time a week ago and not one of them said a word!! They didn't even notice. But you will find great support on here!! Good Luck! -

Thought I Might Have Been One Of The Lucky Ones

both of your attitudes about hairloss is very 'refreshing'. I am extremely worried about the hairloss. I will just have to remind myself that I can get through it. -
Protein Is Making Me Nauseous. Wasn't Before
joiful posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements

Just home from my getting my sleeve yesterday. Severe pain right after surgery but they got it under control quickly. My worst problem was gas pain but walking and a heating pad helped that immensly. So walk a lot and sip, sip, sip! Good Luck!

Introduction Decided To Get Sleeved Instead Of Banded
joiful replied to minniemouse67's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was the same. Went in determined to get the band but after researching and talking to the surgeon would never consider having a band and would never recommend anyone else to do so! Good luck. You will be a hottie before you know it! -
i was told the only thing to prevent hairloss is protein! Get your protein in! but i also take biotin so we'll see! congrats!

the bougie is like a long plastic rod they use as a guide, they come in diff sizes, 32, 34, 36fr, etc. And the pylorous is where your stomach meets small intestine (duodenum). And you will not pick the size, your surgeon will, so no worries!

3 days!? Me too!! I have heard heating pad & lip balm are two biggies! Good luck and congrats!!!

:/ What Do I Need To Buy To Start (Phase Ii)?
joiful commented on JUDY1458's blog entry in JUDY1458's Blog
protein! but not too much because everyone on here says your tastebuds will change post-op. All of your vitamins and supplements, gas-x strips, sf drink mix for all your water (they make some good ones w stevia). I am using my pre-op liquid diet (I'm on day 3) to try diff types of protein. I know there are SO many other things but thats a short list!
