I Did It The Baked Ricotta!

    Yes it is ok
  2. There are so many pros I have experienced so far: I lost a chin, I have room on the sides of chairs, extra seatbelt on the airplane, I am more active, I no longer have low back/hip pain, I can shop in the missy department, I look healthier, and I feel great. There have been a few bumps but no true cons so far: I occassionally get constipated, if I eat too fast- I slime, I worry about if I will get to goal and if I can stay there, my period is a little irregular now, I'm losing hair (I have tons so this doesn't bother me), I have trouble getting all of my Water and protien in.
  3. I have a dress from Old Navy that a girlfriend bought on clearance and left my house (she lives across country so it's not worth shipping). It's a large which would put me at a 12/14.

What did you eat today :) ?

Yesterday- Breakfast- greek yogurt Snack- string cheese Lunch- edamame and two chicken skewers with peanut sauce Snack- dry roasted peanuts Dinner- two chicken skewers and peanut sauce. About 800 calories
  5. I am carb sensitive- something I never knew until this surgery. I eat carbs but try to stick around 50 grams a day. Also I upped my calories to about 800 as soon as I could. I think those two factors have paid off for my consistent steady loss. Stalls happen but so far I haven't really ever had one. :-)

    Whats "normal"?

I think it is aggressive but possible. Unfortunately, this is something you cannot predict 100%. You will need to have a strict plan that includes exercise as soons as possible. Do your best to get in the recommeded amounts of fluid and protein as well, it will make a difference. Many also have success by limiting carbs during the loss phase, you can see if that helps you maximize your loss. Good luck.

    Panniculectomy/drains pics

Some insurance policies will cover excess skin removal in that area if the pannis causes problems like rashes and irritation.
  10. Ntv txn-I gave up soda, coffee, and wine for my sleeve. I track my food but travel a lot for work so I can usually only weight measure portions at home on the weekend. Any tips to under eating your sleeve away from home. I eat until full right now.
  11. I don't stall but only lose 1-2 lbs a week vs others who lose 7 lbs in a week and then stall for two weeks. Everyone is different. I suggest graphing your weight. I use my fitness pal. It lets me see intervals at 1, 2, and 3 months. It helps me keep it in perspective that the overall all trend line is going downward. That helps and then just looking at my thighs (with clothes on), they just look so small! If you haven't read a clothing size chart in awhile that gives me excitement, I look at the measurements for a 2x and compare it to my current size of a missy 14. Stay positive!
  12. To the OP and Luckysmomma. I am sorry to hear of the troubles you are having and hope you both heal physically and emotionally. Regarding the tangent on life expectancy, if all doctors agree to do no harm by virtue of their profession, they would be unable to perform this surgery let alone have insurance companies pay for it if the benefits did not far outweigh the risks. At the end of the day health insurance coverage is determined by actuarial tables, statistics. If a procedure reduced life expectancies or had more complications than successful outcomes, it would not be covered.

    mf vs wls

I have a friend who lost a lot of weight on Medifast. She is maintaining through a Paleo style diet. She has a gluten allergy so that eating plan works for her and she loves her results. She wears a size 4 or 6 depending on the brand. For me, I have been overweight since childhood and needed a drastic intervention. However if you can lose weight and change your lifestyle to maintain that loss w/o surgery, you should. This is a permanent and drastic surgery. It was right for me but is not right for everyone. Good luck in whatever you decide.
  14. Great job, keep it going! I started with walking and my jog is definitely slow. Keep it going. I'm sidelined for a day or two- spent all day gardening yesterday and now I can barely move!
  15. I too have a clot in the top of my hand from a vein infiltrated by a bad IV stick. I wad told would go away but no such luck. I see my surgeon next week and it will be one of the first things I ask about.
  16. Thank you! I'm 5'3 3/4". I feel great! I no longer wake up every morning with aches and pains. I have so much more energy.

    Goal weight question

I loosely used BMI to help me. At 140 lbs I would no longer be considered overweight. My surgeon set a goal of 160 but when I see other women with my shape/ height at that weight, I think they still look a little pudgy. I also have a clothing size in mind- an 8. No real reason pther than it is a single digit. Frankly, I won't really know when I am goal until I get there.
  18. Thank you! I am enjoying the ride!
  19. Checking in Feb sleevers! Down to 194 this morning almost 40 lbs gone. Wearing a missy 14 or 16 depending on the cut. So happy to be out of plus sizes! Loving my sleeve.
  20. Dang! You definately give me a goal to work toward! What are you doing for exercise? I'm inconsistent with exercise and just joined a gym.
