  1. Quick check in: DOS size 20/2xToday size 12/L.
  2. Buy things you can freeze/store in pantry since this is a stock up trip. My must haves at Whole Foods include: Brat Hans Chicken Meatballs, Applegate Farms organic sliced chicken or turkey breast, Alive & Radiant Kale chips or their other raw veggie chips. Actually, I am so addicted to kale chips that any brand on sale ends up in the cart. I also always pick up a small container of their fresh fruit salad. Their deli selection is great but since we eat so little, I don't get much there. The curry chicken and vegan curry "chicken" salad in the deli is good. Haven't bought it in awhile but I love Primal's vegan "jerky" as well. Their organic bulk section is good too. Just getting back into sprouting my own grains and they have the best prices on organic dried grains and beans. I get Think Thin bars their as well. I also love their natural hair care products too. I'm lucky, we have lots of Whole Foods stores in the area.
  3. I should mention the Twin Labs is a bariatric calcium- so it is chewable. Not awesome tasting but it works.
  4. I take my vitamins since I eat so little and can't eat enough to get it all in. I take a Flinstones multi with iron twice a day and half of a Twin Labs calcium once a day with food or after eating. I got sick the first time I took my vitamin. My surgeon's office said to take them with food and space them out througout the day. Never had a problem since.

    GNC shakes

I like to use it as the base to my smoothies, it mixes better than my powder from Walmart. Tastes good and a blends without grit. Without added fruit or yogurt, e.g. just mixing with water or milk, it needs a little more time to rehydrate. I like the French Vanilla. Chocolate Peanut Butter was ok too but way better if you added a spoonful of PB2.
  6. Check out the recipies section lots of ideas to incorporate protien powder same with blog World According to Eggface.
  7. Congrats. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
  8. All of the above! I am more active and able to work along side my hubby in the garden. I have been putting a serious hurt on my wallet, so thrilled to find clothes in my size in every store except Lane Bryant- too big!! I only take vitamins and a preventative PPI, no medications. I feel better and look better, that has created a huge boost to my confidence. Many days I could take it or leave it when it comes to eating. Sometime I do get hungry but overall I could just as easily not eat all day. Lastly, the biggest benefit is the combined effect all of these improvements have had on my life. I am much happier knowing my weight is no longer a factor in my life
  9. Congrats! You look great!

    Question.....

  11. People at work ask however I have no interest in explaining my health hostory or health decisions to them. I tell them that I cut calories. I focus on eating protein and lower carbs as well as exercise.
  12. Dulcolax got me through my first month!
  13. How did everyone do? I hit 190 and exceeded my goal by 10 lbs.

    Boredom and old eating habits

I made a list early on of boredom activities. The most effective for me is to take a break and get out of the house: walk the dog, work in the garden, or go run an errand. Physically removing myself from the situation, even if just for a short period of time, gives me the distraction I need. I also agree with the poster who said only have healthy snacks around.
  15. Mio or Crystal light liquid- one of them has Splenda I believe. Hot or cold tea also counts for water. Try varying the temperature of your beverage as well. I can drink more when beverages are room temp vs. iced. Try milk, cow's milk will count towards your fluid goal and give a little protein. If you don't like that, soy and almond milks are an ok option as they are mostly water.
  16. I found that I had to adjust the ratio of greens to fruit over time. I probably started at 70% fruit and 30% greens. Now I am the opposite but it took time. Mild veggies like spinach, kale and lettuces are a good choice. I also find that I have to let my smoothies sit for awhile, Sleevie does not like all the air/foam in them when first blended.

Once released to a regular diet 8-12 weeks out depending on your program
  18. You got this! Just take it slow and steady for the longer runs times. Right now it is about endurance and stamina not speed.

    Overeating

^^^^ Agreed. For all the newly post ops, many of you will have your hunger return over time. Overtime, your sleeve will relax and you will be able to eat more. To the OP, your fear is founded and normal! I worry about the same thing. The first several months to a year are your opportunity to make this a lifestyle change. Someone posted an article about two type of eaters: moderates and abstainers. I'm a classic overeater; if someone brings around a trigger food (e.g. chips), I'm powerless. One bite will turn into two and two into three! For me, I have to abstain. Not bringing tempting foods into the house as part of my lifestyle change it makes it easier to resist. As you consider this surgery, you will need to find what it is about Food for You and then come up with strategies to deal with them.
