    Fitness Plan ideas

Couch potato here, trying to be more active. Currently 6 months out. At 1week post op and through 2 months out I walked 4 days a week. At 3 months out, I began working out 2 days a week doing some type of cardio- elliptical or C25k app. Now at 6 months out, I workout 3 days a week for 1 hour with a personal trainer. I still do not enjoy exercise but realize that it is necessary if I ever want to get to goal and maintain my loss.
  2. ^^^^i'm in the boat with you. Lost 63 lbs since surgery. Things are slowing down. Hoping to kick up the exercise to get things moving. We'll see.
  3. I didn't cheat during the pre-op but boy did I want too! I felt so hungry and deprived. I posted here when I felt that way, got support and stayed the course. I think I was simply too scared of the what if. What if something went wrong during surgery or right after because of something I did. Those thoughts scared me straight. Keep the faith, you can do this.
  4. Exactly, you totally get it! LOL!
  5. Many people actually come out of the hospital heavier due to the IV fluids. It is definately too early for you to be worried about this. Give yourself time to heal. We all think the sleeve won't work for us or we will fail. Your sleeve will work for you, just not overnight.

    RIP

Congrats! I still have the rolls in the front but much of my back fat is gone.
  7. I don't have any restictions from my doctor on this but the safest bet is something over the counter like calcium carbonate aka Tums.

    Yogurt w fruit at bottom

I was supposed to avoid all yogurt with small seeds the first few weeks. Now I eat yogurt all the time. I usually get plain, nonfat Fage from Costco and Dannon light & fit greek yogurt at the grocery store. The Dannon has fruit on the bottom but I don't eat it because I don't want all the carbs in the fruit syrup.
  9. Thank you! My new favorite store is Ann Taylor. Never could shop there until a few months ago. :-)
  10. Checking in Feb sleevers. Down 80 lbs from this time last year. 60 lbs since surgery. I feel great.
  11. Down 80 lbs from this time last year. I'm getting into size 10 and mediums now instead of 20s and 2x.

  14. I see many bypass patients that look gaunt and have a really bad pallor in my surgeon's support group. I can't be certain but I think the malabsorption does it to them. This was one of the reasons I went with the sleeve. I also think what I eat makes a difference. I count protein and carbs but not fat. I eat healthy fats like nuts and avocado. My skins glows and I look way better now than when I weighed 250 lbs!
  15. Great job! I can eat noticeably more now also and my food issues rear their ugly heads every now and again too. Not keeping junk in the house makes a huge difference, otherwise I become powerless and cheez-its start calling my name from the pantry! Been doing the couch to 5K app on my phone. I really like it.
  16. Just to clarify. What settings/ treadmill modifications e.g. Incline, speed, etc will help replicate my run outside so I can switch back to outside later?
  17. Been doing the last few runs inside on treadmill due to the heat. What modifications do I need to do so I can still run outside once it cools off? I'm on week 4 day 1. Thanks

    Sliders

Pistachios, no idea why because other nuts sit heavy and fill me up. I can eat these for days.
