  1. Beach Lover is right except the private room piece may not be possible depending on your insurance. Only suprise I had was not being able to get in and out of bed on my own when I first got home. Should have gotten a little step by the bedside so I could have. Good luck and see you on the loser's bench!

    eating better

I felt the same way about Protein shakes. Everyone raves about Premiere shakes. I hated those and most other shakes. After drinking them for months, my tastes have adapted and I actually kind of like them now. Granted, I still drink them because I have to however I no longer dread them.
  3. I swear by my Twin Labs Bariatric Support calcium citrate. They are always on sale on at least one website or another. To keep costs low, I take 2 Flintstones complete multi-vitamins a day. Get the ones with iron already in them, avoid the rest. Also, I ordered free samples from several Bariatric vitamin makers, got enough b-12 that I won't have to buy it for months. There is a thread on here with who gives out samples.

    Shopping

I don't have much luck at Goodwill, etc as I work in a corporate office setting. However, I am also asking friends about clothing exchanges. I also shop sales racks. It's expensive but I'm worth it!
  6. Congrats on your loss however I get it. My goal is to be at a normal BMI too. Yes, BMI is just a number but I made that number my goal. My only though is related to exercise and BMR. How many calories are you taking in vs. burning. Also can you lift hand weights, etc to add muscle?

    help starting training tomorrow

Nothing scientific here, just sharing my experience. Weight training makes me hungrier so I usually eat about 150-200 calories extra on heavy exertion days. I try not to eat back all of my exercise calories since I am not at goal. I also up my water on those days too.
  9. Vitamins are tough, especially right after surgery. Consider a b-12 shot. They are monthly.

    Fiber

Not sure how far out you are talking. Right after surgery, no gummies but once you are on regular diet, it' s ok.
  11. I used rubbing alcohol as the strips lifted to remove the residue and stop the itching. Hope that helps.
  12. Walk today/now. Take it slow. I started with just going to the end of the street and back. Add a little more each day and try to walk once in the morning and one at night. At 10 days out it is way too soon to worry about a 5k but any walking you do will help clear your lungs from surgery and help you build back your endurance.
  13. Jenn, we are our worst critic. You look amazing. Great job! I prefer the girls a la natural. I'm not trying to lose this weight only to get big boobs that make me look heavy again. I do hope I can get a tummy tuck when I get to goal.
  14. I'm frustrated and also worried about how much more I can eat now. Anyone else's capacity scaring the cr*p out of them? Oye!

    Whole Foods Market

I'm lazy in the kitchen and these are just heat and eat. I usually add a little sauce and I'm set.

    Whole Foods Market

I get the organic chicken meatballs (Brat Hans brand) and organic deli meats (Applegate Farms).
  18. Wowza! Just looked at my VST profile and I am no longer obese on the BMI chart. I am now just 'overweight'. It is laughable to be excited about being overweight but I am! I loathe the word obese and now it no longer applies to me. Yeah!

    Weight Stall?

Stalls are typical at anytime. Early on the first one happens around 3 weeks out. Even when the scale is not moving, many people lose inches still. Take measurements so you have a record. You're doing great. It's totally normal to not feel restriction yet.
  20. Totally normal. Do your best to slow down but it is ok. Restriction comes as you move through the stages and get to solid foods.
  21. You can do a search for the specifics but the pouch test is a way to check the capacity of your sleeve. Yes, you can do it yourself.
  22. New Balance are great especially if, like me, you have wide feet.
