  1. Sleeve 4 me- Rather battle 12-15 pounds than 100 pounds any day. Now your like all you girlfriends that have those last few pounds to lose. You'll get there and I doubt it will take a year. Size 8 is still awesome. Great job!

    Height, Weight, And Size Poll

HW: 263 DOS: 232 CW: 137 I do still notice changes to my shape even though my weight has been stable for 6 months. I would like to lean out more to get to 130 lbs by April 2015. We'll see.

    Collarbone!

That is one of my favorite NSVs still to this day. Wait until you see the hollow under the collar bone too. Congrats!

    Isopure RTD

Yes you still need the water or dehydration will be an issue.

    Redding California?

Post- 19 months out. You can see my stats in the web version of Bariatric Pal.
  7. Non surgical vs. surgical i.e needing lipo to harvest the fat first. Plus if I don't love my result, it is temporary. Fillers last only 6-12 months. Not saying I wouldn't love a fat transfer to my cheeks but for now Juvederm will have to suffice until I have plastics.
  8. My doc said something similar and his final number was between 170-160 lbs (I'm 5'4"). I hit his number at 9 months out and then my personal goal of 140 lbs at 13 months out. Now I am 136-137 and at some point will buckle down to hit my stretch goal of 130. My point is that all of these numbers are within our control. You can hit 100% EWL, it's up to you.

    How to plan for maintenance?

I wanted maintenance to feel like I crossed a finish line but there was no parade or confetti. Instead maintenance has been a lot like losing phase with the exception of upping my calories by about 200 calories a day. Needless to say, it is a bit anticlimactic.

    Boobs & Butt

Gone and good riddance. I had a butt with a shelf on top. Now my butt has not only disappeared, it slide down my thighs! I'll take a flat, low hanging butt any day over the massive, shelf butt I had pre-op.
  11. 5'4" and ideal size is a 4. I can wear a 4-8 depending on who makes it. So I'm hoping to drop just a few pounds to be in a 4 more solidly.
  12. I can run a mile nonstop. I am really starting to like skinny jeans. I love lifting weights.
  13. Dumping with the sleeve is much less common than with RnY but neither is a guarantee. I have a sleeve of steel and now at 19 months out can eat anything. I talked to my NUT today about sugar and she told me I have to quit cold turkey. She said the first 10 days will be the hardest. Not looking forward to it, at all. They operate on your stomach not your brain. Talk to your doc and fully vet the bypass, set yourself up for success.

    supplements/crossfit

I went caffeine free for more than a year post op. I used Extend as a pre workout then. I did find however that adding back some caffeine improved my performance. I take super HD or Amino Energy now. Post workout, I eat proats (protein powder & oatmeal), scrambled eggs, or a protein shake.
  15. Old Navy is a good place to start. They have at least 6 different cuts of pants (flirt, rockstar, boyfriend, etc.) as well as jeans with differing amounts of stretch. This weekend, I tried on a pair of grey jeans in my usual ON cut and size but had to size down because they are so stretchy. You sound like a great candidate for all the skinny jeans out there. I too have a tummy so the rise of the pants make a huge difference. I always go for mid-rise jeans to hold me in. I can't handle shape wear under jeans, I always feel like the seams show. Good luck.
  16. I have done all of the above as well as I have resistance bands and a couple kettle bells. I got everything off of Craigslist or at Play It Again. I started with and still do a lot of body weight exercises. Body weight exercises are very effective. In the beginning I could barely do a push up on my knees and now I do three to five sets of 15 on my toes. I don't go to the gym but do a group circuit style work out in a local park once a week as well (bootcamp). So you may find closer to home options. There are lots of choices, have fun. Here's a muscle shot for inspiration, saggy batwings and all.
  17. I don't like how it logs you out of your current thread everytime you navigate away from the page. For example, if I respond to an incoming text while on BP, once I get back to BP, it relogs me in to the app and my place is lost. I do like the new navigation on the sidebar (iPhone). The ads come with every free app so no complaints.
  18. Just to tag on if UCD is not covered by your medical group. Dr. Eslami/Methodost Hospital is a center of excellence and has a really great support group that meets twice a month.

    Honeymoon

    Around 1 year out.
  20. I set other goals in addition to body weight. I set a weight goal, BMI goal and body fat goal. So my goals were to be 140 lbs or less, BMI of 24 or less and body fat under 30%.
  21. Maybe you can propose a some short tabata style workout. Anyone can do anything for 20 seconds. Perhaps he can ease you into this. See how he feels about something like this: Exercise: 1. Side To Side Run x 20 sec (10 sec break) 2. Seal Jack Plyometric Pushups x 20 sec (10 sec break) 3. Mountain Climbers x 20 sec (10 sec break) 4. Running On The Spot x 20 sec (10 sec break) 2 rounds for a total of 8 sets. Remember: ONLY REST FOR 10 SECONDS between sets! Good luck!

    New nutritionist?

There isn't much to change when incorporating strength training. Protien first, then veggies and complex carbs. As you gain mass, you may up your macros but the guidelines of most NUTs still apply. Rather than changing the diet, I think focusing on your body composition, lowering bf percentage and upping lean muscle mass are a great new goal to work toward.
  23. Chewables are fine. You might find that you can't tolerate them well at first, see how it goes the first week or so. i threw up the first time I took my vitamins, not pleasant but never had a problem after that. My surgeon prescribe a liquid pain reliever for my post op recovery but I didn't like being on the narcotic so I switched to Tylenol after 2 days. Eigthteen months later, I still take liquid Tylenol (for cramps) works faster than pills. I recommend it.
