  1. It has been awhile since I've posted a before and after. Hope it inspires anyone newly sleeved as to what is possible. Preop I was a size 22 now I wear a 4.
  2. Losing 7.5 pounds in a month is not a stall. If you are not eating the quality of food that you know you should and are concerned with a lack of weight loss. Haven't you answered your own question?
  3. Great job and keep it up!

How do I get in more fluids?

It's fairly standard not to hit 64 oz the first few days, you're still very swollen internally. Ideally if you are at 24 oz now, then tomorrow shoot for 30 oz and then add more and more. The good news is that for at least the past couple of days, you were still hydrated from the IV you had. So just make sure you keep increasing a bit more each day. You'll get there.

    Check out Dashing Dish website.
  6. About a week in. Good for you on toughing it out.

    Extra skin

Time and patience along with exercise make a difference. I have heard some people have success with fascia blasting.

    Need your help

Dust off your post op guidelines. Are you eating Protein first and then veggies or have simple carbs crept back in? Are you drinking at least 64 oz of Water? If you know you are making bad eating decisions, then it sounds like you need to decide to do things differently. When was the last time you visited your nutritionist? Usually people feel shame and avoid their NUT but frankly this is what they are trained for. What about a support group, is there one in your area? If so, go visit them. Good on you for acknowledging that you are struggling. Only you can committ to doing something about it.
  9. I agree that for most, there will be skin laxity. The variations come with age, how overweight you are, for how long, etc. Regardless, a solid training plan that mixes cardio with resistance training is well rounded and a good plan for most people. I was inactive prior to surgery so I did Couch to 5K (C25k) initally along with hiring a personal trainer to teach me proper form and progression with weights. I highly recommendhiring a trainer if you are able. If not, Strong Lifts 5x5 is a good program as is the "New Rule of Weight Lifting for Women" book.
  10. When you are cleared for regular diet by your surgeon

    Gym

If you are 8 week out, then your surgeon should have cleared you now or will very shortly. When do you see him/her again? I was cleared at 6 week to resume exercise.

    Beer

You can but honestly beer is the last thing I would choose early on. The carbonation is a killer with such a small stomach. I mean, serious discomfort and bloating. For me, wine was a better choice but know that I didn't have any alcohol until I was 9 months out and had lost a majority of my excess weight.

    This says it all..

Kinda... If that was the case, then we all could have lost weight just by going on a diet. A positive outlook in life is a good thing as is wanting to change but I couldn't wish away my fat no matter how great my desire was.
  15. For anyone who uses My Fitness Pal to track, this is a feature.
  16. I wasn't allowed to have juice and Miralax did not work for me either but Ducolax was a life saver. Make sure you are hitting your Water goals of at least 64 oz/day. Just know that we are eating so little early on that not going everyday may be your new normal. TMI warning- I'm 4 years out and I still do not BM everyday. I only consider myself "backed up" if I don't go for more than 72 hours. Pre-op I went daily.
  17. I do this too! In the first year, I bought a dress was a smaller size that I wanted to fit into for my birthday. Now at 4 years out, I still use this strategy at least once or twice a year to stay on track or to reach a new WL goal (and now I have a lot of cute dresses to boot!).
  18. Hi Misty, no plastics yet. I have loose skin but have reduced my body fat enough that it is not that noticeable. I would love a tummy tuck though. Maybe one day...[emoji4]
  19. You're healing so well! Congratulations. I am impressed by smooth how your thighs are now. I hear such mixed reviews in thigh lifts. Thank you for sharing.
  20. I did prior to surgery but with my weight loss that resolved and don't have reflux anymore.

  22. I set a goal and a stretch goal. I have found that I really like having a bounce range or cushion so that I'm not constantly struggling to stay at one number. I highly recommend people go 5 lbs under goal.
  23. My stomach is always the first place I puff out, followed by my hips. Then I lose it in reverse as well, hips go down before stomach.
