  1. I have thin days and fat days but so do my friends who have never had surgery. Unfortunately, I let the scale rule my perception of myself too much.
  2. Omeprazole is a ppi. In general, using it to control acid early on is a good idea, would not hurt to try it. I took it for several months post op. I would not rule out eating yet. Irritating your esophagus by eating too much and/or too fast often causes excess saliva as food can back up into your throat.

    Using a personal trainer pre-op?

I didn't tell my PT pre or post op about my WLS, it was simply none of her business.
  4. 139.9 - I'll take it!
  5. When I gain, it is because I am not sticking to my plan. When I go 100 grams of carbs or less and exercise a little extra, I lose. Now if it was only so easy to stick to that.

    Who's still around?

This is so me. I gain and lose the same 5-10 pounds every month.

    Who's still around?

    Get well soon, Jane.

    Who's still around?

Glad you are back. Maybe the "what did you eat today" thread can be revived. Would like to hear how Weight Watchers goes.
  9. I echo the changes that other have remarked on, men flirt more, ladies chat more, etc. For me, though, it is the non verbals that I noticed the most. People used to literally give me a wide birth when I would walk by or grimace if I asked if the the airplane seat next to them was taken. The nonverbal was a constant reminder of what people were thinking even if they liked me and would never say it out loud.

    Stuck.... Grrrr

14-21 lbs in two weeks?! That is not stuck. Stay hydrated, walk, and focus on healing. Trust the process.
  11. 142 but it's that TOM.
  12. I have toyed with the idea of becoming a personal trainer for about a year now.
  13. I do fasted workouts in the morning but on days I workout later in the day, I just eat my regular meals and snacks making sure I finish my meal at least an hour before working out. If I am hungry with less than an hour before exercise, I just have light snack like a protein shake.
  14. I had trouble with veggies and chicken (if it didn't have sauce) early on. Had to stick with moister, less fibrous foods.

    Dizziness/Feeling of fainting

Sip, sip, sip....Happens to me often since surgery, especially when I am working in the yard. For me, it is always related to dehydration.
  16. I eat a protein bar, like Quest or Combat Crunch, for breakfast and a snack. Lunch is almost always a salad.
  17. ^^^^ what Jane said except 3 yrs and 112lbs.

What can I do with...Brussels Sprouts?

I make Brussel sprout chips. Cut off end, peel off large outer leaves, lightly toss the leaves in olive oil, sprinkle with salt, spread in single layer and bake until crispy. I then sauté the inner sprout that's left in a pan in ways mentioned by others above. Two dishes, one ingredient for the win!

    Best Grocery Store Finds!

Carrot chips- It's a carrot, it's a chip! Seriously though, I love these way more than baby carrots because I can put "stuff" on them like Greek yogurt dip or PB just as you would a potato chip but it's still just a carrot.
  20. P.S. I changed my workout entries on MFP to 1 calorie so that I don't eat back my exercise calories or have it inflate my macros.
