Veterans ONLY please. One year + post op.
erp replied to LipstickLady's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I use Kind brand B12 which is a spray but not sublingual. I have to be pretty dedicated to get my vit D up. I too take a mega dose, started at once a week and then taper to once a month plus I take daily calcium citrate with D. I also eat a lot of dairy. I find bariatric vitamins vary significantly in price and quality so I take a prenatal multi vitamin along with fish oil. Now my dr is adding a probiotic to the mix but it's not required, he just recommended it so I'm just going to try it. -
Scale up a couple today. I've been traveling. Going to reign it in and get a bit strict the next week. Hope to shed 2-3 lbs of water by this time next week.

Keep doing what you are doing. Sagging arms, legs, or whatever are going to happen regardless. Exercise will improve your body shape. Sagging happens not from exercise but because we were overweight.

Didn't lie about my weight when I renewed my driver's license for the first time EVER.

What’s the Most Awkward Part of WLS?
erp replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This one I just don't have words for; I hope it make sense. Now that I have lost weight people are much more open about their weight biases. I have a coworker who keeps remarking how "happy" my husband must be now that I am thinner-- uh, he and I didn't know he was "unhappy" before. In fact he misses some parts of plumper me (butt/boobs). I was over 200lbs when I met my husband. Another person shared snide remarks with me about people who have "let themselves go and how unrecognized able they are". Both of these people knew me at my heaviest and now at my lightest. Confronting weight bias post WLS has been the most awkward thing for me, I feel unprepared to address it. -
Mine said ok to ibuprofen if I take a PPI first. Not sure how that works though as far as why.

Need help about what's some good ideas of food to eat on a 1200 calories diet
erp replied to D'Sleeved's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pre op- volume mattered to me. Big salads, big stir fries, etc. made me feel like I could still eat plenty but it was all still low calorie. -
The difference between 27 and 30 grams of protein is 12 calories. Kudos for following Dr.s orders but you are being a bit too literal. If you like Premier, drink it unless there is another reason.

Soft Solid Foods Question
erp replied to thisgirlhunts's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Seeds were a no-no during clear and full liquids on my program (first two weeks). Not sure how quickly your program advances you to soft foods- probably a good idea to call your NUT. -
Ground, whole seeds aren't digestible.

I am apparently in the minority. I didn't have much before- relative to my overall size/weight but I like my little boobies now. From a 44C to a 34B. They hang low but they still point in the right direction so I don't care. I would only consider an augmentation if I were to get a lift and to even them out (they're sisters not twins ).

I struggled with veggies that had skins or were fibrous, e.g. cherry tomatoes or sting Beans. Definitely experiment but overall moist, soft veggies worked best for me initially, e.g. sauteed zucchini or veggies that I overcooked a bit.

Stretching helps to release the lactic acid build up. Given that you took yesterday off, depending on how you feel you can take another day or go lighter today.
-
In general, surgeons aren't looking for post WLS skin to reuse as it is stretched out. A teaching hospital may offer some kind of deal for plastics if residents can assist or otherwise learn from it.

It's DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) from the jump rope.

Second, Third, and Fourth Thoughts.
erp replied to byako's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@AvaFern is completely accurate. However many of us don't have healthy relationships with food. So while none of those things like eating and drinking will kill you, many of the rules are in place because of our unhealthy behaviors with food. OP, I think having doubts is good. What you haven't mentioned is what you will do differently, beyond surgery to be successful. Will you start exercising? I did, I even hired a trainer to help me get started. Will you work with mental health professionals? You may already based on your anxiety/depression- so how about your emotional eating? Will you bring support people into your life? I still go to support group meetings a few times a year. Doubts are good. They mean you need a plan. Go make one. -
I have loose skin- I don't believe that waist training would have changed that. I wore Spanx a lot the first year or two and still have loose skin.

My first NSV was having only one chin.

What happens when a sleever reaches old age and low appetite?
erp replied to TracyBar's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Am I the only one who read this and thought,"Finally! An upside to getting older, eating less". At least now I have something to look forward to. Lol [emoji6]
