it is 8 months now since you posted this. But I was wondering if you are still living in cary. I just moved to cary too and looking for support groups or weight management centers. If you can help me in anyway it will be great. Thank you in advance -
New Here And New To Sleeve Surgery
Newlady replied to Debbi Farmer's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
hello MzPecanbrown, wow thats awesome you lost so much weight. I had vertical sleeve surgery on july 16th in california. I moved recently to raleigh , nc. I have lost 30 lbs since surgery. it is stalled for now. I dont see any weight loss. Also i am worried about what kind of workout i should be doing. I was wondering if you could give me info about weight loss management centers for weight loss surgery patients that would specifically know how to handle patients like me. Thank you in advance -

I hope you feel better. What my doctor told me helped me a lot with my gas problem. Intact he told me it was not gas problem but It is struggle that fluids have to get into small hole around the swelling from stitches where stomach starts. All he asked me was to sip and walk? I feel tired after I walk for some time probably becuase i had spider sleeve. So only one incision around navel. I think the time to heal is longer as that single incision takes a lot of beating during surgery.

Actually my doctor told me that the swelling of the surgery causes this feeling. I used to get nausea for first couple of days even if I had sip of water go down my mouth. It is restriction of fluid where swelling of stomach stiches start. The narrower the path into stomach, the more excruciating the pain is.

I got sleeved on July 16th. How are you coping?first two days were horrible for me. A lot of gas issues. Now i am better. I am hardly getting in one protein shake and nothing more than 16oz of water per day. Other than that I don't have any problems. I am worried about leaks that might develop during healing process.

Hello iegal, I am planning to get my surgery done there by Dr. Quebbeman too. My insurance doesnt cover the surgery. So I am still comtemplating to pay by myself. I just want to have some boost to get it done. Could you please let me know how comfortable is the whole procedure including tests/ pre-op / post op diet( provided I am paying for the whole procedure)? Thank you for your time in advance.
