Any Good Recipes For Chocolate Protein Powder?
Nate replied to gettinMeBack's topic in Vegetarian, vegan, raw foods
I like to put the Chocolate Protein in my decaf coffee. I don't use any sweeteners or anything so it isn't very sweet. -
A lot of people will say yes and have had it during their liquid pre op diet. I think it might be helpful for overcoming not being able to eat anything. At least with the jello you're going through the motions of chewing and swallowing it like normal food. When in doubt, ask your Doc, they will be able to clear up any confusion you have.

Drinking one of the V8 Fusions shouldn't be too bad as long as it's only once a day. That will help. I'm pretty sure we take the Vitamins to supplement what we lose out on by eating such small amounts of fruits and veggies now. It was also suggested to me by both my Surgeon and NUT that for at least one snack a day I eat some carrot and celery sticks. So every few days I cut up a whole bunch to keep in the fridge to snack on. They're really good dipped in Hummus. Hope I was some help

I actually have 3 different totals. There's my highest weight ever. When I finally said enough is enough I need to lose weight and tried doing it on my own. I lost some but not much. Then there's the weight I was on the day on my first consultation with my Surgeon. He wanted me to keep trying to lose some weight before surgery cuz every pound dropped helps. And then the weight I weighed the morning of surgery. Going by the weight the morning of surgery I'm down 70lbs Going by the weight the day of the Consultation I'm down over 100lbs Going by the highest weight Ive been I'm down about 135lbs

I Need To Hear Sucsessful Stories....
Nate replied to pinktink91024's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was scared right up til the Anesthesia guy knocked me out. After I went out, it seemed like I woke up immediately almost like no time had passed. I was a little groggy but amazingly in ZERO pain. The nurses and my Surgeon were impressed, I was up and walking 2 hours after the surgery like nothing had happened. The only thing I had that was close to pain was a little discomfort from the drain. I will admit that while my experience was pain free, it did wear me out. The week after surgery I felt like a whipped dog and was tired as heck and did nothing but want to sleep most of the time. Hopefully you have a similar pain free experience. Everything is going to go well, and dont worry they'll give you some good pain meds in case you do have any pain! Good luck! -
My advice would be to check out new Surgeons. I was Diabetic. My Doc took me off my meds day after surgery and I've been off them ever since, going on almost 4 months now. My blood sugar level is consistently between 90-100 now and the highest Ive seen it was 115 since surgery

Sugar Free Vs No Sugar Added
Nate replied to erinsdsu's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
yes baby foods are fine once you reach the pureed stage of your diet. I ate them for a while myself. as are soups like cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, cream of broccoli etc, as long as you strain the solids out of them first or blend them up real good. -

Sugar Free Vs No Sugar Added
Nate replied to erinsdsu's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes it's fine to have it. Just don't drink gallons of it because of the natural sugars in it. 20g isn't that much, but it does add up over the course of the day. -
Sugar Free Vs No Sugar Added
Nate replied to erinsdsu's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Things that say they're No Sugar Added have the natural sugars in them from whatever ingredients it is made from. Sometimes it is a little sugar, sometimes it is a lot. You need to be careful when it comes to the No Sugar Added gimmick and read the nutrition info label. -
Just be patient. The initial loss is mostly water weight. It's going to take some time for your body to adjust to the changes and actually let your metabolism kick in and start losing. It's going to happen, trust me. Give it some time and don't worry!
