Omg I Just Ate Cake 8 Days After Surgery
Nate replied to Mishy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh yea sugar free popcicles and fudgecicles were a saving grace as well. Felt like I was eating something I shouldn't when I had those and helped with the mental aspect of it all some. -
Omg I Just Ate Cake 8 Days After Surgery
Nate replied to Mishy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Puddiing, Jello, Cream Of ____ soups, and Cream Of Wheat we're what got me through the liquid stage. I do admit though that I cheated 3 weeks out and had a slice of pizza and suffered for it. -
Any One Have Trouble With The No Drinking With Food?
Nate replied to Aug2ndsleever's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
The reason we're not supposed to drink before eating is to actually leave room in our tiny stomach's for the little bit of food we get to eat. The main reason for not drinkingwhile eating is to prevent from washing the food through the stomach and intestines too quickly and not allowing our bodies to absorb the needed nutrients. Having said that i do have to admit that I do take a sip of Water every now and then while I'm eating. I cant help it. And I figure a few small sips shouldn't really hurt. It's not like I'm downing a whole glass of something and flushing the food through. -
2 Months Post-Op: Biggest Problem With The Sleeve!
Nate replied to disneyteach's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Went out to eat with the fiance for the first time since I got sleeved yesterday. Ordered Cajun Talapia and managed to eat about half of the piece of fish since it wasn't that big and a few french fries. I just ordered water and didn't bother drinking anything but a few small sips before the food arrived because it was pretty hot out. -
Nah I'm pretty sure the original poster means post sleeve. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to be a smart ass lol.

Seriously though I'm not much of a drinker. So if and or when I do have anything it will probably be a gin and cranberry or something similar.

When I was 15, it was a cheap nasty Genny Cream Ale

Wow sorry to hear. Hope you feel better soon.

If it spreads or starts to swell, Id say go to the ER. I ended up with a clot in my arm a week after surgery from the I.V. during my stay. It started out like a minor pain about 2in above my wrist, 2 days later it was swollen and spread to my hand and half way up my arm. Wasn't warm at all or red, but it was still a clot that ran from my hand to my elbow. I thought it was just tendionitis

Are we allowed to have them? I love Cashews. And I know nuts are an excellent source of Protein. But can we digest them properly now and all that good stuff? I'd hate to think I could never have a cashew again in my life Anyone know?

I'm just 6 weeks out. Was just wondering... Saw a Planters Nuts commercial on TV a few minutes ago and it got me thinking lol.

Each and every person is different. All depends on how your body reacts to the stress and trauma of the surgery. I had absolutely zero pain after surgery but for the following 2 weeks I felt like a whipped mule. Just take each day in stride, rest as much as you can and you'll be up and around before you know it.

July 11. Surgery Day Is Here.

Best wishes... you're gonna do great! -
Good luck... you're gonna do great!

As long as you're getting your fluids in I think you're OK drinking mostly at night. Everyone keeps different schedules after all.

I'm sure you could. Of course there would be MAJOR complications if someone ever OD'd on the X and had to have their sleeved stomach pumped. So I would advise against it.

Most Humiliating Fat Moment
Nate replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't allowed myself the opportunity to have a moment such as these. Once I realized I was too fat I stopped hanging out with any of my friends or doing the holidays or family functions out of embarrassment. In the past 15 years I've missed family and friends weddings, graduations, family reunions, the funerals of 3 different friends, a cousin, one of my favorite uncles, and my grandfather. Worst of all, if I wasn't such a fat ass, I could have probably been there to prevent the suicide of my best friend instead of hiding in the house hoping not to be seen by anyone out of fear of what they might think or say. For that I'll never forgive myself. -
Just had a braut with a bun yesterday. Just try it when you think you're ready, and go with small bites. If the bread doesn't agree with you, you can always take it away and still eat the dog and kraut.

Judging by some of the things you've said about your feelings about your boyfriend, the relationship should have been over a long time ago. If you want my advice, it's time for a clean break and brand new start pertaining to your life without him and you life with your sleeve. That's just my two cents though. I can only go by what I've read. You need to do some searching in your heart and do what feels right for you.

Ive Failed At My Pre Op Liquid Diet
Nate replied to skinnycupcake13's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
You should be ok. The point of the diet is to help shrink the liver. As long as you didn't go wild eating everything in site, covered in lard, and chased with a Pepsi... just resume the diet and DONT DO IT AGAIN! You can do this!! -
Mmmmmmm I love hominy sauteed in a little butter with a dash of salt and pepper. LOVE IT! Hopefully i can have a few bites of it again in the future. Seems like every Doc's restrictions are different. I say if ya want something try it in a small amount. If it doesn't agree with youor digest properly, then ya know not to have it again.
