    Anyone from the Maryville/Knoxville Area?

I am waiting to hear from my insurance company. I was denied the first go around and now waiting to hear about the second. I will self pay if I don't get approved. I went to the support group held first thursday of every month in the BM Auditorium. It was great. There were women there who had lost 125lbs or more in about a year. They were encouraging and honest about their experiences. None regret having the surgery even though a few have had some minor complications. As far as self pay goes, you have to think about what your longterm health is worth. To me it is definitely worth the $14,000 or so it would cost to do the surgery. Private message me if you want to talk more and I hope to see you at the Lapband support meetings every month.

    Any Younger Bansters Here?

For those of you in school, have you told your friends and classmates? I don't really want to tell anybody that I am going to have this procedure. I am not ashamed, I just don't want to deal with people judging me. I know that once I have the surgery and get back to school in the fall, my friends are going to notice. Any suggestions or experiences that can help?

    Any Younger Bansters Here?

I began inquiring about surgery in Feb. 2007 and my insurance denied my procedure a week ago. I am in the processing of resubmitting and I pray that they will approve me. I really hope to be in surgery sometime next month. Being a college student, summer is the best time for such a procedure. I just can't wait any longer. Like the rest of you, I am tired of being overweight. I also have to deal with PCOS and IR which makes losing weight nearly impossible. I am beinging a Preop diet of protein shakes and lean cuisines. Hopefully this will make me lose enough weight before surgery. I would love to here from more of you about your experiences. Awaiting approval.
