    Newly sleeved 2.28.13

I'm 5'6. My surgery day weight was 296. I started at 313. My highest weight ever. Ive hung out around 286-297 for something like 7 months and today I weighed 268.7 . I weighed myself 3 times making sure my eyes were right haha I havent seen that number in years. I was never worried about a leak either funny cause I happened to be the 1/100 who had 1. felt better today tho had refried beans and cheese was soo yummy. Drs visit on Thursday hoping to have at least 2/3 drains removed. When do your staples get removed? Tummy is still sore, laid on my tummy gently yesterday. It was a nice relief altho I ended up sleeping on my back.

    Newly sleeved 2.28.13

sleeved on 2/26 and sleep has been the worst. I can gently sleep on my right side but I move a lot normally and I'm stuck to my back a lot which has caused all sorts of back issues and kinks in my neck. I take the tylenol plus codiene which helps to sleep as I'm running a low temperature on and off. had a leak after surgery and was in the hospital for 10 days. it was definatley not fun. ive had 3 drains placed. hoping to have them out Thursday.id say they are more uncomfortable than my incisions. started at 313 lbs and currently 274 is where I'm at. I'm glad were all around the same time sleeved. would love to keep in touch with others like me. gas is uncomfortable but usually in my left shoulder. its all pretty manageable I drink protien shakes and eat yogurt. I cant wait to chew something!! lol I dream of steak or lettuce but patience is a virtue I guess.
  3. After a year if complications, drs, nutritionists and insurance hang ups I was sleeved Feb 26. I had a leak and formed abscessed afterward and now have 3 drain tubes. I was so in the hospital for 10 days and now find myself dreaming of food. I've been on jello and chicken broth and was recently graduates to yogurt consistancy. Best ive had was drained chixken tortilla soup broth but I want flavor!! And help??

  5. It has been exactly a year since I've gone to my doctor and began looking into weight loss options. I was supposed to be sleeved in October but insurance foul-ups and delays made it to where I didnt even think my insurance was gonna approve it. I had given up on the surgery. A week ago surprisingly I got a call from the bariatric center that I was approved! It was surreal, and took me by surprise. Had my surgery consultation and the date is set for Feb. 4th! Ive never been thin my entire life. My anxiety is through the roof. Im nervous and scared, its a completley new life awaiting me. 6 Weeks after surgery Im moving to Lafayette, Louisiana from Nebraska. Ive never been to Louisiana ever. So needless to say this is the start of a brand new me. A brand new home, brand new body, I dont know how Ill cope. Im already teary eyed thinking about it. sometimes change can be scary but Im stayin optimistic! Kendra :)
  6. Good to hear. Alot of people I know don't jump rope or play with their kids, they sit and watch. I don't want to watch, I want to play too! Lol (without hurting my body) My knees are bad. I just had acl/miniscus/bone work done on my femur, and I dont want my weight slowin me down in that aspect either. Imagine what well be able to do when we are skinny, that wears us out now. I play with my nephews and 20 mins our so and I'm tired. I can't run without being quickly winded. Gonna say goodbye to all of it!

    Finally have a date!

My goal is 155. Maintenance would be awesome. Also hearing that from a fellow farmlander is awesome. I'm hoping I'm gonna like it alot and my boyfriend keeps trying to get me to find some cajun good that I can eat. He doesnt understand that I'm not going to be able to at first lol.
  8. Feb. 4Th here. Set and ready. Start my pre op diet on Monday. Nervous. Moving to Louisiana in March. Western Nebraska is my current home. Im 24, 5'6 and 286 started at 313 last April. My bmi was 51 and now its 46. cant wait to see a average number I want to have kids and be able to enjoy them. I really want to be able to play with them and not have to sit on the sidelines. I have alot of obese friends with kids and I see them not enjoying their children add they would like to and I don't want to be like that. This is for my future and my future families. We want kids in about a year from now were gonna try.

    Louisiana sleevers?

Thx. I was also gonna ask my surgeon here for a referral. I know im in for a culture shock. My fiance was here for college and hes warned me about it. The only thing im worried about is the humidity in the summer and the sun. I'm allergic to the sun (pmle) so it will be interesting to see how I adjust.
  12. I was supposed to have my sleeve done in October of last year but insurance hold UPS have made it to where I schedule my surgery tomorrow. I'm nervous and I start my liquid diet tomorrow. My question is, is that I am from Nebraska and moving to Lafayette, Louisiana on Feb 11. Where would a good follow up dr. be located at? This will b my first time in Louisiana. Any help is appreciated.

awesome. it's always good to see sleevers close by. Im in Nebraska, about 3 1/2 hours from denver. Sleeve date is end of sept early october, hopefully the earlier one, im too anxious. Work ur sleeve!
  18. I haven't been approved i have a month and a half left of my 6 month diet and exercise with the nut and dr. left until i can submit. so far it looks like if i meet the requirements everything should be good and i have. my mom just had the surgery and has lost 15 lbs in the first week. I have a 3 weeks of crutches left (ugh.) surgery date will be end of september early october, if by chance my insurance (blue cross blue shield) doesn't approve it the hospital has self pay option for 150 a month which is totally doable. they have been more than helpful and the hospital here and the wls dept is amazing! I have many friends who have gone through them.
  19. Mine was when i tore my acl/miniscus from playin basketball because of the weight on my body 2 months til sleevie!

Hows life been in ur first week? A friend of mine had hers done on June 19 and is already down over 30 lbs. So i have a couple of people locally as well as our local weight loss surgery support group which consits of 8-10 people but oddly enough alot of them are male. Im pretty open about my weight with family and close friends but the embarressment is still there with strangers. I cant wait to change my life and be able to wear normal clothes like all the other ppl my age.

    September/october Sleevers ?

Really that is awesome, my boyfriend lives in Henderson. I do in home care so I get to watch my clients eat after i cook for them. It's the fumes that get me! I couldn't imagine having a whole line full of food, but are you allowed to go outside. I would go get a breath of fresh air maybe?
