I'm going to Cyprus tomorrow for my band fitted on Saturday,. It was half the price of the UK. I'm self funded as I knew my GP and consultant wouldn't even consider it. Plus I needed it doing now...not 2 years down the line at the end of a waiting list. When I told my GP and my consultant what I was considering they were horrified. They both offered me drugs! I politely declined and am looking forward to a healthier lifestyle...me & my band.

I fly to Cyprus tomorrow for my surgery on Saturday. I will be offline until I return next week. Good luck to everyone that is being banded this week and next. My band and I will be back online next Thursday. Jane x

I'm a Dyslexia Assesor and tutor at my local college, Rochdale, Lancashire, UK. I also teach key skills IT and have in the past taught ESL. I get banded next week during half term. I have 1 week to get back on my feet and recover from my op before the new term starts. Jane x

Good luck to everyone who has recently been banded and is due to be banded in the next few days. I'm towards the end of the month so I have a way to go yet. Nerves are killing me! My plane tickets arrived today...that makes it a little more real. Take care everyone x

I ask this question because I have not been told to go on a pre-op diet. I am a little worried because it seems nearly all of you were on one before your op. Any input would help allay my worry. Thanks:nervous

Thanks Faith...I hope yours goes well. I think I will be moderate for the week before anyway. It can't hurt.

I feel like a kid counting down to Christmas....I can't wait for May 26th...how many more sleeps? It can't come soon enough for me.:clap2:

Hi My name is Jane and I have booked with Dr Kyriakides in Cyprus, although I believe he also works at Birmingham & Harley Street in the UK. I am booked in for a band 26th May 2007. I have read and research and I think I am now confusing myself. Basically I am now not sure if the band is the right one for me. I keep nudging back towards a RNY. Although I don't want surgery to be this drastic... but on the other hand it comes off and stays off...doesn't it? Can you help?:help: In your opinions what are the pros and cons of a band vs RNY.
