when i had my first sleeve i didnt have any acid issues. when i got resleeved last august i got acid issues and i was taking my 20mg ppi every morning before eating anything. now i stopped taking ppi cause of what i read about the long term side side effects. ive been without my ppi for about a month now, its tolerable and i think my body is adjusting slowly and fighting the acid reflux on its own.

Ok, I am officially insane!

slider foods will always "slide". just like mom2irishtwins said, if you eat healthier things youll find that they dont slide easily. like eggs, veggies and fruits and healthier carbs but i think ur too early for that. anything considered junk food will slide through your sleeve like potatoe chips, chocolate, hush puppies and such, basically carbs and no nutritional value foods. -
hi all i was resleeved on the 18th by dr aceves here in mexicali. i had my sleeve 2 years ago and i lost weight but started to regain 8 months ago like crazy. i contacted dr aceves and sent him my barium tests and he said that my sleeve is huge and he can trim the extra parts of it. i came to mexicali through san diego, the drive was uneventful. everyone here is very nice and sweet. the first day i cant remember anything since i was drugged out, the second day was HELL lotsa pain, gas pain. third day got better and today im feeling great. i will be staying at the lucerna for the next few days as i have travelled from a long way away, till i feel perfect then go back home in the middle east. any questions just ask.

9 Months Out And Just Started Vomiting ? Weird
aceves_soon replied to TexasSteph's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
if for the past nine months youve been eating healthy i.e. no greasy food or stuff like that, then yes that will happen. i remember with my first sleeve, several months out when i decided to eat something unhealthy after months of eating healthy, i instantly became sick, nauseated, fever-like feeling and then vomited. -
oh really? so there arent people that are starving in your first world country Canada?

Healing Stomach = No Appetite
aceves_soon replied to seelessofme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
from my experience, anything with a liquid consistency at that is warm, except for water, goes down well steadily. i just put everything into the blender and make it liquid and heat it up lol -

Re-Sleeved With Dr Aceves
aceves_soon replied to aceves_soon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
thanx all for your responses and encouragement. i was hesitant at first to go through with surgery as there arent alot of experiences online with resleeving, however after months of research and asking dr aceves questions daily, i made up my mind to finally do it. as for my previous sleeve, the first surgeon did not cut enough out to guarantee long term restriction, its his technique i guess. as for dilation, it happens frequently in some parts of the stomach as it did happen to me. as for foods that can and might stretch the sleeve, im not sure. i am a vegetarian, the hard and dense food i eat come from tofu and legumes. i dont eat meat which is even harder food, but my stomach dilated and stretched never the less. the medical system where i come from is very complicated. to consider asking for a free revision or a refund is totally out of the question, it just doesnt happen. dr aceves is a very kind man, he made sure im happy and comfortable with the care im having. all of his staff, dr campos, karla, yolanda, nina, the nurses the janitors everyone theyre very kind nice and always have a smile on their faces. im recouperating at the lucerna for the next few days, im feeling great. -
Re-Sleeved With Dr Aceves
aceves_soon replied to aceves_soon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my sleeve was done by a local doctor back in my country in the middle east. i chose dr aceves after tons of research on the best revision surgeons in the world, he is very very far away from where i live 16 hours flight but i wanted to be in safe hands with someone experienced in revision surgeries. as for my weight loss, my new sleeve now looks like a normal sleeve when compared to my previous huge sleeve. i am feeling great now on my fourth day, i will stay at the hotel for a few days just as a precaution, then fly back home in a few days. you are in good hands, hes really great and all of his team is great. -
Re-Sleeved With Dr Aceves
aceves_soon replied to aceves_soon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my first surgeon is not known on this board, as i am not from the usa, canada , Mexico or europe i am from the middle east. as per what dr aceves told me, yes my first surgeon did not remove enough of my stomach to keep restriction for a long time, and also my sleeve was dilated with time. -

dr aceves said that my first surgeon left too much behind in the first place, he didnt remove enough plus some dilation of the sleeve -
i am also a failure i guess, if we can call ourselves that. my surgery date was similar to yours and now i gained back 60 pounds in 4 months i was supposed to be resleeved a month ago, i rescheduled for private reasons to september 16th, getting resleeved with dr aceves.

Ok So Now I'm Scared
aceves_soon replied to roriep's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i am 2 years out myself. like the others have mentioned it is a tool that you have to be commited to. but some of us, our bodie will fail them, like mine. my restriction stopped a year post VSG and then on, it was my job to restrict myself from eating and doing all the excercises possible etc. however my body works in a weird way. when i dont eat at all i lose wieght very fast, then as soon as i put anything in my mouth i start gaining. so now since im gaining weight i decided to get resleeved and im doing it next month with dr aceves. i dieted for a year and my body will not lose or maintain the low weight unless nothing enters my stomache! its soo weird. i did eat healthy, i did excercise i did everything to the letter, but my body failed me again. -

Getting Re Sleeved
aceves_soon replied to aceves_soon's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
thanks for sharing, it makes me a little bit less nervous to know that they had it with dr aceves. im glad they didnt have any problems. i will update on here how it goes with me :-) -
i had my sleeve in mid 2010 and lost alo of wieght since i wasnt eating anything. i was literally living on very low calorie liquids, because of the very restrictive nature of my sleeve and the pain i got when i ate. three months ago all of a sudden my sleeve is able to accomodate any type of food in any ammount at any time, i also have hunger pains back and i can eat and eat and eat its soo weird, i only eat healthy food, no bad carbs and very low good carbs, lots of veggies and good Protein (soy, i dont eat meat) and stuff like that, i dont eat sugar or drink sugary stuff often. i started gaining back weight by the day its very frustrating, its like i wont stay thin unless i starve myself and as soon as i put anything, anything in my mouth i gain 20 pounds over night. i contacted dr aceves and nina sent me the questionaires and found it really weird that my sleeve can carry that much food. she detemined how much food i can eat by asking how much i can eat on a course of a full day and she was shocked. since i am not from usa or canada or Mexico, im from kuwait, she said that dr aceves has no info on how they perform sleeves here and he needs to see me, he agreed to resleeve but only after seeing me and examining me. i told her i will be in Tijuana in july for my butt lift as a result of my weight loss and it would be nice if i can do my resleeve after my butt lift since its a very long long long flight from kuwait to mexico, now shes just trying to see how she can convince dr aceves to do my resleeve after my buttlift.

Im Starting To Regret My Decision
aceves_soon replied to ooffa511's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
this is normal trust me it will get better. your stomach is healing an still swollen, your new stomach is trying to adapt to the new anatomy and all of the other body functions are readapting to the new addition to their family per se hehehe. healing requires alot of hydration and since you already cant enough liquids and other things into the stomach the body will try to hydrate itself from inside causing dehydration. just hang in there and try your best, you will love it after 2 to 3 months or maybe less.
