I am 65 and had the surgery on 2/5/13. The pain after surgery was managable. After care is important. I had pain meds and nausea meds during surgery. I have not had nuasea or vomiting and seem to be able to tollerate most foods--haven't gone wild with trying new things. It did take over three weeks for the pain of surgery to deminish. The weight is coming off slowly-- only 32 pds down but considering the low side effects I have experienced I will take it. I was concerned about my recovery after reading some of the posts of younger people. Don't let a few years discourage you from surgery. Sent 3/21/13.
