Anne, I think you still get the prize for this thread, OMG, that had to be horrible. At least with your butt exposed, no one bothered to check out your face, therefore, you left everyone thinking, who was that!
-
Sorry about your port, hope all goes well. Stay in touch and keep us informed.

Thanks everyone, I checked out the Levi website, OMG, $198 for a pair of jeans, I haven't paid money like that since my first pair of Calvin Kleins 25 years ago $68.00, a mere fortune back then, LOL. I bought a pair of boots the other day with some very high heels, at least for me, I'm half way afraid I'm gonna fall off and break an ankle, they make me walk funny too, I look like I got a corncob up my butt.

Most of us can feel our port, but not our band or the tube connecting the band and port. Before I was banded and shortly there after, I seemed to dwell on the fact I had foreign objects in my body, but then so did my grandmother when she had her hip replaced, which she never rejected. The only time I think about my band is when something gets stuck, or when I'm turning over in bed, I wonder if I pulled my tube loose from my port, LOL. Good Luck!

Thanks for the suggestion, I hadn't even thought about checking out WalMart, I can pick out several styles there, try them on at home and take them back easily there. Thanks again.

Went to the local seafood festival last night, OMG, I had the best she-crab soup. I also ate a soft shell crab, the entire thing, but then again it was a baby one, LOL. No bread, just the crab, it was delicious. It's just amazing to me the fried crab went down just fine, but if I'd tried to eat some beef or chicken, I'd have been looking for a place to spit. As for shopping, I hate to shop, sorry ladies, but It's so dang hard to find anything to fit, I get disgusted and leave. Have a great fall day everyone.

Got me! Wasn't expecting that one at all, LOL.

I didn't have to do liquids prior to surgery either. The two weeks after were not easy, but I survived and you will too. Try to keep busy, and yes those tv commercials, it will seem like everyone of them is about food. Things you haven't thought about eating in months will all of a sudden make your mouth Water. We've all been through it, if you get really desperate, chew and spit, LOL. When I got really hungry, I opted for hard candy, s/f popcicles, Jello, (I hope I never have to eat another Jello). Hang in there it's worth it in the long run.

I'm scared - Do I have a port infection/rejection?
HarleyNana replied to lovecats85's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Your port may appear to be larger because the swelling is going down and you're more drawn to that spot. In the healing stage it is quite an obsession, (fortunately, we've only had a couple of people have major problems or lose their port), I know I was constantly poking mine to see if it had moved or if it was sore, I was even afraid to turn over because I was afraid I'd pull the tube loose. Now I twist and toss and turn as if I never had surgery. Good luck and keep us informed, you too Trisha. -
No beer for me, just the smell would do me in. Vodka doesn't really have a smell, and I try to keep it healthy, OJ is good for your right???

Welcome to bandland. With what you've accomplished today, tomorrow should be a breeze, BUT, don't over do it, just because you feel ok, be careful. Good luck to a new and healthier you!

Gee Karla, we should have a contest to see who's online more, LOL. My DH thinks I have a boyfriend online because I'm always on my puter. He just doesn't understand how addicting LBT is.

Where do you go for short legs, smaller butt, but still very top heavy. I can wear med and large pants, but takes an 18 for the top, that is if I wear it open and don't try to button anything. It makes it so diffifult to do online shopping now because I never know what is going to fit and I hate to try clothes on in the store. My real name is take it back Pat.

Need advice, what did you wear on day of surgery?
HarleyNana replied to AnotherMe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I wore jogging pants and sweat shirt, had to be at hospital at 5:30am, wore my gown and robe home the following day. No bra for me either. -
Update on yesterday's port removal
HarleyNana replied to mom2babyrose97's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm so sorry to hear about the port issue. You have such positive thoughts, that's half the battle. Good luck! -
Nana, I laughed out loud (for real) when I read your answer to #3.

how can you tell if you have a leak?
HarleyNana replied to vinesqueen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My doctor always extracts the fluid he has previously put in, which makes him and I both feel better knowing it's still there. This process also verifies the last fill he hit his mark, because the first fill he missed the port. -
Wonderful pictures. I totally agree with your concept, you're happy about you now and that is so important. You look great and I'm sure you feel great too. Good job.

I'm not fussing, but remember you are still in the healing stage and though it sounds minor, those solids cause the stomach muscles to work to digest that food, even though you can't feel it. Hopefully this little tidbit will give your more willpower.

Karla, I haven't read the book, but it sounds pretty interesting, I've heard it's quite interesting. My first meeting/luncheon is a dinner show on the 19th, I'll be sure to take pictures and post. I did order a purple dress and bought a couple red hats, one is like a baseball cap, only it's done in red sequins. I'm apprehensive and excited all in one.

I'm so excited, I've been accepted to one of the local Red Hat chapters, the Magnolia's. A year ago, I wouldn't have considered going to a social, much less joining a group of 50+ year old ladies who like to have fun. Even though I've only lost 49 lbs, (plus the 26 lbs of muscle I've gained), I feel so much more self confident and not ashamed to walk into a crowded room. If I don't lose another pound, I'd still do the band all over again, in a heart beat.

Finally able to talk after Hurrican Rita

Stress can also cause the band to act up, (at least it does for me). Welcome back and I wish you the best with your band and your repairs.
