Confession: I had ?regular? food-help!
HarleyNana replied to LilAngel's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If you're starving and you're on liquids, fill up on thick liquids, my doctor told me anything that would go through a straw, did you know sausage gravy very well blended with a little Water to thin it is very filling. If you've got to have something, stand over the sink, chew and then spit. You don't want your tummy to have to work to digest the food. It's your healing time, yes it's hard to do, but you can do it. You've come this far, don't take the chance to cause problems. Come talk to us, that's what we're here for. -
Keey your fingers crossed for me, please

WoooHoooo, so glad you flipped on your own. -
That must have been real vomit, cause my pb/slimes never have an odor either. That must have come from really deep. Oh, but I must confess, it does stink if you spit in a bottle, put the top back on, leave it in a 90 degree car for about 2 hours while you're in the mall, then come back out and find the top wasn't on tight and the chit had spilled everywhere. YUK!

Patience, you'll be a bandster before you know it.

Year or More - What I'd Like To Know!!!
HarleyNana replied to LynnAnn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I researched for a long time as well, mainly because we didn't have anyone in my area who performed the surgery, but after a year of waiting, I was my surgeon's first lapband patient, along with a proctor with lots of experience. Losing weight is never easy, at least for most of us, but the band is a tool to help us not eat as much and along the way make healthier choices. I'd do it again in a heart beat, every time I see a heavy person, I want to tap them on the shoulder and share my experience. My mother was 73 when she had the surgery done in April. Good Luck! -
I was always afraid when I tossed and turned I'd pull my tube out of the port or the band, but it's in there pretty tight, now I forget I have it. The pillow does help.

what have you done because you were embarrased of your weight?
HarleyNana replied to lovecats85's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Years ago, when I was much younger, I use to stop at a drive through, gobble the food down before I got home and pretend I wasn't hungry for dinner. Oh yeah, I've eased the fridge door open too. Oh yeah, I use to order my kids big meals because I knew they couldn't eat it all and then I'd eat mine and what was left of theirs, waste not want not. -
I have to agree with VQ, if I lost mine tomorrow, I'd have to try it at least one more time. It is the one thing I've done for me and I have no regrets, but then again I haven't had to have it removed. I wish you the best with that decision, but unless I became deathly ill for a long time, I would do it again. What size was your band, same doctor doing the surgery, going back with same size and brand band?
-
Eileen, I regret not doing measurements the night before, and don't forget the pictures, most important! Betty, where are your pictures, we're waiting....and been waiting patiently. Beanie, you're next! MC, I thought you and Betty couldn't spell Danger, LMAO.

You go girl, that's awesome, just one milestone after another! -
They're franchisee businesses, a local 32 year old girl owns 6 of them all within 100 miles of each other, she's rolling in the dough. A lady had a heart attack and died right in the gym about a month ago. I think they fill a void for those of us who do not like the meat market type gyms.

White vinegar should do the trick, just put some in a spray bottle and give it a few saturating squirts. I ate something last night that didn't agree and I was at this big outdoor fundraiser, thank goodness I had a golf cart close by and hauled buggy to the parking lot, I was almost foaming at the mouth it was so bad and I was trying to hold it in. I was so afraid someone was gonna speak to me before I could get out of there. When it starts coming back, ya better find a place fast.

I'm so sorry to hear your little one has had to endure so much. I have a 2 year old gson and I know how active he is, I can only imagine how difficult it is keeping him calm. Give him a hug for me.

Resting today! Yesterday was a whirlwind, I was a volunteer at the local Operation Smile golf benefit. I had to be there at 8:30 to check the golfers in, there were lots of teams and lots of golfers. Then at 3:00 I returned to check them back in off the golf course, I was in charge of collecting their "BLUE BALLS", which they exchanged for raffle tickets, needless to say, I had fun with that one! Men, boy do they embarrass easily when you start asking for their blue balls, LOL. Then it was rock n roll, cocktails, dancing and BBQ. Whew, my band does not like BBQ or slaw, so I had to stick to screwdrivers. They showed video of lots of children before and after, amazing is all I can say. Everyone had fun and we collected lots of money.

Yeah, I know, see my jeans, jeans, jeans thread. I did buy two pair tonight at Dress Barn, size 14 regulars, not with the Womens. I also bought two pair of dress slacks, drum roll.....size 12.

That's like when I was stopping by Sonic every other day for a blaster, OMG, blast my ash, that lil ol cup had over 900 calories. Needless to say, I don't do blasters anymore. I sure do miss them tho. -
Congratulations!!! I got all goose bumpie, I'm so happy for you.

Anyone who says they don't have experience with some type of alcoholic "family" member would be a very rare person. We all gottem somewhere.

Help, I can't find any jeans to fit. Obviously, at 5'2, I don't expect to buy a pair off the rack and not have to hem them. I'm at this in between size, 14W is too big, a 14 regular is too tight, (cuts me in the coochie), a regular 16 is too big and too long. I'm thinking if I could find a pair of stretch regular 14's. Any suggestions on where to look. I hate trying on clothes in the store. Friday, I tried on 5 pair of jeans, and none of them fit, talking about pissed. I'm not complaining, but everything is too big, I bet I tried on everything in my closet yesterday trying to find one outfit I could wear. Thank goodness it was a warm day, reached for a pair of capris I'd been wearing all summer. I hate shopping in stores, I know that's hard to believe, coming from a woman. I much prefer shopping on line, you just click a size instead of having to look at every tag on the rack, just much easier, but I send more stuff back now than I keep, because sizes vary so much. I need suggestions for jeans to try and/or online stores you can recommend that have sizes pretty true to size. I love Silhouettes, their prices are great and the sizes very ample, but they have very few 12w things, if any. Instead of Ebay, maybe one of our talented members could start a thread where we could auction or sell clothes between us, wouldn't that be neat, a LBT auction thread.

Ordered two pair from Avenue AND a few other goodies, should be here any day now. Thanks for all the advice. I'll be checking out Walmart and Penneys. I don't like Target they give ya too much trouble when ya take stuff back. My middle name is returnit.

Taco Bell was my mushy haven too. Give me them refried beans and sour cream. -
How much time did you take off of work?
HarleyNana replied to Firecallie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had surgery on Monday, drove to the store on Wednesday, and went to the office on Thursday, but I didn't do anything but open the mail, LOL. -
I hear it's the monster storm of all time, BUT, is expected to drop to a 1 or 2 before it hits land. Good luck to all of your Floridians, stay safe.
