Gee Debby, it does make one wonder, LOL.

Your nutritionist is probably thinking in terms of gastro. The seminars I went to said I'd only be able to eat like a 1/2 cup, yeah right. As soon as I started mushy stage, I could eat more than that in a flash. My band buddy, who was banded directly after me, and I laughed at how we were told we'd only be abler to eat this tiny, itty bit. You have to remember you don't have a fill yet, or at least not a good one. My doctor said they're putting a slight fill into the band now during surgery.

Pamela I had lots of sausage gravy when I was on liquids and mushy stage, YUM.

Today is the BIG DAY, A NEW LIFE! ANY ADVICE?

Congratulations on making a life changing decision, welcome to bandland. -
Mine hit around the 2nd week of liquids. I kept thinking, OMG, what have I done, but then the mushy stage hit and I was OK. Wish you luck.

I wish I could move like that, drunk or sober.

I had my first un-fill last week.

I know you've got to be feeling so much relief. I put up with that for a month one time, never again. I think it's much tougher being too restricted. You did the right thing, listen to your band. -
I can't even do chicken nuggets, chewed and chewed and chewed, it's still going to come back. I can manage chicken salad with lots of mayo. Oh yeah, those salads with grilled chicken on top, NOT.

Good morning everyone. Another beautiful day here in VA, although, we're suppose to get rain this afternoon. I go for my second Red Hatters meeting today. I'll take pictures, should be a good time. This is a picture before my first meeting, ok stop laughing everyone. redhatlbt.BMP

Hope all went well, post when you can.

Maybe you just need a tiny unfill to give you more comfort with your band. As a supportive thought, I hope you will consider a slight unfill as opposed to a completely empty band. It sounds like you just need a little break from the band, I wish you well.

I had to laugh when I read this thread title, my band surprises me everyday. I don't mean to bore others who have read my previous threads, but the scales can be your enemy. I was getting depressed over my non moving scales, only to find out I had gained 12 lbs of muscle, which is a good thing. Also remember if you don't eat enough, your body will store the intake for the future if it thinks it's being deprived. Before the band I use to starve myself and never lose weight, now I'm a firm believer you've got to eat to lose any weight. Good luck!

My mom's surgery was covered by insurance, but I was self pay. It was a lot of money, but it was so worth it to me. I feel 10 years younger. -
Good Morning everyone, it's another beautiful day here, possible 80 degrees, in November! Just got through trying to set the GPS on my DH's new Corvette, he's leaving town for a week, talk about quiet Eileen, I'm so looking forward to just me time. Actually, I figured it out pretty quickly, now the real task will be trying to make DH understand. This is a guy who can't work the DVD player and half the time can't get the tv to work. We have a flat screen on the wall, so the electronics to make it run are in a cabinet, and there are like three buttons that have to all be on at the same time to get a picture, sound, and cable all at the same time, LOL. I have them all marked with red fingernail polish. Betty, I'm so jealous you got to meet some of the gals. Eileen, how's the hunger these days? Ivan, you just had to mention the Halloween candy, now where'd I put that Take 5 bar I took out of my gson's bucket, hmmmm. Fills, oh my that is such a touchy subject for me. I'm at 2, 1/2 way of my 4cc band and I can count on at least one pb a day. If I go a day without one, I think my band has slipped, LOL. Beanie, you have such a great outlook, I hope you get your band soon. Have a great day everyone.

My last goal was to fit into a size 12 slacks, which I accomplished last week, now my goal is to fit into a size 12 jeans, sorry guys, only the ladies will understand this one.

Check-in Thread For Oldster Bandsters
HarleyNana replied to tomorrowsdream's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
We both did really well. The hardest part for both of us was the liquids for two weeks. The surgery was not a problem for either of us. I didn't have tummy gas, only pain in my left shoulder, which would go and come. It's nice having a buddy to go out and eat with, so we usually order the same foods. Like today, we went to Olive Garden and had soup and salad. Neither of us have any regrets. I know a lady who had bypass a month after me and has dropped probably twice as many lbs as me, but I think this is the safer route for us. -

I'm 55 and down 51 lbs, plus a gain of 26 pounds of muscle. My mom is 74, who was banded in April at 73, she's down 36 lbs. -
I have the small band, 4cc. I use to fuss at my doctor because my band is quite sensitive, and I thought it was too small, but now I think it's just right! I've had very few fills and doubt I'll get many more. Also each fill was very little.

Tootsie Waffle, yummm I love waffles, err well I use to.

What Foods Have Caused You to PB?
HarleyNana replied to amiefletch's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was thinking about this thread today while eating deli meat on a chef salad. Knowing darn well in a matter of minutes that deli meat was coming back, sure enough it happened. I'd wait a few minutes take a little bite and then, here it comes. Hellooooo, where's my sign, I knew it would happen, but I ate it anyway, errrrr. Sliming to me is a variation of a pb, just a lot easier to get back up, welll ya asked. -
So sorry to hear about your band loss, it reminds us all that it could happen to any of us, at any time.
-
The way I understand it, that's why we need the fill.
-
Oh, Jimmy Dicks or a soft shell crab sandwich, of course without the bread now for me. I just eat them with my fingers, yummmm.
-
Yeah it shrinks, that's why you have to get fills silly girl!
