You made it sound easy, but I'm sure it was a tough thing to do, I'm proud of you for taking the pride in yourself.

Stainless Steel Sink advice needed......
HarleyNana replied to princess_n_thep's topic in The Lounge
Thanks Kathy, if I had it to do over, I'd get a smaller one so I'd have more counter space on one side, but since I don't cook the sink does make quite a conversation piece when visitors arrive, LOL. The idea with the vinegar is a good one, I'd take some vinegar in a spray bottle with a drop of dish detergent, (so the vinegar would stick to the rubber), shake it up, spray the rubber, then sprinkle baking soda on there and watch the magic foaming action. Just a thought. -
I'm 2. in a 4cc band, probably could use more, but I've been overfilled before and it's no fun, it was quite miserable. It must be time for a slight fill though, because for the first time since being banded I'm starting to get hungry and I don't like that feeling either.

What are people snackin' on these days?
HarleyNana replied to aligirrl77's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Any s/f candy gives me enough gas to get from VA to Fla and painful too. I snack on soy chips, good Protein source. -
Just a little tidbit of info I picked up today, I wonder if it really works: Mosquito Bait People love to have me over during summer evenings as the mosquitoes flock to and feast on me, leaving others alone. Ouch! I have finally found a natural way that works to keep them at bay. I take a B complex Vitamin every morning in the warm weather and this does the trick. Mosquitoes rarely bother me when I take the B complex vitamin. However, if I forget, I am quickly reminded as I once again become their favorite meal. Guess I'll start upping the B Complex Vitamins, I hate them skeeters.

At this point, $322.12 per pound, and it was worth every dime.

It would be neat if some little light would go on when people are there, like the little green light that shines when a user is online, .

Darling, do you write a letter to a loved on everytime you ride in a car or walk out the door? Your chances of dying on the table are much less than being killed on the street. You'll be fine, you just have the preop jitters, which is quite normal. Here's a big hug, now focus on what you'll need when you return from the hospital, good luck.

Helllllewwww, you must be able to read between the lines, I'm not a counselor by any means, but these are serious warning signs. It's obvious this is a one way relationship....don't walk away from this relationship....run!

Looking for a fill doctor in Richmond, VA
HarleyNana replied to Ellieroo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Check out my doctor, Newport News Office, 757 591-9572, he's only 45 min from Richmond. Great doctor to boot. -
I have a situation.... (long, and maybe TMI)
HarleyNana replied to Chickie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Gosh Sameee, I hope everything is ok. The first time I vomited after being banded, which was actually a huge PB, I had the blood issue, thought I'd pulled something loose, called my doctor and it was a broken blood vessel in the esoph. I'll be checking on you tomorrow....Hugs! -
Ewww, they're gross, they'd scare the hell outta me, do they chit all over your yard too? Cute dog though. My problem is geese and ducks. The ducks aren't too bad until they poop on the sidewalk and pier, but those damn geese leave huge poop. Then there's the landmine dropping egrets and herons, OMG, they chit that splatters. The bird are beautiful to watch gliding through the air and landing, but they can be annoying. Are those wild turkeys?

Polling the Audience.....
HarleyNana replied to princess_n_thep's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I didn't have to read past the first line.....without a doubt. As I've said in previous threads, I'd do it again in a heart beat. I'm not saying every day is perfect, and a few more days like yesterday, (eating everything in sight), I may change my mind, LOL. This was the only option I researched, the thoughts of my innards being rearranged and/or shortened, not for me. -
Stainless Steel Sink advice needed......
HarleyNana replied to princess_n_thep's topic in The Lounge
First of all the drains look to be made out of cast Iron, not stainless steel. As for the sink it depends on the gauge, mine is 18 gauge, but it's brushed stainless steel. As for the scratches, unless you call a specialist to come in to sand/buff the scratches out, you, like me are stuck with the scratches. When I called Kohler about mine, they told me to always use my cleaning sponge the kind with the little blue scrubbie attached, to clean left to right and follow the "grain" of the sink....yeah, whatever, LOL. Thanks for the tip on the sponge softner for the puter screen. -
There is a previous thread on this subject, which was quite interesting. I would bump it for ya, but I'm not real good at bumping, well at least on LBT, LMAO.

I will not eat any chocolate kisses today, I know I shouldn't have put them in the candy bowl, mixed with my Vitamin and Calcium squares. I will eat Protein first today and more of it. Exercise, well I'm gonna think about it. Good luck Penni, I worry every day that I don't PB or have a reaction from my band that it must not be working. Hugs

FYI, The most recent issue of Consumer Reports has an article on the dreaded treadmill as well as the review of the Adj Lap Band and the G-Bypass.

Assisting in the Katrina Relief effort...need support
HarleyNana replied to Maggie63's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
What a rewarding experience, assisting the devastated victims of Katrina, I salute you! As for the eating, try to grab things that are higher in Protein, keep Zone Bars handy, they've got 16 grams of protein. It's seems you're going to be really busy the next 30 days, so hopefully you will have something new to focus on, besides food. I'm intrigued by your motivation to travel and assist those so in need. I'd love to know how you're assisting, who you work for, where you're staying, (hotel or a tent). Thanks for sharing your experiences. Good luck and stay in touch. -
Ouch!!!! Staples, that looks like it hurts really bad, and fresh too. Nice shots, hope it doesn't hurt as much as it looks like it would. Hugs!

Ok Kathy, what were you wearing, where were you sitting, so we can look for you Monday or Tuesday? Glad you had a good time.

I don't want to sound freaky, but I have her last 3 pm's to me and go back and read them from time to time. She always made me feel like I was her best friend. The last date was March 6th, so the date is very close. I would love to know how Philip is doing and how the house is coming along. It would be great if he'd stop by and touch base with us. When I started re reading everyone's post I got teary eyed and goosie bumps, like Greg said, she was so loved. Speaking of her picture, I wish there was some way Alex could "freeze" her Avatar and dedicate it to her so no one else could use it. I would be sooooo upset if someone started using it. (***long sigh***).
