A question regarding bread
HarleyNana replied to missy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I forgot to mention I'm surprised you're eating pizza 3 weeks out. Hope you're chewing very well, although it's been almost 3 years, seems I was still on mushies at that point. At any rate, good luck on you band journey. (Pizza, hmmm, I couldn't imagine eating a slice of pizza, maybe stealing the top off a slice, LOL) -
A question regarding bread
HarleyNana replied to missy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't DO bread, just a personal choice. Sometimes I'm tempted to eat a BLT sandwich, but my luck it would go down too easily and then ...oh no! -
:happybday2::happybday2::happybday2:HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETTY!:happybday2::happybday2::happybday2: Hope you have a wonderful day!

Kat, you are too funny. What is it with us old people. My mother is 76, and I'm getting ready to buy her house, so she can have some money to spend now, rather than leave the house to be sold after she dies, (obviously the money won't do her any good then). So I had it inspected for moisture today, the guy told her she had mold under there, well needless to say, she's already asked two times today if I've talked to anybody about taking care of the mold. Cold, OMG, she brings a blanket if she rides in my car for more than an hour, in the summer! I can't imagine having to sleep in the same room with her, LOL. Sounds like you're a great daughter and caregiver..hugs!

Effects of Alcohol after Lap Band Surgery
HarleyNana replied to guitarjeff's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank goodness Orange Juice is not carbonated, neither is my Vodka ...:waytogo:, but they're loaded with wasted calories, so drinker beware! -
Hey Y'all, just dropped in to say hello, YIKES, where is everyone? Hope you and yours are well! Hugs
-
Beautiful baby, hmmm is it me or does your daughter look like you or what? Congrats on # 8 WOW, I struggle with 3. Also being an old lapbander, every day is a struggle, but I guess if it was easy we wouldn't have anything to complain about, LOL. Hugs

Congratulations on your band, take it slow and easy

Congratulations on your band date! There are lots of areas on this board to collect great information. What ever your question, you can always type it into search and get an instant response. Personally, I had surgery on a Monday, out of the hospital on Tuesday, (now my DR does the band as outpatient), driving on Wed, but keep in mind, we're all different. You should do just fine.

I haven't heard of it, but it sounds of interest. If you hear more, please share. Thanks

My surgeon said the size of the band is based on the size of your "innards". You can be a very large person, but still have a small stomach, therefore he uses the 4cc band. Surgeon's preference I'm sure. I have the 4cc, as does my mother who was larger than I was at banding time.

Too bad the insurance companies don't and won't take the same approach. I too wish I would have been able to avoid all those ups and downs, mostly ups. Bun1, I admire your perseverance to take control of your life. Good luck with your band!

Bun1, (not to steal the thread), but how did you qualify, even self pay to get the lapband with a 33 BMI? You look very small for lapband, what was your starting weight? Looking good girl!

Public Service Announcement : Weight Loss & Alli (A pharmacists take on things)
HarleyNana replied to beversman's topic in The Lounge
I took Xenical a few years ago, but didn't have the oily problems, just made me regular ......, but I did take some colon cleansing pills I got at BJ's a couple of months ago, OMG, I thought my butt was leaking, it was awful. I wouldn't recommend anyone take those things. -
Most stores, hotels, and restaurants in the Islands add the tip into the bill, which obviously does not give employees/owners incentive to provide excellent service, which also shows in the poor service in most cases.
-
I tip $5.00 for a fill, $10.00 for a new set, and $10.00 for pedicure. I just switched to the gel nails and I love them.

Awww, my son has a black "hot dog", with short short legs.

Congratulations to the newly wed..She Smiles! I think the poll would have been very interesting to see who would marry for money. I've been married for ever, almost 40 years, whew that's a long time, LOL, (yeah to the same man).

Removing tape glue and other tips
HarleyNana replied to Bejeweled's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Nail polish remover did not take my tape residue off either, are you ready....I used "Oops" that stuff for getting paint off. I was very careful, but it worked. -
I've always been able to eat more than 1/2 a cup, just be careful what type of food you eat.

Does Anyone Know what happened to Jack?
HarleyNana replied to tonya66's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yikes, I was looking for Jack today too! Any ideas anyone? -
PickleBritches, Dr. Terracina did my surgery, is he doing yours?

Before your next refill, see if that med is available in liquid or a pill form that can be cut up. I use my pill cutter all the time now, obviously not on a capsule. You may be surprised in what is available in other forms. My Synthroid is tiny, so that's not a problem and my Boniva goes right down. Good luck on that fill!

What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
HarleyNana replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh yeah, I now have 2.6 in a 4cc band, had a fill two weeks ago, first one in a year and 3 months, ya think I was due, LOL.
