Are you usually "on time" for work?
HarleyNana replied to TerriDoodle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm always late, for everything. I read once that ppl like me are late so they make a "grand" entrance.....NOT. I don't plan on being late, I just think of other things I need to do before I leave. Of course it helps that I'm the boss and I sign my own check, LOL. -
Anyone gone off coffee?
HarleyNana replied to Grayorm's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drink regular coffee every morning, I don't have an after taste, but I don't care to drink as much as I use to. Do you use artificial sweeteners? -

HarleyNana replied to losingjusme's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
LJM, I'm so disappointed for you, you're handling it so well, but like I mentioned before, if it wasn't going to cost me so much to cancel, I know I would have, but of course, now I'm glad I didn't. Hugs, please let us know what's up. -

OMG, when they pulled my drain tubes out, she told me to take a deep breath and then she'd pull when I let out my breath, OOOOOOOOOOOUCH, that tube must have been a foot long, both of them. I can't believe you pulled your own stuff out, you're so brave. OK, what's up with the blood work? Any clue what that means to you? Details please. Hugs for missing your date, just hope everything else is A-OK. -
Recover time for Tummy Tuck & Breast Lift with Implants

E..I think it was from removing the compression garment, and the rush of blood made me dizzy and almost pass out. It was NOT from pain, just a very weird feeling. -
Yikes, that's awful, an unfill due to being sick. Hadn't heard of that happening before. I've had a nagging cough for over a week, along with a rattle in my chest, which is a pain in itself, but to have to be unfilled, poor baby! Hugs!

Tami, as much as I hate the old saying, I do believe there is a lot of truth to it. Sorry you're under the weather, hope you feel better soon  -
Mandy, I know it must have been hard to make the decision to move her, but kids rebound quickly, hopefully, this will be true for DD. Hugs

HarleyNana replied to Esmeralda's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
LJM if it was all that bad I would tell you for sure, but I swear, I was off all pain meds by day two. Dealing with the drains was by far worse than the pain itself. Plus, once you take off the compression garment the first few times, be ready to grab a chair or seat, because I got soo woosy, thought I was going to pass out. You'll be fine. I was just telling a friend today, I'll be glad when all the swelling is really gone so I'll know what size clothes to buy, LOL. -

LJM, how did that preop go? Did you get all your ? answered to your satisfaction? I still have swelling, and I'm still wearing the compression garments, aka, tight ass undies, lol. I can sure tell when I don't have the more expensive ones on, I start to feel sloshy in the tummy. Have a great day all. -
Where is everyone? Just stopped in to say hello and it's beautiful FINALLY here in Fl, it's supposed to be almost 80 today and over 80 tomorrow.
-
Neal, it will be an adjustment for you, I've never slept on my back, LOL. It feels like after a while you can't move. I'm a side/tummy sleeper, but have not slept on tummy yet. I think I mentioned my doctor said sleep, regardless of position was more important. Write your questions down, you think you'll remember, but you won't.

Do you burp more now that you are banded? (non-productive, just air)

I wore a long house robe home, it was soft and warm and zipped all the way down the front. I don't remember getting into it or them putting it on me, LOL, or being wheeled to the car. -
I had it under my arms and the "flanks" as the doctor called them, the area the bra covers. I think I was able to sleep on my back because it was even pressure, if that makes sense. Then I couldn't stand it, but for so long, not through an entire night, so I lie partial side/partial back. For the first week, I actually used a round pillow wedged in my back. I've had my bra off now for about an hour and my back is starting to ache, so I'm off to get the "sports type bra issued at surgery" back on. I think it's the girls new security blanket, lol.

I didn't have any tummy pain, but my left should ached for weeks. Rubbing it helped more than anything for me. It does pass, but it took a while for me.

Recover time for Tummy Tuck & Breast Lift with Implants
HarleyNana replied to Esmeralda's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Well, actually, I was ok from the second day, I wasn't dancing a jig, but on day two, I cooked Dh a steak on the grill and folded the laundry. But i felt better moving. I was too scared to sit too long, too worried about blood clots, I truly believe, as I've posted before, being mobile, keeping on the move within the house premises helped me heal faster. My hardest times were when I showered, having to deal with those &((^*% drains Once they were out, I was out and about on my own, I drove on the 5th day, and quit taking pain pills of any type on the Wed after my Monday surgery. As to comparing the pain, it was more uncomfortable than painful. The lipo is still tender, the tummy still pulls a little when I strech or reach up too high and the girls left me know if I've lifted more than I should. Still not standing tall, hubby fusses at me all the time to hold my shoulders up, but after 58 years of leaning forward, well it's a hard bad habit to break. -
Thanks for posting, I know first hand about the lipo, it's been four weeks now and still very tender in the lipo area....ouch! Please stay in touch and let us know how she's doing day to day.

Hard to believe what a diff a couple of days can make, I'm not falling out of my DD bra anymore, how crazy is that? I have been taking Motrin for the swelling, maybe that's helping.
