Everyone looks G-r-e-a-t! I'm so happy for each and everyone of you. Keep up the good work. -
Getting use to chewing, I mean really chewing is so difficult to do. We have gulped our food for so many years and now we're eating much slower and you MUST chew. Speaking from personal experience, after two months of being banded, I will still swallow before chewing enough, and boy do I immediately know it....golf ball syndrom I call it.

I'm back home from revision surgery....
HarleyNana replied to LapBandFan's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
You are a wonderful person to have gone through a 4 hour surgery, and yet you are more concerned about your surgeon being worn out. Good luck with your new band. -
Welcome to bandland. Hope all goes well for you. Happy loosing!

The only problem with throwing them in the dryer is it messes up the wires that go underneath the cups to hold them suckers up. Have you ladies ever had one of those wires get twisted and start gouging ya? It would probably be like wearing a protective cup with a dent in one side. You could always just let them air dry on the door knob. Sounds like her friend is desperate for something to itch about.

Three elderly sisters were living together, one was 96, 94, and the youngest 92. The eldest decided to take a bath, she was stepping into the tub and suddenly yelled to her younger sisters down stairs, was I getting in the tub or getting out. The 94 year old sister said, oh my goodness, I'll come up and take a look at you and let you know. She started up the stairs and got part of the way up and yelled out, "was I headed up stairs or was I on my way down the stairs"? The youngest sister, 92 was sitting at the kitchen table having a cup of tea, she said to herself, I feel so sorry for them, thank heaven I'm not that forgetfull, knock on wood, as she tapped the table. She yelled back at them I'll be up to check on both of you in just a minute, right after I see who'se at the door.

Hallelujah, that's wonderful, you've been blessed.

No silly, ????? OMG, I hope not, LOL. Six week rule.

I'm surprised you haven't started vitamins, I took vitamins b4 being banded. I use the ones Penni told us about on page 1 of this thread, but Source of Life. No nasty aftertaste.

When I look at the size of the saucer I use now or the fruit bowl as oppossed to the huge overflowing plate I use to use, it's a wonder I haven't lost 3 times as much weight, LOL.

1 month till my band-scared about hunger
HarleyNana replied to smellycat's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The first few weeks I dwelled on food, but I noticed yesterday I'm not as obsessed about it as I use to be. Although, with this slow weight loss, maybe I should concentrate a little more than I have been. Errrr! -
Paula I love your phrase. Also, did you check out the rebate for the hp camera?

Hair Loss!!! - Is Protein the only solution???
HarleyNana replied to NancySmiles's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
How long after surgery did you start noticing the hair loss? -
Lisa I agree my sliming experiences have been when I was hungry too and woffin food down. The slime is more of an aggrivation, whereas the golfball stuck in the chest is down right painful. I have to walk it off too. As I mentioned in another post it seems if you suck air in it makes it worse, so I try not to breath, I even do a little jumping up and down trying to get it to pass. I rarely get the golf ball anymore, and I haven't slimed today either. I mentioned in another thread a few minutes ago, I actually was full today, for the first time since my surgery. It was a good feeling, but it almost made me feel like I had over done it, but no slime or golf ball. Hope you're feeling well Lisa.

Most of the thin, normal people I know stop eating and actually leave food on their plate. They just push it away, which is what I'm doing now for the most part. Tonight was the first time since my band I was actually "full" and I didn't slime either, of course it was chili I was eating too.
-
OMG I can't believe what I just did...
HarleyNana replied to Jonathan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You ARE doing this! -
It's normal to be scared just before the big day. The surgery was a breeze for me, you'll do great and be on the way to a new and healthier you. Good Luck!

I can feel my port, I only know it's the port because that's where the fill went, LOL.

Showers only here too.

I've got the Kodak 6440 and the 10x actual zoom kodak 6490. I use the less expensive one much more often. Ok Paula, lets see some pics here.

My band was empty after surgery and I get a little hungry in between meals too. I think it's because I don't do a lot of solids, but I do eat a lot of beans and chili. I have eaten very little bread or bread products, like a nibble of bread, or picking at a roll; no buns or full slices of bread like a sandwich, just the meat. I do well with Ritz crackers.

I have to admit I did miss the taste of food while on liquids and I went through the what have I done moments, but I had to remind myself it was temporary and now 8 weeks later I can eat what ever I want, but I'm very particular what I choose to eat. Although, with only 24.5 lbs gone I guess I should be a little more particular, lol. Good Luck
