May, OMG, I'd be freakn too. Heck if I got a fill now, I'd still need another fill in May. I'd try to work one in somewhere, somehow. Good luck finding that fill.
-
Paula, I've tried coleslaw twice since banding and it didn't settle well at all. It must be the cabbage, ummm cooked cabbage sounds good though.
-
Wow Paula, I'm glad you added that. I would have thought the expensive stuff would be better for ya, I guess it pays to be a penny pincher sometimes.

Penni, my grandson's gonna be needing one of those passy patches before long. Hang in there Princess, your son will be so proud of his mommy.

Moderator and Privacy Issues on LBT
HarleyNana replied to Alex Brecher's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Alex and Penni thank you both for answering my questions, it means a lot to me, as does this site. Alex, I think it's pretty obvious we are all so grateful to have LBT, so we are able to voice our thoughts, our concerns, and share our opinions. Thanks for not getting frustrated with us and shutting down LBT. PS... congratulations on your weight loss as well. -
Denise, it's time for you to put yourself first and take care of you for a change. I'm truly sorry for sad times, but it will matter if you give that fill a chance. It seems your family really counts on you, probably too much, please take the time for yourself, you're the only one who can.

Moderator and Privacy Issues on LBT
HarleyNana replied to Alex Brecher's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Becky, I not only stand behind what you've said, I stand beside you as well. I was leary of speaking my true feelings due to the lack of longevity on this site and for fear of being rejected by friends of others. Penni, you started and closed two threads referring to private messaging you. Since you're a moderator, I don't feel those threads should have been closed. In the second one, you stated you'd learned a lot. I for one, again, since you're a moderator, would truly be interested to know what you've learned. Maybe if you share that information here, we can all learn from it. I do think you realize you've made some unfavorable remarks and it appears you've toned things down. Good luck to all involved, which is each and every member. Thank you for the opportunity to speak freely without being judged. -
Well, I haven't had that much tuna lately and now I'm in the mood to have it, but should I. Probably moderation will be ok. Loss of concentration, oh yea, what's this thread about?
-
I agree with Alex and Becky, the key here is control and the desire to make better food choices....cause if you don't you'll be sorry, LOL.

I had to do like Betty, liquids for one day. Blossom liquids 10 days before, OMG, you poor thing, just getting through the two weeks after was enough, BUT, it was well worth it. I was also kicking my own butt because I didn't pick a heck of a better last meal, a waffle, what was I thinking?
-
Cute, how'd you do in the race today?
-
The first two weeks are the toughest, if we were all able to live on liquids we wouldn't need our band. About the 4th day, I was saying to myself OMG what have I done, I thought of stuff I'd like to eat that I hadn't eaten in many months. I dwelled on food. Then the mushy stage starts and life begins again. Just hang in there it gets so much better. There will always be "moments", and it's not the fastest weight loss, but it does happen with time. Good Luck!

Anyone heard from Kelly lately? Haven't seen her on here for a while.
-
Oh yea, gotta have onions, gee I think I"ll have tuna for dinner tonight.
-
Oh Kelly girl, I'm so glad to hear you're doing well. Give Dylan an extra hug and thanks for letting us know all is well. You're blessed to have so many well wishers here at LBT. XOXOXO

Sorry, but I'm not much on synonyms, I got to yell the real thing baby, except when my granddarlings are around. I've owned a construction business for more than 30 years, I can hang with the best of them. Sometimes we'll be in the warehouse and one of the guys will use foul language, my son will say, "watch your mouth, that's my damn mama over there". What a son!

Concerned Family Members - anyone else?
HarleyNana replied to Feel2Young2B40's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My mother is joing the band wagon soon, so needless to say we will provide additional support for each other. I would encourage you to invite your mom to read about any of her concerns here. There's a wealth of band information here. Good luck with turning the family around too, most people are apprehensive, though I was not, I knew this is what I wanted and couldn't not have it done soon enough. -
I remember seeing that show, but I think you'd have to eat an extreme amount of it, then again, I'm not the best listener.

(For Ladies Only) What to take for BAD cramps?
HarleyNana replied to KarenB's topic in The Gals' Room
Not to make lite of your cramps, but I send mine to play golf...LOL, that was back during the day when I had that monthly pest. -
I'm worried about the post-surgery diet until back to normal

Laura, you sound just like me, I don't like "funny" food. During the liquid stage I did have the yogurt that's like icecream, blended with a tiny bit of milk added, just because I needed the Protein. I didn't concentrate so much on what I ate as much as I concentrated on getting protein in. My doctor told me I could have anything that would go through a straw. I had gravy, popcicles, s/f hard candy, any kind of Soup I wanted, I just strained the "food" part out. Just remember you don't want to lose your hair, so think protein. If you have a spare $60.00 consider purchasing the Bullet, it's a small compact blender type appliance. It's sold at Walgreens, Wal-Mart. I got one for Christmas, but just opened the box Friday. Since then I've made several concotions (sp) with ice or frozen yogurt and lots of frozen fruits. You can make it thick enough to eat with a spoon or thin enough to sip. Just no chunks at the beginning/healing stage. Best of luck to you and scan through the food section, you will find many many many ideas. Oh yes, I tried 1 of those protein things, I don't like milk so obviously that didn't work for me. If you like milk you can do Carnation Instant Breakfast. -
Good luck Annette, and welcome to LBT. You will find a wealth of information and good friends here. Go to the food site and you will find all kinds of threads relating to the first few weeks as well ongoing foods. Any direct questions, just ask, I'm sure at least one of us has had an experience similiar to your question.

Aww, what a thoughtful son, which also tells me that should be all the strength you need, it must really be important to him to see his mom smoke free. Good luck! PS, I'll bet he's a snuggler too.

Gee, I would post some pictures, but I always had a fit if anyone pointed a camera in my direction. Back before digital I was always the one picking up the photos from the lab, so disposal before getting home was easy. Now...if I could just get my hands on everyone's hard drive, hummmm.
