Poor baby, that's awful, that refulx is some nasty stuff when it comes back, and out your nose too, you had to be absolutely miserable. Were you sleeping in a chair? I'm seriously thinking about giving in and going to my doctor on Thurs and get some fill taken out. Problem is I don't have that much fill, but it's enough that I can't keep anything down that's the least bit solid, even my old standby chili. Even though I'm not eating enough to lose any weight, I'm more concerned with band rejection from all the pbing. Fortunately, most of the time it's just slime, bubbles, and foam, not that acid, burning stuff you've had. Hope you're better real soon.

The next time my gardner complains about cutting the grass I'll show him this picture, (that would be the DH..LOL)

I don't think I'll get another fill either. I keep waiting for this one to lighten up or in the case loosen up. I'd rather take longer to lose the weight than to be this tight and pb at least once a day.

I'm not diabetic, but probably to do with all the IV's, would be my guess...like Betty said, check with Jack.

Like Paula, the big juicy hamburger, with mayo and tomato juices dripping. Actually, with this tight fill I've been fighting for almost a month, I miss anything I could chew, swallow, and keep down. Oh yes, I miss french fries, loaded with chili and cheese. My band does not like or tolerate any type of potatoes, mashed, chopped, or fried. I guess somethings are a blessing in disguise.

Just banded YESTERDAY and in HORRIBLE pain!
HarleyNana replied to thechatrooper's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow, it's amazing how different we all are. I didn't have any pain to speak of, didn't need the pain meds, didn't even need the Tylenol, but my doctor did give me a prescription, just in case. I did take a half of one the 1st night at home just to make sure I slept good, it worked too. Try the walking and the Gas-x. I had the Gas-x on hand, but didn't need that either. Good luck, hope the walking helps. -
Well at least I wasn't on my Harley. That could have been a little dangerous, I would have pulled every stitch loose just sitting it to an upright position, darn thing's heavy. Gosh, I wish I could eat a cheeseburger, oh that would be soooo good. I'm still kicking myself for not having that as my last food before surgery. Gee I wonder which one of us getting the better gas mileage?:rolleyes

COMPLETELY off topic, but I need some advice....
HarleyNana replied to thechatrooper's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm with Jack, I'd be telling Sergio, "I'm outta here". -
I had surgery at 7:30, had to be at hospital at 5:30, so I drove myself to the hospital, but my DH drove me home. Drove myself to the store on Wed. Doctor said not to drive for a week, but I didn't have any problems and I drive a SUV. My mom who is 73 had her surgery on a Thursday and drove on Sunday. I think it's up to the individual.

Everyone's doctor is different, but my doctor told me I could have anything that would go through a straw. Did you know thin gravy goes through a straw, especially well pureed sausage gravy. I would just have a tiny bit at a time, but it did help the hunger. I also used s/f popcicles and hard s/f candy. A lot of this is mind games, because it does pass, but you can't dwell on the fact you haven't eaten, it just makes the hunger worse. You need to keep busy, like walking is great for you. I hope to never have to eat another Jello, LOL. I had my fill of those during the first 2 weeks. Hang in there, you can do it.

Problems sitting on couch/ in chairs
HarleyNana replied to dallasdoll's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sounds like gas to me too. I'm almost 5 months post band and every now and again, I'll get a sharp pain in my left lower stomach. Then after a bit it's gone. I especially had sharp pains on the left side 2-3 weeks after surgery, more so than immediately following surgery. After surgery, my pain was in my left shoulder, ouch. -
TrishS GOT HER BAND TODAY!!!!!
HarleyNana replied to Jammin & Losin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hurry back and share your experience. I wish you the best. -
I agree with the theory that Scott is getting sympathy votes, errrrrr! His attitude sucks. As for Bo or Constatine, I'm pulling for Carrie. I think Bo and Constatine over performed, then again, I'm not into that screaming and yelling...oops, my age is showing.

Hi also new and scared
HarleyNana replied to Tippytoes's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Tippy, my mom is 73 and was banded April 7th, she's doing great. You'll be fine, everone has the jitters just before and after. The next week will be a filled with ups and downs, but you'll be so happy with your decision. I wish you the best. -
It's 8:35, Thurs am, just wanted you to know I'm thinking about you. Hope all is well.

My DH doesn't get into that sort of thing, he's very supportive, but mention doctors or hospitals or needles, he'll pass out on ya.

HarleyNana replied to Corgi's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm at 1.75 on my 3rd fill and I think I'm too tight and I have a 4cc band. What size band do you have? -

Kelly, the Blossom thread shocked me too, I sure hope nobody uses that name again. I use the real Mayo too. -

I was wondering about the weight, I read over it twice and didn't see it, how about your height? I think I missed the part about why you're bed ridden too. I haven't had a hamburger since I was banded, I don't think they're the best choice for trying to lose weight, unless you're eating just the meat. Just curious about the above. -
Lets see if I can remember this from when I use to sort of cook; 2 cans of VegAll veggies 1 can of cream of chicken soup, unduluted 1 can of chicken chopped up, (optional) 2 Pillsbury pie crusts, the kind that unfolds. Unfold one of the crust, place in bottom of pie pan, combine other ingredients in a bowl, then spread into the crust, top with the remaining crust and cook on 350 until the crust is done and the inside is warm, about 20-30 minutes. Your family will think you've slaved all day for this pot pie. Jiffy dumplings: 1-2 cans of cream of chicken soup, 1-can chopped chicken-optional 1-can refrigerator biscuits Put the soup and chicken into a pot, bring to low boil. Take biscuits and split in half, then roll flat, then drop into the low boil. Cook until they float to the top, sprinkle with some cheese and serve.

Ready for a New Chance at Life

Good for you Jodie. I only have one regret about the band, which is that it was not available to me when I was young like you. Just remember this is not a magic solution, you will still have to make the right food choices, this is a tool to assist you in changing your eating habits. I wish you the very best. -
I get mine done every 6 months just because of an enlarged liver. My pcp likes to keep check on it. Had blood work done a couple of weeks ago and all my bad numbers went down and my good cholesterol went up.

I use Splenda in my coffee and love it. No after taste. I gave up Diet Coke, but I won't give up my coffee. Gotta have the AM boost. I buy a huge can of regular and a huge can of decaf then mix the two together to get half the caffeine, after all ya gotta have a little to get ya going.
