Thanks Penni for fixing the pics I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I'm so irritated all I get are the links to the pictures. Actually, the gray headed guy on the jetski is my 31 year old son with the gbaby who fell asleep that day, riding the jetski. The other one is my Gson Chase, who is 11. My younger son has a doxie too, if I ever learn how to post pictures without bothering others, I'll post a picture of him too. I love looking at everyone's family and pets, thanks for sharing your families with mine. Trish gave me specific details on how to post the pictures, and they still didn't work, what am I doing wrong, errr!

I had been up and down, fighting a pound for over a month and was starting to get pretty depressed, so I made an appointment with my dietician. She did the fat vs muscle test and I had gained another 3 lbs of muscle, making a total of 15 lbs of muscle gained. Then she held up a 1lb plastic hunk of fat and said, "you've lost 58 of these", needless to say I was pretty excited, especially since the scale was only showing a 43 lb loss. Sooo, when the scales have got you down, just remember you're probably gaining muscle, which we all know weighs more than fat, and is a good thing. Just think how much better I'd be doing if I'd been exercising too .

Greg get all he wishes for, OH MY, that could make for some serious trouble, hehehe. Happy Birthday Big, errr-SMALL Guy.

It stands for productive burp, although, others refer to it as a slime attack. It's when the food you swallow doesn't make it to the stomach before it comes back.

Cook out it is Vera, LMAO! We're having us a cook out too on the 4th, lol.

I got mine from costco, yearsssss ago, still works just fine, although, doesn't have a lot of mileage on it. I get bored with it really quick. Have you tried the classifieds, sometimes you can find one with really low mileage at a great price.

Hey daughter of Knelson: When I was banded almost 7 months ago, I went through the OMG, what have I done stage, as probably most of us have, but just remember, you're still healing and soon you will be able to eat most of the same foods, just not as much. Once the weight starts dropping, you won't want as much of the junk stuff. You're so fortunate to have the opportunity to take control of your life at such a young age, I'm 55 and so wish this surgery had been available to me at you age. You have your entire adult life ahead of you, to enjoy as a thinner, healthier, happier person. I too am proud of you, good luck on your new journey. Just think no more diets, just healthier choices...YOU GO GIRL!

You're an official bandster now, and it's not a fun thing when it happens. Were you eating tuna salad or baked? Often baked/broiled fish is too dry and can easily cause the "slime" attack. Unfortunately, I slime a lot, not throw up, but throw back, before it hits the tummy. You will find as you try more and more solids, certain things will agree and many of your old favorites will no longer be your friend. Any type of potatoe causes major slime for me, first bite is always the last when it comes to potatoes of any kind. Good Luck!

We had plans to go to Nags Head, NC, we have a beach house there, but my Gson was selected for the All Stars, (1st time, baseball), and his games start this Friday, AND, he has a game on the 4th. The best thing about having a beach house is all our clothes and personal items are there, so we can just scoot down, spend a day or two and head back, without a lot of hassle. Everyone please have a SAFE holiday weekend.

Pam, that seems to be a good thing, to be tighter at night, most of us are much more open after dark, LOL. Sounds like you've got a very busy schedule, don't forget to take time for you! WOW on the fills, everytime I get a fill I have to go back and have part taken out, I have the smaller band though.

Thank you Sandie, I do eat a little later than I should, just because we're busy in the evening. We tend to play most evenings, (ahhh it's so great once the kids are grown). We live on the Water and ride jetskis or do boating until about dark and then we'll either have a salad or sometimes we just order something delivered. I have to admit breakfast has never been my favorite meal, I always felt it was wasted calories, but since being banded I see the importance of the Protein. I wish you the best and please stay in touch.

The only Breakfast I can get down is coffee. I'm lucky if I can eat lunch around 2:00, although, I do agree with you Jamie. PS Jamie you're doing so GREAT!!!!!

I use my MB every day, great for frozen fruit drinks. Cleanup is a breeze.

My neighbor was making the bed one day and her then 4 year old son snuck up behind her and grabbed her in the privates as she bent over the bed and yelled, "gotcha, right in the Virginia".....kids.

The only reason I know I had one is because I was warned before surgery, but it was removed before I ever returned to my room. No problems.

Do u forget u have banded or is it always on you mind?
HarleyNana replied to rene2005's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm six months post op and sometimes I do forget, especially at night, when I'm tossing and turning. When I was first banded I was so cautious to turn slowly, afraid I would twist something loose, now I rarely think about it, other than reminding myself I AM banded. -
I've gotten so I ask for a seat near the restrooms when I go out to eat. Then I can excuse myself and got "spit". Today, I had a feeling I was gonna have a problem, so I asked for a to go cup, with a lid. Fortunately, my friend who was with me didn't care, but I'd just act like I was taking a sip out of the cup and let it go, then sit it behind one of the table advertsements. Before I left, I dropped a napkin into the cup and put the lid on it, ready for the trash. As for driving down the road, I've had to pull over and open the door, that was before I started carrying empty Water bottles. BUT, with the hot weather here, BE WARNED, do not resued a bottle after it has been in the car for a few hours, OMG, talk about disgusting and losing it, p-uuuuuu.

Awww, how special! You deserve a very Happy Birthday, you've had a rough year and you're still smiling. Give Dylan a hug for me too.

I think Starr had the lap band, not like ours, but the one that has some rerouting done with it. I also think Oprah has done something too, her weight still yoyos a little so I wouldn't be surprised if she hasn't had the band done. Heck with her $$$ she could go to Mx or Costa Rico in coginto, dress down in some old fumpy clothes and get by with it. She's struggled too many years to be keeping it off that easy. Plus everyday she looks different, somedays much heavier than others. She still looks good, she's a beautiful woman inside and out, IMO. No more than they had on there about WLS they could have skipped that part. I did enjoy the lady that walked around all those tables of food, discussing the different types of Protein and fat. I also thought it was quite interesting when she said it didn't have to be 64oz of Water, ANY KIND of liquid would do, just be sure to get in the 8 glasses a day. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->__________________

PB actually means slime to me, LOL. Funny you mentioned the omlet, I too went out on Sunday and tried an omlet, along with my salad that was doing just fine, took a bite of the omlet and that was all she wrote. If I went on liquids every time I slimed, I'd be on liquids all the time....Although, today, I haven't pb-slimed one time, woohoo.

I wear a button up shirt, UNbuttoned, over a tshirt or tank top, I hate it when all those waists show, you know the ones around the bra line. I think it's much more fashionable to have the hips and belly covered, even if it does look pg from the front. Since I'm passing through the menopause thing now, I can't stand anything tight and binding, although, since dropping a few pounds, I like my shorts much shorter than the knee now. Ahhh, not to have them crawl up between my legs when I walk, that's like a major NSV.

I'm not ashamed of my surgery, maybe the fact that I couldn't control my weight, but I think if Starr had the surgery she owes it to her viewers to be honest and admit it, then move on with her life. I think she's an incentive for others, not something she should be ashamed of, JMO.
