  1. I am 59, and was sleeved on April 9th, 2013. I had many of those same fears, but you learn quickly to eat slowly and chew well so don't sweat that part. The hunger is gone for me, I can only eat about 2-4 ounces at a meal, depending on what it is, and when you are full, you body tells you so my advice is listen to it! As far as eating out, I have done that, you just kind of find what works for you on the menu. I have eaten alot of soup! I order a glass of water or depending on the restaurant, I order an iced tea in a to go cup. That way I don't have to explain myself and can drink the drink later if needed. You can do it, take it one day at a time :)

  2. I could have written this myself. I was still having second thoughts right up until they knocked me out in the operating room! I am 3 weeks post op and have not regretted my decision for an instant. You will do great, it is a life style change and one that we needed help with. As far as God goes, I believe he gave surgeons the talent to do these procedures and does not have an issue with us doing this to be healthy. If you could see yourself through your husbands eyes, you would know the many, many reasons he loves you. And looking at your picture, you are beautiful! So chin up kiddo and welcome to the losers bench

  3. The night before my surgery, after the cut off time for eating/drinking, I got this big craving for french fries, I swear I could smell them! The next morning I woke up and while getting ready to head to the hospital, I got this over whelming craving for a cinnamon roll! I hadn't even thought about trying to eat those things in months. I told myself if I still wanted them in 6 months, I could have a bit. The thought of a cinnamon roll now makes me want to hurl! Good luck with your surgery :)
