Ever since I booked my band surgery for Sept 13, I've been eating like a horse! I'm a bottomless pit! I swear I'm on death row and every meal's my last! AUGHHH I've gained 5 pounds since I booked. Why am I doing this crap to myself? :omg::help::angry:cry:confused:

I'm getting banded in September, and these questions keep popping in my head. I totally understand if no one replies to this question: Is the band or port uncomfortable (or noticable) in any way to either partner during sex? Don't know who else too ask but you experts (in being banded, I mean!!).

:DI haven't seen any info or posts on this question - if our bodies need 1200 calories (for women - more for men) bare minimum to survive on, and more if we're exercising - does the band let in this minimum so we don't head into "starvation mode"? I do understand that we eat Proteins & veggies before more "empty" calories, but I worry about getting less then the minimum calories once banded. I guess since I've seen no info about it it's not an issue. The goal is slow weight loss, right - one or two pounds per week optimally. Okay maybe I've talked myself through this one. Thanks for listening. Cheers!

I booked myself in for September 13th - I wear braces and hopefully they will be off by then. I really need them off before the surgery as I realized I do not chew properly with them on. It's still 16 weeks away but you know how fast the summer disappears in Canada! I went for a consult with Kathy on May 4th, and she could have booked me in within a couple of weeks - I really wanted to dive in but cooler heads prevailed when I practiced chewing. While I was there I heard them talking about the "young man" being next and I knew they meant Robgoblin. I am scared of losing food, does that sound weird? What will I do with myself at certain times of the day? Do these old habits die hard or gracefully? I have only told my DH & one close friend - when it gets close I will tell a couple more friends, but I'm not interested in too many opinions right now, I just want to trust mine. Looking forward to hanging out here more! I wish I could go to the Bandster Bash this weekend, but I have a lot on. Have fun if you're going! Hopefully I can be there next year. Cheers! Ginger :clap2:

Mr. Y - that is absolutely the BEST kind of NSV!!!! Congratulations!!!!! Everyone say WOOTWOOT!!!! -
From what I've read on these boards, I believe that Betancourt and all the other Lap Band clinics and docs read these boards. I would not be surprised if Betancourt reda this thread and realized they were making a public mistake so they backpeddled and now want US doctor approval. Perhaps I'm a cynic, but I think I may be right. Good luck to you, honestly. But yes, find another avenue.

I'm going to be at TLBC on May 4th also for a 2pm info meeting! So if you see a red haired fat chick say Hi from the forum. I'm still fact-finding, but I'm fairly convinced this is what can work for me. Cheers!
