    400+ Sleevers?

Just about the same as Nate I guess. Started at 505 then lost 40 on preop diet and another 34 since surgery. Surgery was on 9-5 and spent 3 days in hospital. First 2 I was very sick and then have felt great ever since. Of course sore for awhile but it goes quickly. No hunger complaints but instead of that 1 big meal a day I eat 5 small ones which takes getting used to. Also, there are ways to cheat the sleeve but do not go down that road. A good example is I have a huge problem with bread so I opted to just cut it out. Not only bread but crackers and many flour products. That is just me but I just do not want to go back to old eating habits. Still on a high protein regiment so the veggies are minimal and really do miss the fruits. Further along these will come into play more. Good luck to you.

Back From Vacay, Down 2 Lbs!

Oh that is so wonderful. We have a big Walt Disney World trip coming in November for the Christmas party there. I have been planning how to eat when gone already (protein bars, drinks, cold cuts). I hope I can stay focused and maybe a treat or two.

    Todays Lunch (And Dinner)

I haven't tried a veggie yet since before prop diet. How do they sit compared to meat with the sleeve. Yeah, meat and cheese are already getting boring.

Does Anyone Else Eat As Much As Me?

I am keeping it very strict with turkey and cheese options but always seem to hit around 1000-1100 cals a day. I see quite a few around 600-800 a day. My one treat daily and many cals is a snack of almond or nuts. But I am still averaging about a pound a day loss with that. Of course my BMR is now 3800 so I will keep losing even at these levels until they sort of match then the loss will slow.

    Whole Or Egg Whites

I vote for the egg beaters also as they are convenient and I do watch my cholesterol. I just add 1/4 cup and some shredded cheese in the Nordic microwave egg cooker then 1 minute later it is done. Add a turkey sausage and viola a egg mcmuffin minus the muffin.

    Best Protein Bar?

Plenty of sugar in them. It is in sugar alcohol which is half of the carbs. Your majority of carbs when eating should be fiber not sugar alcohols. This is how they make them taste better and a way for them to list them as 0 sugars in big and bold on the front label. Just saying a marketing gimmick.

    Excessive Dry Mouth...w Cpap..

Yes, yes and yes! I thought it was just me but every since surgery I get extremely dry mouth once or twice a night. Have not had the air pressure adjusted yet but will have it checked when I hit a 100 lb loss soon. So Patrick how have you been doing lately anyway?
  11. Woke up this morning and sharp pains just under lower left rib. What the heck is going on. About a month out from surgery, no problems up till now. Last night I did have a piece of jerky that did not sit well and ended up getting sick. Hoping it was just from throwing up and pulled something but the pain is just hurting.
  12. So 21 days on preop diet and 30 days since being sleeved and I have lost 70 lbs. Averaging about 1.5 lbs a day so far. The turtle is still going!

    Coffee

Used to be a pot a day drinker, old corp habit. Even bought a can of decaf for after surgery but found no need for it. Just decided to quit drinking it altogether and really have not missed it. Did go through about a week of headaches from withdrawal though.

70 Lbs In 51 Days. Still Going!

That is one reason, my BMR has been drastically changed. When someone who is at such a high weight with a high BMR then starts eating like a normal person. Bam! Basic science and the weight has to come off. I walk everyday about 30 mins and of course 5 meals a day. I hope to keep this rate up for another couple months but do expect to slow as the weight comes off and my BMR drops.

    Best Protein Bar?

The best one out there to match your needs are the Quest bars but they average about $2 dollars a bar. Try to keep your cals under 200 and you have to watch out for the sugar alcohols in some of these. I am looking also for the same stats for a up coming trip and plan on substituting these for a meal here and there.

    Super Saturday Weigh In

Hit 435 yesterday and same today so that's 70 lbs in 51 days. Doing the tap dance now, yeah. Just hope to maintain this average loss for the next couple of months.
  17. 4lbs at 4 weeks is almost a 1 1/2lb a day. This is very hard to do or maintain such weight loss. Not impossible but unrealistic.

    When Does Hunger Come Back?

Mine was about 3 weeks but not the same as it used to be. I used to always eat just once a day and never had hunger until around that meal. But I have found now it is not so much hunger but something telling me to eat about every 2-3 hours now.
  21. Weight before surgery 505 Surgery date 09/05/2012 Current weight 440 Goal weight 420
  22. I had no large spots 10 years ago, only a small one on my knee where I tore up 4 of the 5 ligaments. Then we adopted 3 children and it was like being taken over by it. Both knees, elbows, right side of my leg and starting to travel up my spine. Guess stress activated it. I am only about a month since surgery and no change so will keep you updated. Just can't imagine where this stress is coming from.
  23. A recommended amount of daily intake for a 2000 calorie diet is 300 mg. Heart doctors actually recommend 200 mg. We are really at 600-800 cal diets so even lower amounts should be taken in. I found out mine had shot up lately with blood tests and come to find out it was my protein drink. It contained 50 mg per serving and I take 2 a day plus other meat and food items through the day. Switched from that brand to a 0 mg of cholesterol per serving and lab tests showed a significant drop. Paid to much attention to the carbs, protein, and cals on label but forgot this part.
  24. Every Doc is very different. I was expecting a couple weeks out for puree food like our Nut classes taught. But the surgeon came in 2 days after surgery and had me start puree that day.
