no nsaids - how did you cope?
Julie Latour Lewis replied to katikati's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did stay off prescription Naproxen before surgery, but at my six week check up I begged him to let me get back on it. The pain was so bad I could barely walk. He said that I could, but only if I took a prescription strength acid blocker, which I gladly did. I can make it with only one Naproxen a day instead of the two that I used to take. Since I have lost 95 lbs, I hardly ever have pain in my ankles or knees, and may try to wean myself off of the Naproxen. It is really hard to get around when you are hurting. Things will get dramatically better. Good luck. -
Am I The Only One Who Started To Hate The Taste Of Water?
Julie Latour Lewis replied to SweetSaso's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are some flavor enhancers called Mio. There are several flavors, mine is the fruit punch. No calories, it really helps me. I find them at all the stores now. -

NSV shout outs
Julie Latour Lewis replied to BobBayCityMI's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I just spent the weekend with all my grandchildren and family at Jellystone Yogi Park in Waller Texas. I kept up with them all weekend, something I would not have been able to do 60 lbs. ago. Even doned a bathing suite (with cover up all weekend) and got in the pool with them. Can't wait until next year. Their ages are 2,2,7,8,9!! -

Words Of Encouragement Needed Please
Julie Latour Lewis commented on Thyckness718's blog entry in Thyckness718's Blog
I did the same thing. It was like I would never be able to eat again. I stopped three weeks out. At three weeks I began replacing one of my meals with a protein shake, then two weeks out replaced two, then the third week all liquid diet per doctors instructions. I met the 15 lbrequired me to loose, but just by the skin of my teeth. I did the one & two shakes a day to prepare myself for the all liquid week the doctor didn't require it. It did make things much easier. I stopped the food frenzie because I was afraid he wouldn't do my surgery if my liver was enlarged because of all the fat that I had consumed. -
I think that I mourned alot of the foods I love when I went gluten free a couple of years ago. The only problem that I encounter is sitting down to enjoy a really good meal and after 7-10 bites I'm done! I'm like REALLY???? But feel just as satisfied like I had eaten the full portion.

Yay! I can tell the excitement in your post! -
I don't have a thyroid at all. I had it removed because a biopsy showed cancer, when they removed it the pathologist said there was no cancer. It has been bloody hell trying to loose weight before this surgery. So glad that I did it!

Julie Latour Lewis replied to Jolie_KeMi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got a new car this week and when I returned to work with it, a co-worker (male) said, "it's not as small as I thought it was gonna be.....I thought we would have to get some grease and a spoon and pry you out of it"!!! I was so shocked I couldn't respond. -

I am only 6 weeks out, but I am on regular food now and have never thrown up, do not have reflux, have not had a problem with any food. I hear that the band is quiet different than the sleeve but have not had any experience with it. -
Huge Nsv For Me!
Julie Latour Lewis replied to Piplula's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am flying in the morning and I am so nervous I bought my own seatbelt extender! I flew a few months ago and there was no way I could buckle. 40 lbs down I am not sure. I carry the majority of my weight in my behind! Can't wait for the day when I won't have to worry about things like this
