Need Surgeon Recommendations In The Houston, Tx Area

Dr. Todd Worley at Willowbrook Methodist Hospital. My sister used him also and we were both pleased, and no complications.

    Vsg And Auto-Immune Disease?

My Rheumatologist was on board with me having the VSG. All I had to do was get off my immunosupressive drug 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after. I have Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, combo of Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis. My biggest problem now is that I can't take prescription anti inflamatory drugs now which really helped me. I know once I loose a significant amount of weight it should really be beneficial. Good Luck

Mommy, That Was A Good Fart! I'm Proud!

I have had a hard time with IV's being started, but have never had one put in my neck! I would have been mortified! The anesthesiologist put mine in this time. I have to say I was a little apprehensive about the IV being started. I have had trouble in the past. He deadened the sight, first stick in, the most painless I ever had.

    Surgeries

Hi everyone, I became interested in the sleeve when my younger sister had it last November. I was happy for her and scared for me. I said that I wouldn't be jealous of her, but everytime I saw her she just looked better and more healthy. In January I was diagnosed with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. Like a combo of Arthritis and Lupus, plus some Fibromyalgia. I decided then that I couldn't deal with this and be this heavy. My insurance doesn't pay for weight loss surgery, so I was going to be self pay. During my testing my doctor found a very large hiatal hernia, so now my insurance will be kicking in part of the surgery and hospital stay. I am four weeks out now and feel great. I am loosing somewhat slow since surgery, but I can definately tell in my clothes and even shoes. I have lost a total of 35 pounds, but lost the majority of that because I started my pre-op dieting 3 weeks before surgery. I had my surgery at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital in Houston Texas and my surgeon was Dr. Todd Worley, I would recommend him to anyone. Wonderful bedside manner, now he will put you thru the ringer in testing, but it was for my own good I know. Julie

    Killing Herself

Maybe when she sees how good you do by following the rules, she will see how much better it can be. She will end up learning by watching you! If that doesn't change her bad habbits, you have done all you can do. I am 4 weeks out and will do anything not to throw up. I am following all the rules you can bet!

    Announcement!

Congratulations! I can feel the excitement in your post. I am so happy for you. I have only been sleeved for four weeks, can't wait to post something this exciting.
  8. I have Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. I had to stop the immunosupressive drug Imuran 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after. They started my Lyrica back the second day in the hospital, just open capsules and mixed with apple sauce. I can no longer take Aleve, or prescription Naproxen which helped me alot. Going back to the Rhematologist on Monday. Maybe she can prescribe something simular. This was the main reason that I decided to have the surgery also. I'm sure the extra weight I carry around would make a healthy person hurt! Good luck to everyone
