I thing I forgot to mention that I'm going to do tomorrow is take a before picture of myself, and do measurements on my body. This way I can keep track of inches, because even though the scale may not be moving, we could still be losing inches. Hopefully this will keep me motivated when the scale gets "stuck":car:

Thanks Felicia!!!

Thanks Sunny, I'll be back as soon as possible. The first thing I look forward to everyday when I get home is hugs and kisses form my son, and the second is to log on and see how all my band buddies are doing.

Welcome Stepht7s, dmtjet, tinkerbell77, ribearty, and every other new Lucky 7. Insubordination, thanks for dropping in and wishing us well. Next year we'll be in your shoes, YEAH. forgve70x7, thanks for the prayes. I'm the next bander:46 hours and counting down. Dini, you already have a fill??? I won't get a fill for 4 weeks after surgery. Can you get anything down. I figured with the swelling and all they wouldn't fill anyone for a while. That's amazing. BTW, I'm off for the next 4 weeks, so I'll be on the computer earlier each day, so we can chat it up girlfriend. Nelli, "fall off the roof" I have never heard of that. So I finally broke out the Magic Bullet this morning, the blender. It is awesome.:clap2: I blended 4 ozs of slimfast optima with a scoop of vanilla powder and froze them. I made up 8 of them. Very quick, easy, and great clean up. In all they had 26 grams of protein, 170 calories, and under 2 grams of sugar. I love to eat slimfast frozen.:hungry: For one, it tastes great on a hot day, and when it's frozen it takes longer to eat, and you actually feel like your eating something instead of drinking something. Seems more satisfying. So thumbs up for the magic bullet. Cant wait to do something else with it, like soups, and smoothies. I've been cleaning the house all morning so when I get home from the hospital it will be all done, and I can just lay back and not worry about anything. My DH is doing all the laundry for me and cleaning out my car, and hopefully going to give it an oil change. I'm making 1 more trip to the store later just to get some things so I won't have to go for a while. Going to start packing for the hospital later on, and I'm going out for my last dinner tonight with DH and friends. I'm always so organized but I feel like I'm missing something on my list of things to do before going. Oh yes, one last fat intimate encounter with my DH.:embarassed: It will never be the same, WHOOHOOO!!! Sorry, that may have been TMI, but I'm sure everyone will have their own last fat encounter too. :scared:more days and I'll be in Bandland with Dini and Breadlady.

Thanks snaggletooth for the well wishes.

Sunshinesonya, welcome and congrats on getting a July date. We're excited to have you join us.:clap2:

Cazulay, Been there, done that. Good for you for coming to the computer where there is always someone to help you, even if we are strangers, we're strangers with heavy hearts, and in the same boat so we understand. My mom is a special ed teacher also, for about 25 years now. You must have a lot of patience also, as she does, and a very big heart. God bless you for what you do.

Cazulay, I think we all have had some sort of food addiction at one time or another, and that's why we are all here now. But we're here, getting help or should I say a tool, to help us. We're all in this together, and we're here for each other. That's why I love everyone so on this thread. No one here to judge you on your past, just people trying to get to the same goals as everyone else is. no matter if you're starting at 200 lbs or 500 lbs. I've been addicted to carbs all my life. Hard candy and cereal are my downfall, but no more. I'm taking control now, as we all will over our addictions.
-
I thought of another goal of mine. I want to weigh what my drivers license says I weigh. Right now it says 180, so that's my first goal, and then will re-set it for 140.

Welcome to Darlaur, ckbw, Kathy and all the other newbies.:clap2: What a group we have going. Chimboree, when you have an extra minute and update the calendar I need to print a new copy. I'm going to be walking for the first 4 to 6 weeks because I can't do anything else at that time. Then I plan to lift weights 2 to 3 times a week and add my Turbo Jam DVD's in starting in week 6 post op. I love Turbo Jam. Anyone interested you can find it at beachbodies.com. I also have Hip Hop Abs but haven't done it yet. DINI, you're alive my little sausage!!! Do you know how great it is to hear from you. We've missed you so. And we've all been worried. So have you been trying to get in liquids ever 2 to 3 hours, or what does your surgeon suggest? I hope that once you get something in you that you'll feel better. That is so weird that you can feel the band moving, or is it the port? They told me the port will be stitched into place so it can't flip or anything. Luckily Aunt flo already visited this month, so that's one less thing I have to worry about. AshRae, check with your doctor about the nails. I know they have to put that thing on your finger to keep track of the oxygen (I think) but maybe they can still let you keep them on, just take off the polish. I can't even have my toe nails painted.:omg: Nelly, thanks for the prayers. I'll take all I can get. Sunny, you got a July date. Awesome!!! It's finally official and we're so happy for you. Hello to all the other Lucky 7's. We're getting to closer!!!:clap2:

Marci, talk about blood shed, you'll have to hear this one. I went to the hospital this morning to do my pre admitting testing, and everything went fine, and then they told me they need blood. I knew it was coming, and I prepared myself. I sat down and the nurse said are you ready, and I said yes. She said we have a lot to do. I asked how many vials, and she said "10".:omg: I said I think I'm going to faint (not even having started anything with the needle yet mind you) and she said, are you serious?:faint: I said yes, I am. So they put me in a chair where I could recline and put my feet up where I couldn't fall out of it. Seriously, 10 vials, I've never had that many. I get queasy after 3 to 4, so at this point I was scared. Another nurse came in to assist in case I did faint, but then we got stated, and before I knew it, I was done. They only took 3 whole vials, and then divided it into the 10 they had laying there. So all that for nothing. They never needed 10 full vials, and they scared the crap out me for nothing. That was my morning. Now here's my afternoon for you. I get home and there is a call from the hospital to call them. I do and they tell me my portion for the hospital is $291 and some odd change. I said what do you mean. She says this is how much I owe after insurance pays the rest. Keep in mind, I've was told in March that insurance didn't pay, I went and got a $15,000 second mortgage to cover the surgery costs before I even could start this process, and I just paid the hospital $9,600.00 last Friday. I explained all this to her, and told her if the insurance is paying will I get a $9,600 refund? She said yes. So I had har charge my credit card for the $291, and said we'd let it go and see if insurance pays for it. It would be a mistake, but hey, I'd love to have my $15,000 back in my pocket.:heh: If it comes down to them catching the mistake then they will refund my $291, but what a day I've had. So I have to be at the hospital on Monday morning at 8am:whoo:, and surgery was moved up to 9:30 am. They gave me these toweletts to wipe all over myself. Something about killing bacteria for up to 6 hours after using, and then I have to dress and go. The natural look will be on that day. No nothing, nail polish, fake nails, jewelry, I can't even have mousse or gel in my hair. Can you say FRIZZY. Oh well, I'm going to try to leave a little conditioner in it after my shower that morning. I still need to get a robe. Going to go shopping tonight :car:and then I can start packing my bag for the hospital.:clap2:

Chimboree, thanks for the Id info. I figured it had to be something about a stomach tube. I never thought about the ID bracelet, but it is a great idea, especially when they make so cute, and they just look like a fashion bracelet. Who suggested it to you? Your Dr, surgeon, etc? On the one site I went to it listed bariatric surgery patients as someone who should wear the ID. My Dr. or surgeon never mentioned it. Hello all, So I'm off to the hospital for my Pre-op testing. Only 3 days from surgery. I've got the butterflies going already. I'll let you know how it goes later today. Welcome to all new members. I'll have to print out an updated calendar with all the newer names on it.

Wrangler, great goals. I think we all have a thing for seats, and how we wished we fit better into them. Soon, real soon. Chimboree, I noticed something when you posted about the Hope medical ID bracelet. On the thirl line it reads No blind NG Tube. What is this? Would it be for all band patients, or something personal you had added for yourself? I've been looking on line and the bracelets you found are very stylish, and a good price range. I can't believe how expensive they can be. I saw some up to $300. The $60 ones will work just fine.
-
Chimboree, Here's the rest of my goal list: 6. To wear a bra without the sides rolling up and cutting into my sides. 7. To actually wear matching bra and panty sets!!:heh: 8. To pick up my 3 year old without any pain in my back.:omg: 9. To fit into the rides with my son at Kings Island. 10. Last, but not least, to gain the confidence and self esteem I wish I had in my early teen years. So much in my life would be different now if I had these things earlier in life. I'm not complaining about how my life turned out, but now, I can do something about it and hold my head high. Who knows, maybe I'll actually make it to my 20 year high school reunion. I haven't been to one yet!:faint: I feel like the only one out there with out a pre op diet. I'm not gaining, but I'm still enjoying a few things here and there. OMG, I'm getting banded in less than 4 days. It seems unreal. Good luck to all those who do have the pre op. It just means you'll have less to lose after surgery.:clap2: Dini, where are you??? Can you come out to play yet?? I really hope you're doing better and taking it easy. You've had such a rough way to go. We're all still thinking o you. Welcome again to all the new Lucky 7's. Just a few more days and then there will be postings galore. We'll need to take vacation time just to keep up with everyone and read everything. I can't wait. Our whole world is about to change drastically.

Hello everyone. Welcome to all the new Lucky 7 members. We're going to do great with all this support we have here. Congrats on getting the date. Chimboree, I love the bracelet. I'm thinking I need one. I'm going to go to the website later. On the goal note, here are mine 1. Now about the whole 'nakedness thing", ok, I'd love to be intimate during the day and feel great about what my DH is seeing. This night time only in the pitch dark thing has got to go!! 2. I'd love to be able to tie my shoes without the help of a chair, couch, etc. 3. I'd love to shop in the Juniors department, even if I am 35 because I never got to at 17 years old. 4. This is funny, but y'all remember that Dr. Pepper commercial with the lady in the minivan and she opens up the sliding door and there's a cooler of Dr. Pepper. Anyway. all the boys come running towards the minivan as you hear that song 'Stacy's mom has got it going on" playing and the mom stands there smiling and shaking her head. Yeah, "HUNTER"S MOM will have it going on" because I don't want to be a fat mom to my son. 5. Last, for now, but I know there's got to be more but I'm out of time, I'm still treating myself to that tattoo acrossed my back. I'm thinking about a 4 leaf clover with the number 7 inside it. I have to draw up the art work for it, but I think it will be cool. LUCKY 7 FOREVER!!!

Oh yeah, I forgot, Chimboree- love the goals you've stated. I'll come up with mine and post tomorrow.

Hello All, Welcome cazulay, lyssarene, and jadieleigh. Chimboree, I think we're going to run out of space on the calendar with all the new names. This is great. Who would of thought there would be this many of us getting banded in July. Oh BTW, I don't smell anything! I'll probably have nightmare tonight about Dini's bad day. I still fel so bad for her. This is supposed to be hard, I know, but it seems like she had it real rough. Yes, I am on deck, even though today was my original date to be banded and it was postponed until July 2, but I've got next (as of now) I have me pre-op at the hospital on Friday morning. Tomorrow is my last day at work. I received my oficial letter from my corporate office granting my medical leave. I've been having little panic attacks lately. The hospital called to get my pre admitting info for the testing done today and they ask all the regular info, and then they ask if I have a living will and POA. Yes I do, and they asked if the hospital had a copy of it. No they don't. Not the questions you want to have asked, but I guess they have to cover their bases. I've downloaded all my new favorite music on my MP3 so I can take it with me to the hospital, and have it for walks when I get home. I still need to buy a short sleeved robe for the hospital, but I may skip it. Everytime I walk into Walmart I try to think if there is anything else that I need. I have a list, but never put it im my purse, and Walmart is always one of those spontaneous stops my hubby likes to take, so I'm never prepared. I walk around scattered brained trying to think of things I may need. It's geting late, for me anyway, so I'm heading to bed. Have a great night all.

Dini, OMG. I'm am so sorry to hear all that. I wish I could just jump thru the computer and give you a hug. I feel so bad for you. I hope you get better soon. Take care of yourself, and let us know how you're doing. Are you at home now or did they keep you? Breadlady, hope you're having fun at the lake. You'll have a nice tan to go with the new you. Welcom to our newbies, ronik26 and forgve70x7. Congrats on getting a date for surgery. You'll love this thread. We've got the best group going!! Hello everyone else, hope everyone is doing well.

Hello to all the June Bandsters. Congrats to all of that have been banded this month, and maybe a few that will be banded this week still. I'm in the July thread, and I just wondered what unflavored protein powders everyone has tried so far. I've tried the Unjury, but didn't like it too well. Thanks for anyones opinion. Lynette

nulife2be, BTW, love the ticker. Froggie is cute jumping the lily pads!
-
nulife2be, that is what will show up in the signature area. At the bottom hit save, and it will preview your name, and then you will see the letters and colors come up. You should anyway, try it once and see.

Cincyn, welcome. I'm going to take a wild guess that you're Cincinnati, OHIO.:omg: If so, who's doing your surgery? I'm in N KY, but grew up and lived in Cincy for 28 years. Glad you're here. Marcy, great pics. What a great family you have.:clap2: That's my motivation too. Love the fishing pic. My family and I just went fishing two weekends ago. I caught the biggest fish (shovelhead) that night. I figured it weighed about 20 lbs cause it was so heavy. Then it weighed in at 8 lbs.:speechles I was so suprised because it was a good 2 1/2 foot long or better. Chimboree, glad your class went well. The samples will be a great help. Let me know if you have any unflavored protein powder in the samples and if it's any good. I have some, but I haven't had any replies yet as to if it's any good or not. BTW, I'm glad you blamed the calendar thing on me. I'd of felt left out it you hadn't!!! Dini, where are you. Been thinking of you all day girl. Hope all is well and you're resting a lot. I'm figuring it's 1:30 AM there, and hopefully you're sleeping soundly. Let us know how you are when you're up to it. We're all just so excited for you. This is kind of like having a great thing happen to your best friend. You figure if it can't be you (yet) you're just so happy that it's happening to someone else you know. Thoughts and prayers are with you!!!!
-
Chimboree, love the new calendar, BUT YOU"RE NOT ON IT. Better go in and fix that one, you've forgot yourself funny girl. You can blame it one me, the forgetting people thing, everyone else has, right Dini! ha-ha.

Dover, welcome to the Lucky 7's. We're a great bunch looking forward to sharing every last experience with each other. Congrats on getting a date. nulife2be, even if you get banded in August you can still stay with out thread. We're happy to have you here. For the ticker, go to tickerfactory.com and choose a ticker, copy it, come to this site and go under Quick links at the top od the page. Go down to edit signiture. When the page comes up, paste the ticker in the box. I also went to glittermaker.com to do my name. Same procedure as the ticker. Good luck and if I can help let me know. Hope everyone is doing well. Can't wait to hear from Dini. Hope she's getting around good and on her way to a smooth recovery like Breadlady. Still can't believe she's camping, 1 week post op!! I have 2 more days of work. I have my pre op testing at the hospital on Friday morning so I took the whole day off. I'm having dinner with friends tonight, last one for a while anyway, and I pretty much planned out the restraunts I want to eat at before Sunday. I'm not over doing it, just wanted a last meal at some places. It's funny, but the food I've ate for years that were my favorites haven't tasted the same in the last 2 weeks. I hope I remember that after I'm banded, then I won't want it so much. This is the week I'm glad for no pre op diet. I really feel for all of you that have one. I asked my Dr. about a pre op diet and he said it isn't as important before as it is after, and he doesn't want his patients to be burned out on the liquids, so he doesn't require one.
-
DINI, you gave me goose bumps just reading your post. I'm only a week away:eek:, and I can hardly stand the wait anymore. It's exciting for others to get banded, so that's what is keeping me going. I'll be next, and I'm so excited!!!!!!!!! Hope you get some rest, but I'll probably be up all night the night before also. Welcome to all the new Lucky 7's. It's getting closer!!! Chimboree, how are you? Still have lots of Dr. appointments to get to? Breadlady, CAMPING???????? Already????? Wow, you go girl. I hope I feel like doing half as much as you've done since being banded. Amazing. Hey Breadlady, how was you "gas"pains? I hadn't heard you mention them yet. What are you taking for it? I bought the gas x thin strips. I hope they work. Lainy, welcome. This is great, Dini has someone over there close to her. You and Dini both have shoes on your ticker, how funny. Marcy, I don't know how to get the pictures up. I had a hard enough time getting the pic in my avatar. I need a new one. That one is at least a year old. Good luck with the "atkins" you'll be doing. I could never get pat the firt 2 weeks without my fruit. Bread, I could live without, but don't take my fruit away. Hope everyone is doing good.
