BYW, Miss Dini, you are not a whimp. I wouldn't have done so well if I had my "Aunt Flo" visiting yesterday like you did the day of your surgery. But I will accept that hug of yours, and I am FAB, arent I. Just wait until next year, then I'll be MARVELOUS!!! Can't wait!!

Dini, my little sausage, here I am girlfriend. Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Can you believe it. I made it home. I'm still feeling good, even better once I walk around a little. My stomache does feel a little sore, but I've only taken 2 pain pills since I got home yesterday. Lucia Maria, welcome to the Lucky 7's. Caolin, I'm so sorry you had to have your surgery moved back, but if it is for the best, then you can't argue with the Dr. Hopefully you'll get in and have the sleep study quickly, and they can get you in sooner. If he thinks it's important enough to put off surgery for it, then I would respect that he's only looking out for your best interest, and your safety. But yeah, that sucks. At least you'll still be a Lucky 7!!!

Oh yeah, I forgot one thing. Someone wanted to know about how the frozen slimfast with protein power tasted. Very yummy. I'm eating some now. I let it thaw for about an hour. The powder makes it very creamy tasting. Thumbs up from me.:clap2:

Reconciler, welcome. We're so glad to have you join our family. We're an amaizng bunch of people if I do say so myself. About the last supper syndrome,:hungry: for me it stopped about 2 weeks pre-op. I started realizing that the favorite foods I'd come to love over the years just didn't taste the same anymore. The last week pre op I went to a different place every night for dinner. I did enjoy some things, but others I just realized that I could do with out until I hit my goal weight. I even ended up losing 4 pounds this past weekend because of nerves and everything, so maybe try to limit the last supper syndrome to one last meal a day. Pick dinner for instance. Eat light and healthy for breakfast and lunch, and then splurge a little on dinner. It will also help if you walked after dinner. I'd go to the mall and shop, it won't even feel like excercise. Just an idea for you. Thanks to everyone for all the prayers. I think you all helped me so much on this journey, and I did so much research, reading, etc. that it really helped me in the end. It's 5am, and I've slept from about 11pm to 4am. Had to get up and go, so I've done some walking, drinking, burping, and feel much better. JenniferNaz, great to hear you can keep your nails on.:clap2: I always get mine done in the winter when my cuticles stay so dry. It's so relaxing to just sit there and be pampered. I'm going to go have a set put on next week since I have a Spa gift card to use still. I'll be thinking of ideas for your nail art. We'll come up with something great, just give me some time to ponder it today. Mayb something like a bandwagon, or your surgery date, maybe your goal weight?? Or how about a 4 leaf clover with the number 7 in it. I'll think of some more late. I forgot to tell everyone how sweet my DH is:p. He went to the hospital with my mom and I, but had to leave after I went into surgery to do a few jobs, but when he returned, he brought me a get well soon card, and a stuffed bear holding a basket and balloon. It was so cute. I don't think he realized the basket had candy in it:cry, but it was cute. I gave it to my son to take to my moms where he'll be staying until Wednesday. I figured the candy would be gone, and I could have the bear back, maybe! Boy I'm just a chatter box this morning. I am going to lay down again. BTW, SF fudge pops are SOOOOOO good. It's a great chocolate treat!

bfyneNtyme, We both made it home today. I'm so happy for you too. I have about the same feling, but my port is in the center chest area, under where my bra hits) Until reading your post, I forgot I had those gas x thin strips. I've been feeling so well I haven't even used them. Congrats on the success of your surgery. Now we just need to hear from BeefyIrish on his surgery.

Laurend, Bobberts Mom, MrsHorne and Abbey12477, best wishes for you for tomorrow. Hope everything goes smoothly for you, and you get back to the board to post your own experiences. BTW, I forgot to tell you all that I actually LOST 4 lbs. over the weekend, just from nerves I guess. Remember, I didn't have a pre op so I wasn't really watching caloires, but I'm 4 lbs closer to goal!! Yeah. I made it to the losers bench!!! Going to try to get some rest for the night after a short walk. Take care everyone geting banded tomorrow. My prayers are with you.

Hello All, Thanks for all of those who posted congrats to me. I'm am feeling so good it's almost scary. I've been home since 6pm (it's almost 10 pm here now) and have only taken 1 pain pill. I broke it into 4 pieces to get it down. I've had 4 ozs of broth, about 2 ozs of water, and 1/2 of a SF fudge pop so far. Everything has went down great. I keep making laps around my dining room table, but really don't have a lot of gas. As I was walking I could feel some pressure right around my chest bone in the middle. I burped, and OMG, instant relief.:clap2: So the walking does help. I've been resting comfortable in my recliner watching TV and dozing in and out. I still can't believe I'm home. I hope everyone has the same experience. I'm so sorry Dini had so much trouble, but at least you've now heard the good and the bad. Welcome to our newbies cantweight, JenniferNaz, and bun1. We're excited to have you.

I'M HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2: Yes, My surgery started late, around 10:30 am, and they released me at 5pm. I feel great, not really any pain yet. The Dr. came in and said I was doing so good that he would let me go. I've been up walking, going to the bathroom on my own, and really have no pain yet. I'll try to post again later, and read up on other posts from today. Just wanted to let everyone know I was home, and had the best experience I could of possible imagined.

Patti, I just saw your post about the slimfast drinks you make. We must be on the same page, both like the cappuccino flavor. It is good isn't it. Don't you love the magic bullet. I just opened mine yesterday and used it for the first time with the slimfast. It's great, and cleans up fast.

Patti, My Dr. says he keeps all his Band and Rny patients overnight. But he did say if I was feeling great when he makes his rounds at 5 or 6 pm then he may let me go home. So it's a maybe for tomorrow night, but definitely by Tuesday evening I'll be at home. Thanks chimboree for the prayers. Hope you get your lap top working again. Everyone has been waiting for an updated calendar from you. Thanks again for doing that for us. It turnes out great when you print it. I've been adding new people on my old calendar, but I know I forgot someone, just don't know who yet.

Patti Before today, yes I did freeze the can for about 2 hours. I cut off the top of the can with a can opener and ate it like a slush. It's very yummy froze. Now, I open a can, measure out 4 ozs, mix in a scoop of powder, and blend in my magic bullet. Pour it into small containers and freeze. I have 8 of them waiting on me when I get home from the hospital.Very good on hot days. My favorite is the Cappuccino Delight. I love coffee, but only when I mix a bunch of creamer and sugar into it. This satisfies my coffee cravings, with a lot less calories.

Thank you Patti C., jackie506, Marcy, and Dini. Welcome Rebeccah411. You'll have plenty of time to catch up. You've found a great group of supporters for your journey. I'm ready to go, except for last pre op pictures I need my DH to take ( he thinks he's taking them of me in my 'birthday suit', but no way)and my measurements. My bag is packed, ready to walk out the door.:whoo: I've already got some clear broth ready for when I get home, waterbottles, and frozen slimfast ready. bfyneNtyme and BeefyIrish, Best of Luck to both of you who will share my Bandbirthday with me tomorrow.:clap2: Hope you recovery quickly and get back soon. So my mom is going to the hospital with my Dh and I.:straight I guess she's going to try and be supportive. She's keeping my 3 year old until Wednesday for me, which is a big help. I ended up getting her a thank you card, and while I was at it I picked up one for my DH and Dr. I thought it would be nice to thank them ahead of time for everything they've done. I know I won't sleep a bit:notagree, but I'm going to try. I'll probably be on here through out the night. I have to get up about 5:30:paranoid and shower and then wait 1 hour to rub these towelettes on me:speechles. Does anyone else have to do this:confused:? Something about them having an antibacterial effect for up to 6 hours after applying that helps cut back on germs and such when they do surgey. Never heard of it, but I have to do this 1 hour after showering, and then dress to leave for the hospital. We'll see. My Dh has to help as I can't reach my back. Ta Ta for now, but I'll probably be around for a while tonight.

Mommiranda and only4me, welcome to the best thread ever for your lap band support. I'm so glad to be getting banded with all the other Lucky 7's this month, and our two Junies, Dini and Breadlady. We stole them away from the June group, and we told them we're not giving them back!!:heh: I'm heading out for a while to do my shopping. I think I need a little alone time, so I'm leaving the family at home today. Doesn't happen often, but today, I just need it.:think

I was going to wait to post this until tomorrow, but I was so excited to share it with everyone. This is for all the July Banders, so read it now, and re-read it the night before your own surgery. It's something I found while looking through other posts, so I did not write it myself. It was written by a fellow bander named Donna in December '06. I hope you all like it as much as I did. Dini and Breadlady, sorry I didn't think about this sooner. I started thinking about it today since I'm getting so close to surgery, so forgive me for not posting it earlier. Hope you'll still enjoy it. Twas the night before surgery, when all through the house, My tummy was rumbling----it woke up my spouse! My sweat pants were hung by my closet with care, In hopes that some day size 10 I would wear. My family was nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of sugar free Jello danced in my head. My spouse in his PJ’s and I in my gown, Had just gotten all of my Metamucil down. When all of a sudden the phone started to ring, So I sprang from my bed to answer the thing. My kids were at home, so who could it be? Of course---the anesthesiologist was checking on me. Drink plenty of liquids, get plenty of rest, Tomorrow your surgeon would be doing his best. He’ll make you feel better, your health will improve. Remember to exercise! Your body should move! The next day I rose, with my new life in mind. Through the surgery doors--who knew what I’d find. When what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a surgeon in scrubs with two nurses near. He was dressed all in blue, from his head to his toes. His hands were all scrubbed—--a mask covered his nose. A bundle of tools he had set out on a tray I couldn’t stop staring—I could not look away. His eyes--how they twinkled! His laughter how merry! From that moment on, I was no longer wary. He smiled as our eyes met and gave me a wink. Oh my, that’s my surgeon, Dr. Snyder, I think. He was fit as a fiddle, a right handsome young fellow, So calm and collected, I said my hello. A wink of his eye and a twist of his head, Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread. He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work. Finished in no time and turned with a jerk, “There’s more work to be done” he said to his team. They nodded politely and he started to beam. He took off his mask, to his team gave a shout, And away they all ran to help more people out. But I heard him exclaim, as he ran out of sight, At the end of this tunnel, now there is light. I thought it was cute when I first read it about 2 months ago, and even now I still chuckle reading it. I myself have been know to write poems such as this. My hats off to the lady who wrote this. Have a good night all. I'm heading to bed, probably my last good night sleep for a while.:notagree

LyssaRene, I'm dying laughing about Boris and you choking it back up. How funny. Thanks Kathybad, I'm hoping to be out Monday night, but only if I feel like a million bucks, according to my Dr. So I'll definitely be home by Tuesday evening, and I'll be posting as soon as I can. I've had my gall bladder out 3 years ago, and my Dr. said some patients say that the gall bladder is worse then the band operation. So hopefully that will ring true for me, because my gall bladder surgery went well, and I was shopping 2 days later.:clap2: So I just had my last good meal.:hungry: I know some are on pre op so I won't go into detail, but tomorrow I'm going to eat light. I have noticed today that my nerves are really acting up. I've had loose bowel syndrome all day. I hope I'm not getting a virus or something.:sick I'm pretty sure it's just my nerves. Hope it goes away tomorrow.

Thanks Marcy. Dini, Girlfriend, I don't think it's selfish. I'd hate to be 5 hours in front of everyone else, or most everybody. I'm sure it's hard to keep up, but I'm sure once July is in full swing we will all be on here earlier since we'll have some time off. Heading out to eat my last good meal before getting banded. I figured I'm going to eat light tomorrow, so here goes nothing.:omg:

nulife2be, I bought my vanilla and chocolate protein powder at Walmart. It's called Body Fortress and it has 23 g of protein per scoop. The vanilla is pretty good but haen't tried the chocolate yet. I'm using slim fast for protein shakes, and mixing in the powder with it. I bought an off brand of childrens chewables from Krogers that are awful (but my son is taking them well). I'm thinking I may try the Vitaballs- they're the gum balls, or the gummie bears. Just don't know how well they'll go down. As for pre-op diet, every Dr. has something different in mind for this. I don't have a pre op diet to follow. Hope this helps you out some.

bfyneNtyme, welcome. We have the same banding date, so I'm no longer alone on Monday. I think it's safe to say we all feel blessed too, but I feel Lucky to have a date in July, and Lucky to have met such a wonderful support group here. And since I was younger, the #7 has always been my Lucky number. So I'm both blessed and Lucky.
