ssankofa, I know the no water before rule is so you don't fill up quicker on your foods, or so my doc says, but he said it is much better to follow the after eating rule. I've noticed that I can taste the sodium much more in my foods than before since I can't drink, though I don't salt anything I eat. This makes me crave the water afterwards, but I just walk away from it until 1/2 hour after.

ssankofa, the pie sounds good. I may have to try to make one soon. Forgve, yes, I'm a visual for Kohl's. I so miss our District Visual position, and hope it comes back one day. I'm wanting to move up, but not in management- hate the hours, and love my weekends off, but how cool that your mom works for them too in the same position. My 13 year anniversary is coming up Sept. 19 with Kohl's. When I visit Florida in October, the new St. Petersburg store will be grand opening, so I'm excited to get to see it when I go. I spent 9 days down in Hunters Creek Florida helping to open the Florida market 2 years ago. I had a great time. My hotel room was only minutes away from Disney. I love what I do, and I always say I have the best job in the place. So my doc WAS at my support group tonight. How awesome of a surprise for me. It was another open discussion session. Didn't learn too much for the band, but he did mention that we could stop drinking only 10 minutes before eating, which is good for me. Talked about vitamins, and found out that vitamin D is great for those who suffer from arthritis, and were dependent on Aleve/Motrin before surgery, and that baby asprin (with coating)is still good for you to help ward off the possibility of heart attacks in men, and strokes in women. If anyone is suffering from hair loss yet, or dry skin, find some biotin, and vitamin E. I also learned that there is a new weight loss surgery out for about a year now, some sort of sleeve operation where they actually take out 80% of your stomach. It's benefits/risks are between the bypass and band, but NO insurnace covers it. So who in their right mind would choose it!! We were also told that St. Luke where I had surgery is getting divorced from the Health Alliance they've been in, so don't quite know what this means for him. He may be moving hospitals to join with St. Elizabeth, but it's up in the air. I know I need to find out more tomorrow when I get my fill since I'm self pay for his services, and have a year of aftercare paid for up front. That's about it. If I think of anything more, I'll pass it along!!

forgve70, love the new pic by the beach. It's beautiful. We're leaving for Florida in 5 weeks so I'm beach bound, and so looking forward to it. Marcy, your mother reading this is hysterical. I wonder how much she read. Maybe she's learking around to see what else you'll post!!! Just kidding, but I'd watch what I'd say, HAHA!! ssankofa, what is in shepards pie?? I've heard of it, but don't really know what is in it. Butterflykisses, welcome to the lucky 7's. Laurend, congrats on the loss. Sunny, so how did you like my chicken salad?? I have my second support group meeting tonight. Too bad my doc won't be there, but have no fear, I get filled tomorrow, so I'll see him then.

Car, I've had no problem getting in my water, but my rules are to wait 1/2 hour after and before eating. I actually have to keep track or I'll go over my 120 oz maximum. Try setting a timer for 1 hour after eating, and give yourself an hour to drink 20 ozs. If your can do this 3 times a day, then just add an extra 4 osz in somewhere else, you'll be there in no time!! So I've been working with Hunter tonight in catching a football. He's doing great. I think DH is thinking Pee Wee football already for this year, OMG. What have I started!!!! Still need to get out and get the safety scissors and work on that, and I'm thinking I need to stat trying to get him to write his initials or name, just so he can put it on his school projects. One day at a time, he'll be ready for school. My mom is so excited, she wants to have him overnight this weekend so she can take him school shopping for a backpack and new clothes, and she already said she has to be there the first day of school when he gets on the bus!!! She's a picture person, so she has to get it all on film. I'm heading to bed soon, so I hope everyone is having a great night. My son is actually calling me to toss football again, and to think, we've only just begun!!!

WOW, lots to read today. Chim, I think it's great about being in the top 5 threads. We've got a great family around here don't we. That hubby is right around the corner for you. Keep your chim up, and you're lible to bump right into him!!! SharronRT, welcome (back) to the Lucky 7's. Dmtjet, thanks for the list. It is soooo long. How wonderful is that. Hope school goes good for you this week. ssankofa, hate having computer problems. Mine was down a while but I think I finally have it figured out. I can feel my port, but I believe I can also feel my band. It's strange, but about 2 inches above where my doc put the fill in, I feel another bump, which has to be the band. There's nothing esle that I can think it would be. Kathy, congrats on getting the court date. What a great day it will be when you can finally bring her home as your own (on paper) The new picture is just so cute of all of you. Phyl, sounds like you're keeping busy with the grandkids. I bet it's reat visiting or a bit. jackie, you go girl. You should get out and enjoy a ride with your DH. Peaches, good luck on the fill. Have a safe trip. AppleBlossom, welcome back and thanks for the words about Hunter. He is doing great, and we're working with him on the things he's not done so he can learn them. Marcy, congrats on the 5 lb. loss. That's wonderful. Glad you feel some restriction now. Well, I just had a steak dinner tonight. It was so good, and I chewed so much my jaw hurts, but I figured it would be much harder to eat after Wednesday when I get my next fill, so I went for it. I still feel like I'm eating more than the 4 to 5 ozs I should be, but I haven't gained any, so I guess I'm ok. Finally starting to add a little fruit and veggies into my diet, as I've been so consumed in eating all this Protein all the time. I was beginning to feel like I was on Atkins again. I figured if I start my day with a Protein shake in the morning with a scoop and a half of powder, that alone gets me 35 grams of protein, so I only need 35 more grams a day to reach 70 total. This is easy to do, and I'm not set on eating only protein the rest of the day. Hope everyone is having a great day.

WOW, slow day around here. Everyone seems to be back to their pre bandster life, which is a very good thing indeed. Lunch was good, we went to Perkins. My mom and I split an omlet, well she had more, but at least I didn't have to bring any home. Anyway, we went back to her house for a bit and then came home. Did anyone see the Georgia/Japan Little League World Series game. It was great game, and went into 2 extra innings. Sunny, your baby girl is 21 today. How great is that. Hope you have a great day and a fun cookout. Dmtjet, isn't your butt hurting from the motorcycle yet, LOL!!! You love to ride don't you. Sounds like you go everywhere on it, just like I use to. Well, I'm heading to watch Big Brother, and then off to bed, so everyone enjoy their evening, and I'll check in tomorrow. G'nite all.

Good mornin all. Tenille, that's funny about your pants falling down when your were dancing. I'm sure we'll all have those NSV's vey soon, just when we least expect it!! Sunny, I'm still at only 4 to 5 oz meals, although I know I've went over this week a few times. I think it's just my way of knowing I ned a fill again, whick is on Thursday, but what your doing sounds right. The meal you had was probably 6 to 7 ozs, depending on how small the baked potato was, but if your felt restriction and stopped, then it's working!! Citygirlnks, welcome to the Lucky 7s. We have a great group here and we're excited to have you join us!! Brandy, sounds like you are doing awesome. The solids should make you feel fuller faster, just because you actually have to chew and it takes longer to eat, so you'll feel full and stop eating before you would on liquids or mushys. dmtjet, I've been doing the burping too. I guess it's a cue that we are full. only4me, take care of yourself. Hope it is just water in your ear. Well, I'm headed out to eat lunch with my mom today, so I ned to get going into the shower. I'll check back in later. Hope everyone has a great Sunday!!!

ribearty, congrats. That's awesome. I put on a pair of jeans this week, and almost fell over, because they weren't tight anymore. It feels great doesn't it!!
-
HMMM, this is odd. I did get on and post yesterday, but I don't see it. My computer was putting around again, so I'm not sure what happened. ANyway, I did eat salad for the first time yesteray. I burped Italian dressing even 3 hours after lunch, so that wasn't good. Yuck. But it tasted good. I loaded it with protein. Hope everyone is doing good today. It's Clean up my house Saturday, so I'll check in periodically. Have a great day.

Hello, I haven't seen a July thread yet so I thought I'd start one. I'm getting banded on July 2 in Florence, KY. :drum: Anyone else out there being banded in July??:clap2: Lynette
-
Chim, 17 lbs!!!!!! That's wonderful. I'm proud of you too!!! lindaa, thanks for the congrats for Hunter and I. Leaves me wondering too. newcc, isn't the band a great tool. It helps so much to avoid the things we shouldn't eat!!

Hello all. Well, today went much better at Hunters evaluation. In fact, the lady told me today that his motor skills are just fine, and his social skills are out of this world. She scored the test and came back to tell me he was actually 2 points OVER for his age, which wouldn't qualify him??? But she said she would take another look at it, and change some things slightly because she thinks he's just awesome, and will help the other kids in the speech area since he talks a lot. And to think about a year and a half a go we thought he'd never talk!!!!!!!!!! So it looks like he'll be starting preschool in about a month. I'm so excited for him, and he's so anxious to ride the bus to school. I'll have to take some time off work so I don't miss the first day of school!!!!!!!!! Cazulay, I'm so jealous, they told me not to try salads until week 8, so on Monday, I'll be eating salads!!!
-
Hey all, Sunny, where you at girl, and how was your fill??? Chim, how you doing girlfriend?? Hanging in there until your fill? On the preschool front, the ironic thing is that this is our public school system!!! This is a free preschool class for our children. Can you imagine what they would be asking him to do if I was paying for the schooling somewhere else!!!!!!!!!! So tomorrow can't get here quick enough for me. I really just want it ovre with, and at this point have decided I wouldn't mind having him at home anothe year. It just opens up my mind to the things I can still teach him. Oh the possibilities!! Dinne out was great tonight. I ate a 1/4 of a chicken club sandwich and 2 bites of coleslaw. I was satisfied, so I stopped. It's now about 2 1/2 hours post eating, and my tummy isn't even growling yet. I'm proud that I sit back and think before putting another bite into my mouth. I'm restricting my eating with out the bands help at this time. I think that's a great NSV for me! Starting to get a little headache, so I think I'm going to head to bed early. G'night all, and have a wonderful evening.

Sarujah, the also sell papaya enzyme chewable pills that aide in the digestion process.

Dini, welcome back!!! Icybreeze, welcome back!! Sunny, been thinking of you all day. How did your fill go under floro. Again, thanks for all the kind words about Hunter's situation. I am better today, and preparing for tomorrow. I know he is a smart child, and if he can not get in, then I will do eveything in my power to work with him the next year on everything he failed, so then he will be in front of the 4 years olds next year. What better teacher than his own mother. I got a call from the doctors office today. They moved my 2nd fill up again to next Wednesday. I was kind of looking forward to doing the liquid stage on the weekend, but now I'll have to do it Thursday and Friday instead. Oh well. I'm headed out for dinner with a friend, so I'll check in later.

Hello everyone, Thanks for all the kind words for Hunter. He'll be fine, I know it, even if he can't start until next year. He is a smart little cookie, and he can already read some words. He takes keys and opens locks, he does amazing things, just not the things they wanted him to do. I'm not going to stress over it, as there is nothing else I can do, in 2 days anyway. They will accept him as he is, or I'll try to locate another preschool at a local church, etc. What's ironic is that he's overachieving in social skills, and he's really not been around other kids at all. My MIL watches him at home, so no day care situation, and we go to parks, play areas, around other kids, and he has done pretty good, but not on an every day basis. Oh well, it's not in my hands, and I know he will be fine either way. He is my first, my last, and only, and he's so loved and going to turn into a fine young man one day!!
-
Sunny, please keep us updated on your fill tomorrow. I can't believe he couldn't axcess it. Hopefully things will be better tomorrow under floro. Good luck to you.
-
Sunny, my heart goes out to you tonight. I've been through this too, and they are members of the family, there is no like a member feeling to me. I'm so sorry for your loss, and hope that you will find some comfort in the next days knowing she did not suffer. It sounded like it was quick, and she was not in any pain. The fact that you could not of done anythig for her should be a comfort too. Sometimes things just happen, but God will take good care of her for you. Again, I'm so sorry.
-
Maria, don't wait too long. You may need a slight unfill. You need to get things passed for nutrition. I'd give it another day, but no longer if you're in pain I'd go.

lindaa, they didn't really give me any sugestions, although they told me they sould check to see if he can go up and down stairs with alternating feet, or if he could kick a ball. This was the moror skills he failed. Cutting with scissors- My child is 3 and he has never held a pair of scissors, so he doesn't know how to cut. They tossed him a bean bag, and he didn't catch it. We've always rolled balls inside the hose, and he throws then outside, but he's not able to catch yet. He didn't know how to twiddle his thumbs. I've not taught him that. But what mother would, and would let their son play with scissors. He has to sort blocks with shapes on them into piles and then stack them. He just stated stacking them and pushed them over. He couldn't draw the shapes although he new them, and he could not write his name. To me, if he can't do these things, wouldn't you think these would be things he could learn in preschool. DUH!!!!!!!! What's school for, to learn. I'm beginning to feel like we failed him. I've concentrated so much on the ABC, and 123 of learning, that I forgot to teach him how to cut with scissore and catch a bean bag. I can say he did very good at social skills, getting dressed by himself, brushing his teeth, washing his hands by himself. I don't know what difference Thursday will make for him, because I'm sure they give him different tests, so we'll see. I just hate fo him to fall behind this early.
-
Can anyone tell we're all back to work!!! Slow day around here. Kristin, maybe from drinking too fast, or eating too fast. Not for sure, but I do it too, but not often. Maybe the food isn't getting through, and when we burp it releases an air pocket that has formed, and then the food can go down.
-
peaches, I get the rumbling too. I use it to signal my meals. Hope you had a great vacation. So I took Hunte to his preschool evalution today. He passed in social skills, but failed in Motor skills. So we go back on Thursday to re-test. I'm feeling kind of down over it, so we have 2 days to work on it.

Lucky 7- July 07 Cruise (to bring or not to bring)
Lynette617 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
So Lucky 7's, you're on board for the Cruise, now tell us if you'd like to come alone or bring a spouse/partner. We don't want to leave out our support, but we weren't sure if they would feel out of place or not. -
Kathy, I know what you mean on the potty thing. About 3 months ago, all of a sudden Hunter started going on the potty, EVERY 5 MINUTES. I was sure my water bill would double just from him flushing. It got old after a few days, and he reveted back to the diaper on his own. I was just so excited to see him on the potty, I let him go hoping that was going to be it, but alas, we're still working on it. Glad to hear you had a great day back at work. Only4me, hang in there. This too shall pass. G'nite all, it's my bed time!!
-
Imfine, sounds like your fill is working well for you. Glad you tried the water before leaving the office. This may help others to do this also just to test the "waters" before leaving.
